Chapter 3:

Trying To Bond With A Human (3)

When The Alien Mets the Killer

While Balderik waited for the human to wake up, he continued to observe the human body. It was much shorter than his own.

The human appearance didn't seem deadly. Rather, it seemed cute and harmless.

Balderik possessed a very large tail, filled with strong muscles. He could easily squeeze organs out of his opponents or shatter an opponent's bone with one hit. Even his long horns, which slightly wrapped around his head, were to protect his skull from attacks.

Yet this human had no tail, no horns, no claws, or even sharp teeth. Instead of a predator that the universe feared, it was like prey. Why is everyone so scared of humans?

As Balderik was deep in thought, he heard the human groan. At the same time, Elifam rushed over to him, grabbed his horns, and pulled him into a room. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Balderik questioned.

"The human collapsed because it saw you. Let's leave it alone and see what it does." Elifam whispered as he slightly opened the door just enough to peek out.

"You just want to observe the human," Balderik rolled his eyes.

"Shhh! It's waking up," Elifam whispered, and excitedly peeked out of the door, Balderik followed his lead.

As Aiden's consciousness slowly came to, a splitting headache came along with it. "Where?" Aiden asked when he noticed the surrounding area didn't look familiar.

He got off the couch and started to look around. "MY GUN?" He suddenly exclaimed, praying that he still had it, which he did.

He immediately took it out and readied it for firing. So many questions squirmed in his head as he started to look around-Where did the alien go? Did it bring me here? Why? No, that's not important right now. I need to find the exit.

Just then, a large and echoed growl came from the room that two aliens were in. The badger was awake.

Aiden acted quickly and pointed the gun in the direction of the sound. Balderik and Elifam quickly hid away from view. "Why did you bring that thing with us?" Elifam angrily whispered.

"I forgot that I had it!" Balderik whispered back as he let go of the badger. It quickly ran out of the room.

"Oh. It's just you...did the weird alien bring you too?" Aiden said as he squatted to the floor and lent a hand to the badger, but he never looked away from the door. This was an unfamiliar place, and he didn't know what to expect, especially after seeing an alien.

"What did it say?" Balderik asked Elifam in a low whisper. "'I don't know! I don't speak human!" Elifam explained in a panic.

However, their whispers weren't low enough to keep Aiden from hearing their voice.

He got off the floor and quietly started to walk to the door. "I don't hear him," Elifam stated with a horrified expression.

"Did he fall again?" Balderik asked concerned for the well-being of the human. Do humans fall a lot?

Just as Elifam was about to answer, the door was kicked open. Balderik stood up from shock as his tail whipped the floor, leaving a dent. Elifam just froze in place. Perhaps if I stay still, it won't notice me.

While Aiden was scared shitless, he never wavered. "DON'T MOVE!"

"Psst. Balderik, do something!" Elifam whispered.

Just then Balderik had an idea. The human seemed to have no aggression towards the smaller creature, even though it did have claws and sharp teeth....maybe because it is smaller than the human?....Or it could also be because they are bonded. Should I make myself seem smaller?

Balderik acted quickly, he kneeled on the floor with his hands on his leg and shrank the length of his tail until it was almost invisible. He even kept his head bowed in an attempt to make himself look smaller.

Elifam soon followed his lead. "What are you doing?" Aiden asked in confusion. He had told them not to move and they both sat down, with their heads down?!

"T-Take me out! Get me out of here!" Aiden ordered. Yet the aliens couldn't understand.

Balderik looked toward the human and titled his head. He didn't know how to communicate the language barrier besides tilting his head.

Aiden finally understood what the problem was, and a disappointed look formed. "Fuck."

"Fuck?" Balderik repeated.

"..."

"Fuck," Elifam repeated too.

"..." Aiden closed his eyes in frustration. Why do I feel like I just taught kids to curse?

Abruptly, out of nowhere, a noise sounded near Aiden. He opened his eyes in surprise, the large blue alien was sitting much closer to him; in the same position but without his head down.

Aiden moved swiftly to point his gun at the alien's head once again.

Balderik didn't know what the thing near his head was, but since it made the human feel more comfortable being around him, he didn't mind.

Balderik slowly raised the palms of his hands to the human. For Balderik's people, the Kalogal, this gesture could mean two things. Either surrender or submission. It was only used during wars, or with friends and family.

The large blue alien suddenly held its hands out and Aiden was left confused. What does it want me to do with it?

Aiden in a state of confusion slowly reached his hand out to the aliens. At the moment that Aiden was about to make contact with him, he retracted his hand in hesitation and looked at the alien.

His eyes were glowing yellow, but now that Aiden was getting a clearer look at them, it didn't seem like this alien had any hostility. Its eyes were similar to puppy dog eyes.

The alien waited patiently for Aiden to make his move, showing no sign of urgency.

I guess nothing too big can happen if I touch an alien...right?....but I guess if I die...it would financially be the best decision for me.

Aiden returned his hand near the alien's palm. When Aiden's fingertip felt the rough texture of the palm, something in him stirred up. Part of him wanted to feel more and the other part of him was against it.

It was as if his hand was pushed down against his own will, but he didn't mind. As Aiden used his whole hand to feel the palm's texture, his gun slowly started to drop.

Unnoticed to him, the aliens looked fascinated by him and his every move.

Balderik, unable to control his emotion, released his tail to its normal size and it started gently swaying behind his back in mid-air.

When Aiden saw the tail, he couldn't help but freeze himself. Yet his eyes continued to follow the tail's direction. The same way a cat would follow a laser. Maybe these aliens aren't so bad.

"I think he likes your tail," Elifam whispered to Balderik.

Hearing Elifams voice, Aiden stopped looking at the tail and looked at Elifam from top to bottom. He's smaller than the other one.

Elifam was so excited to have humans' attention on him. He quickly followed what Balderik did with his palms. His tail swayed with aggressive passion.

Aiden looked at Balderik and back to Elifam, does he want me to touch it too?

Before walking over to the other alien, Aiden took a deep breath. "Just don't do anything weird." He said as he walked over to him.

While he felt like he no longer had any need for the gun, he still kept it in his hand. Unlike with Balderik, when Aiden reached his hand at him there was a clear sense of urgency. Aiden noticed and quickly wanted to retreat his hand but he figured since he came this far, he might as well finish.

Just as Aiden was about to touch Elifam's hands, a noise came from the front of the ship.

Aiden raised his gun up in alarm but Balderik and Elifam knew exactly what the noise was, their companion, Sollvika. She returned from her trip.
