It was now morning time and we had begun our walk to the cave on a trail used for carriages. Claire and Tana shared a room, and I was in a room by myself unfortunately.
“Master, what’s wrong why do you suddenly look down?” (Tana)
The little fox girl walks alongside me, and tilts her head looking at me confused at my expression, unaware of what I was just thinking about.
“It’s n-nothing Tana, don’t worry about it, and what’s with calling me master?” (Chandler)
Not that I have a problem with being called master, in fact it’s the best! But a little girl calling me master in public can give people the wrong impression. I’m also curious as to why she even calls me that.
“It’s a secret, Master. Ku ku ku.” (Tana)
The little fox loli puts on a smug expression. Jeez, this girl...
“He’s right to question that Tana, other people may find that tittle inappropriate.” (Claire)
Leave it to the noble girl to say something on the matter. Damn, I need to use the schmonin. I take a hit from my vape then blow a cloud into the air.
“Tana how about you go into those woods and look for monsters we can kill, we will need the XP to level up before we arrive at the cave.” (Claire)
“Okayy!” (Tana)
Claire stairs at my schmonin, damnit I know what she wants.
“I’m concerned about that girl.” (Claire)
“Why’s that? Is it because she refers to me as master?” (Chandler)
“No, it’s not because she calls you master. Last night at the inn, Tana would have nightmares and cry out for her parents, in her sleep. When she’s with us she puts out a cheerful personality, but deep down I think she’s in pain. She may be calling you master, because you are the one who saved her life, and she likely thinks of you as a parent guardian figure.” (Claire)
Poor girl, losing her parents has to be tough, the girl is scared to be without parents at a young age, and has nightmares, this makes me want to protect her more.
“Anyways, let me use your schmonin.” (Claire)
Damnit now this girl is just straight up demanding to use my vape, well whatever.
“Fine” (Chandler)
I hand Claire my vape and she takes a hit, then blows a cloud, surprisingly she did it without coughing this time.She then returns the vape to me.
“Claire, did you just send me away to hold hands with Master and steal him from me?” (Tana)
Tana came back to see Claire putting the vape in my hand. With the right timing from her little girl perspective, it probably seemed like we were holding hands.
“A-ah No Tana!” (Claire)
Claire stutters and gets red. Why are you getting that way it’s not like it was true.
“Your completely wrong.” (Chandler)
I lightly grab Tana’s fox ear to tease her, and it’s really soft!
“EEEP!” (Tana)
Tana let’s out a little noise and her eyes get wide, seems the inside of her ears are sensitive, but they sure are soft.
“Master, you are such a meanie!” (Tana)
“Anyways, Tana did you find any monsters?” (Claire)
Tana stops for a second, and ponders on how to respond.
“Well, I didn’t find any monsters, but their was this weird guy who was just sitting on a rock, he didn’t seem to notice me.” (Tana)
“Looks like we will have to check it out” (Claire)
We go off the trail until we enter an open field with a decent sized rock in the distance with a person crouched on top of it.
We get a little bit closer and what I notice shocks me. The person on the rock is my friend Ethan! What he got Isekai’d too? I thought only me and Matt got Isekai’d. Now I have more questions.
Ethan is wearing a basic leather adventuring outfit, so clearly he has already swapped out his old clothes, and has gotten settled in to this new world. It’s not a surprise that he seems to have adjusted better than Matt, he was a weeb like me in the old world. Though, I would say I was the bigger weeb between me and Ethan. I approach Ethan hoping to get answers to my questions.
“Hey Ethan, why are you camping?” (Chandler)
Ethan rapidly turns around while camping on the rock with a dagger out.
“I’m not camping, I’m just waiting for monsters to kill for XP, but Chandler you got Isekai’d too?” (Ethan)
So he is camping, I’m not surprised, I won’t drag him about it, because I need this idiot to answer my questions.
“Yes I got Isekai’d too, and so did Matt. Did anyone else get Isekai’d with you, or are you by yourself? Also where did you get your equipment?” (Chandler)
“I got my equipment at a nearby village called Lune Village after doing some jobs as an adventurer. I registered as a copper ranked adventurer at the guild building in a village further away from Lune Villager, called Grassview Village.” (Ethan)
Hmm it seems he adjusted quite well then, but he still appears to be by himself, I guess he hasn’t formed a party yet.
“I also met up with Carsten not too long after I got Isekai’d, however he left on his own shortly after I explained the situation to him, and he referred to himself as my future stepdad again, I don’t like it when he says that.” (Ethan)
“Carsten got Isekai’d too huh?” (Chandler)
Glad to see Carsten is still acting like himself, I wonder what he’s doing? So it seems that me, Matt, Ethan, and Carsten have all been Isekai’d together to this new world. I wonder how Ethan died, and what level he is. I won’t ask him how he died right now.
“Chandler, what’s with those two girls behind you?” (Ethan)
Ethan points at Claire, and Tana while still on his rock.
“Oh, them? This is Claire and Tana, they are my party members.” (Chandler)
Tana smiles and waves at Ethan.
“Hi there.” (Tana)
“We should probably get going soon, we have a quest to do after all.” (Claire)
Ethan then stands up tall on his rock.
“Well then Chandler, I’ll let you go now, good luck on your low-level quest, I will continue to wait for a monster that a level 4 such as myself can defeat.” (Ethan)
Does this idiot really think that he’s higher than me, and everyone in my party? He’s made a bold assumption.
“Ethan you do realize I’m level 6, and that these two are higher than that?” (Chandler)
Ethan slips, and falls over on his ass on the rock.
“OW!” (Ethan)
Ethan looks depressed and disappointed that he’s a lower level than me, and he remains silent on the rock that he has been camping on. Ethan has always been known as a no life in video games, so he takes levels to heart. We say goodbye, and leave to continue our quest on the trail towards the cave.
We slay some low level monsters on the way and Me and Tana level up. I am now level 7, and Tana is level 11. Leveling up fast sure is useful.
Soon we arrive at what appears to be some sort of cave entrance.
“We are here.” (Claire)
