Chapter 4 - "A Sudden Surprise"

I need to assume the situation, why am I in a love hotel?!

No, more importantly, why am I in a love hotel with Nakano-san?!

I need to ask her and be prepared for what things I have done...

"Um...Nakano-san, why are we in a love hotel, together...?" I asked.

"Oh, you don't remember, Furuya-kun?" Nakano-san asked.

Also, why is she wearing only a white shirt?!

"No, what happened, Nakano-san?"

"Furuya-kun, on our way to the restaurant you passed out on the street, so I brought you to the nearest hotel.

"But wait, wasn't it hard for you to bring me here all by yourself?!" I asked Nakano-san.

Nakano-san must be so strong, I need to treat her well...

"Actually no, you were half-conscious so I just needed to keep you up till we got to the hotel," replied Nakano-san while looking down at the ground.

"Oh, I see, anyways thanks for caring for me, Nakano-san.

Sorry for causing you trouble..."

"Didn't I tell you to stop apologizing, we are friends and friends are always there to help each other, right, Furuya-kun?" Nakano-san looked at me and smiled.

Right, we are friends now, it's still unbelievable to me, but I am friends with Nakano-san, I just hope it's not all one big dream.

"Yes, you are right, Nakano-san. So I am going to protect you two from now on!" I replied while smiling at Nakano-san.

"Haha, remember that, dummy." Nakano-san witty replied and looked away as she blushed.

"Anyway, you must be hungry, Nakano-san, you didn't get to eat anything because of me after all..." I said.

"Well, yeah, I am pretty hungry. Is it that obvious, haha?"

"Then where should we go to eat, is there a good place anywhere near here?"

"Furuya-kun, we can order some food here, they serve food in love hotels nowadays."

WHAT?! You are telling me that Nakano-san wants to eat dinner here with me, in the love hotel?!

"If you are okay with it...Nakano-san." I replied.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Nakano-san said while she laughed.

"Hmm, then let's look at the menu." I took the menu and opened it.

"Wow, look, Furuya-kun! Maybe we should get the "Hot Couple Night Set"?" Nakano-san smiled at me and started waiting for my answer.

"What?! What do you mean by "Hot Couple Night Set", Nakano-san?!"

"Hahaha, look at your face, Furuya-kun, you are red as a tomato!

I was just kidding, obviously...haha." Nakano-san burst out laughing.

I feel so embarrased...of course she was kidding, why did I think that she was serious for a second?

Maybe it was because she smiled so sincerely at me, I am not sure but I just got this kind of feeling.

"Don't joke like that...please."

"Haha, got it, sorry! Then how about we just get some katsudon?" suggested Nakano-san.

"Sure, I will treat you for all the troubles I caused you..."

"Deal!" exclaimed Nakano-san.

We ordered katsudon through the room service and waited for it to arrive.

*Ding-dong*

"Furuya-kun, the bell is ringing! Can you get our food?" asked Nakano-san.

"Sure, you wait right there, Nakano-san," I replied.

I grabbed the food and put it down on the table.

"Woah, look, Furuya-kun, the food looks so delicious!"

"You are right, it definitely looks good, especially for a love hotel food!"

I mean at this point I could eat anything, I am starving even love hotel food looks like a 5-star meal.

"Let's dig in, Furuya-kun, thanks for the food!" exclaimed Nakano-san with excitement to try the katsudon.

"Yeah, let's dig in, I am so hungry."

"Haha, you sure are, eat a lot.

You need to take care of your health and body!" Nakano-san said to me in a loud voice.

"You don't need to say that now, I feel like I could eat a couple of more katsudons, haha," I said as I laughed.

"Wow, Furuya-kun, you have some huge appetite, let's see you do it!" Nakano-san started laughing as she replied.

"Right on, just look at me!" I exclaimed.

Or so I thought...

"Ahm I am so full, I feel like I am going to burst.

What about you, Furuya-kun?"

"Furuya-kun...isn't here...

Leave a message after the beep."

*Beep Beep Beep*

"Furuya-kun!! Don't die on me, wake up, Furuya-kun!" Nakano-san shouted loud.

" I am fine, well...not really fine but I just need some time to digest, I guess I overestimated myself."

"Haha, did you try to impress me with how much you can eat, Furuya-kun?" Nakano-san asked while giggling.

"No, no, I was just really hungry!" I replied while looking away at the wall.

"What are you on about, Furuya-kun, haha?

I guess I will believe you." Nakano-san smiled slightly under her nose.

"Anyways, we should get some rest now.

So~which side are you sleeping on, Furuya-kun?" Nakano-san asked.

"Oh, I am on...Wait, EH?!?!"

Okay, this time for sure it is a joke, I must stay calm and just laugh it out!

"Haha, nice joke, Nakano-san.

We should be getting ready to leave the room and head home since it's late!"

I said while laughing nervously.

"Nice joke? I am not joking, Furuya-kun...

I already paid for the room, also if you look at the time the trains stopped commuting ten minutes ago!"

"Eh, for real?! What should we do then?" I shouted in panic.

"We should just sleep over here or do you have any problem with it?" Nakano-san asked.

"No, I don't have a problem, it's just...we are a boy and a girl sleeping together in a love hotel room.

Is it alright with you, Nakano-san, since I am not even your boyfriend...?" I asked Nakano-san timidly.

"Of course, I am fine with it, let's think of tonight as a pajama party with friends!" exclaimed Nakano-san.

"I am not sure anyone does pajama parties in a love hotel, though..."

"Haha, you are right. Then let's be the first one to do it, Furuya-kun!

What do you think?" Nakano-san asked while giggling.

Nakano-san sure has some crazy ideas...

"Sure, haha," I replied.

I am saying that but I am literally shaking on the inside and a little bit on the outside, I am going to sleep in the same bed as Nakano-san!

I haven't even had a sleepover with a girl in my life till now...

Should I just sleep on the floor...?

No, just the idea of sharing a bed with Nakano-san makes me want to go to sleep on the street.

I am not worthy of even laying on the same bed as her, what about sleeping on the same bed with her...

WHAT SHOULD I DO?!

"Oh, by the way, Furuya-kun, could you give me my pants?" Nakano-san asked as she laughed.

"Your pants?" I asked Nakano-san.

"The ones on top of the bed, dummy, haha," Nakano-san replied.

Wait, I totally forgot that Nakano-san wasn't wearing any pants!!

How did I let such important detail slip my mind, I feel so embarrassed...

I grabbed Nakano-san's pants and gave them to her.

"Here you are, Nakano-san!"

"Thank you." Nakano-san said while smiling.

"Nakano-san..."

"Yes, what is it, Furuya-kun?"

"Why did you take your pants off in the first place?" I asked nervously.

"Ah...well, I was worried that you might be cold and since the bed sheets here are kind of thin I lent you my pants so you are not cold, Furuya-kun," Nakano-san replied while blushing.

"Wait, really?? You didn't have to do that, you are so nice, Nakano-san."

"Don't worry about it and let's get ready to sleep," Nakano-san said with a gentle voice.

"Oh, yes, you can go ahead, Nakano-san!" I exclaimed.

"Okay, be right back!" Nakano-san said while she was heading to the bathroom.

I still can't believe it, I am for real going to sleep in the same bed as Nakano-san.

Oh, no. I think something else is also getting excited...

I have to hide my excitement and just go to sleep as fast as possible.

"Furuya-kun, I am ready, you can go to get ready now." Nakano-san said to me.

"Furuya-kun?? Why are you in bed already, aren't you going to wash yourself up?" asked Nakano-san while being surprised.

"Ah, actually I am too tired to do anything, I am going to go to sleep immediately!" I replied.

"Eh, already?! But that's too boring...it's a pajama party, on a pajama party we are supposed to chit-chat, fight with pillows, or at least watch a movie!" Nakano-san exclaimed.

"I just want to spend a little more time with you, Furuya-kun..." Nakano-san said quietly while looking down with a saddened expression.

Why does Nakano-san look so sad suddenly?

Is she really sad because I said I am going to bed early?

Ah, I am such an idiot...I made a girl sad, a girl who helped me all day even when I passed out.

I need to do something about it, I can't just go to sleep right now.

"Okay, I guess I can sleep a bit later, It's our first pajama party after all."

"Really?! Oh, YES!! We are going to have so much fun, Furuya-kun!"

Nakano-san started giggling while looking at me.

"What would you like to do, Nakano-san?"

"Um, usually when I do pajama parties with the girls we just talk about relationships or have pillow fights, haha," replied Nakano-san while laughing.

"But I guess since you are a boy, we could take out these two and just jump straight to the movie?"

Since I am a boy?! What does Nakano-san mean by that?!

And on top of that, a movie?!

Usually, I heard that when a boy and a girl watch together a movie in the dark, they either hold hands, start kissing, or do even more extreme things!

How am I supposed to stay calm while watching a movie with Nakano-san, I wish I could pass out on command.

If I could hit a button to instantly pass out, I would smash the f**k out of that button right now!

"Furuya-kun? What are you thinking about?" Nakano-san asked while worried.

"Oh, no, no! I was just worrying if I took the laundry out of the washing machine, haha, not a big deal!

A movie, you say? Sounds good, I like watching movies.

What should we watch, Nakano-san?" I asked.

"Um, since today was such a thrilling day, what a better way to finish the day than watching a horror movie under the blankets!" Nakano-san exclaimed.

"Horror movie? Okay, I am down for it!" I replied to Nakano-san while smiling.

"Okay, then I will let you pick the movie, Furuya-kun, while I order popcorns through room service!"

"Haha, leave it to me, Nakano-san!"

So, Nakano-san said she wanted to watch a horror movie, but still, I shouldn't choose a movie that is super scary or gross.

If I choose something super scary she might think that I am insensitive, and if I choose something very gross she might think I am a weirdo...

I should choose carefully what we watch so Nakano-san doesn't start hating me.

What about "Left Turn"? No, no, that one had some mega gross scenes...

Then what about that movie series "Killer Puzzle"?

Ah, but I just remembered that in the newest one that came out this year, one guy took out the key from a place where I wouldn't even think someone could hide a key...

"Furuya-kun, did you choose a movie to watch? I ordered the popcorns," asked Nakano-san.

Ah, what should I do?!

Nakano-san ordered the popcorn and they should be here anytime soon but I was too busy thinking about which movies are gross and which ones are not.

"I haven't yet...I just don't know what movies you are okay with, Nakano-san."

"Me? I am okay with anything! I saw all of the "Left Turn" movies last year and I saw the new "Killer Puzzle" movie last week with Hanami!"

"You saw them all?!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, haha, I quite watching horror movies," replied Nakano-san.

Then why was I thinking so hard about what movie to choose so Nakano-san doesn't hate start to hate me...?

Well, at least we can choose a movie easily now.

"Oh, that's great to hear, then how about we take a look at "Don't Look 2" or "Meatman"?

"I've heard about "Meatman", my friends said it's super spooky!" said Nakano-san.

"Okay, if it's so scary then let's see for ourselves, haha," I replied.

"Yeah! Go go!

Oh, yeah, and turn off the lights for the full cinema effect, hehe." Nakano-san giggled at me.

Did Nakano-san just say to turn off the lights?!

We are going to be in complete darkness watching a movie in the same bed!

Isn't that totally what couples do?!

I turned off the lights, we got into the bed, and turned on the movie.

"Furuya-kun, here is the popcorn, don't be shy and get some!"

"Oh, thanks, Nakano-san. Are they with butter?"

"Yep! Totally covered in butter, I love my popcorn extra greasy, haha."

Nakano-san laughed out loud.

"Guess we have the same taste!" I said as I laughed.

"I guess so, Furuya-kun."

Nakano-san looked me in the eyes and then smiled as she looked away at the TV screen.

We just lay down and watched the movie without saying a word while eating popcorn.

And then this happened...

"Come here, I will show you how a meat should be butchered!" exclaimed the killer.

"No, no, don't come near me! HELP!!" The girl screamed loud.

Well, it's not as scary as I thought, Nakano-san is probably bored right now.

I look at Nakano-san and she shrank like a shrimp and was getting glimpses of the movie through her fingers.

"Nakano-san, are you okay?! I thought you said that you watch horror movies a lot?!" I asked Nakano-san.

"Yes...I do watch horror movies often but I am a huge scaredy cat but I still like watching them..."

Nakano-san replied.

"You should've told me earlier, Nakano-san," I said.

And then at that moment, the killer jumped out of the closet with his huge butchering hammer.

"Kyaah~!!" Nakano-san screamed out loud.

Nakano-san jumped up because of the jump scare and then she grabbed my hand and shriveled.

"Nakano-san, are you okay?!" I asked worriedly.

Nakano-san didn't say anything, only shriveled in fear.

Nakano-san really seems to be a scaredy cat, but somehow that makes her look even cuter...

I am terrible for thinking something like that while she is shriveling next to me.

But most importantly, Nakano-san grabbed my hand?!

And she still hasn't let go of it, I am sweating so bad from nervousness but it may be a bad choice to let go of her hand right now since she seems so scared.

"Furuya-kun..." Nakano-said quietly.

"Furuya-kun...Please don't let go of my hand." Nakano-san couldn't look me in the eye while talking to me.

"Sure, Nakano-san, I won't let you go," I replied to Nakano-san while looking away at the wall by my side.

In what situation am I?! I am sweating so hard, is Nakano-san okay with that?!

I kept holding Nakano-san's hand and we continued watching the movie.

Then the movie ended.

The movie finally ended, huh?

Nakano-san still hasn't said anything to me, though...

Should I say something first? For example: "Was the movie fun?"

No, no, definitely not that one.

Nakano-san seemed so scared.

Then Nakano-san gripped my hand harder and turned her head toward me.

"Nakano-san?"

Nakano-san came closer to me and then she whispered in my ear.

"Furuya-kun, thank you for comforting me today."

Nakano-san smiled as she said it, let go of my hand, and went to the bathroom.

Wait, what? What was that?!

I feel like my heart is going to explode, I can't believe that just happened!

I must be dreaming, surely, this is all a dream, right?!

Nakano-san came back from the bathroom and just said:

"It's getting late, Furuya-kun, we should get some sleep, right? Haha."

"Yeah, we should get some rest. Good night, Nakano-san." I said to Nakano-san.

Nakano-san didn't look at me and just got under the covers.

And so we went to sleep.

It's the morning now, I woke up and opened my eyes.

'Ah~ I am still feeling kinda tired." I said as I yawned.

"Nakano-san?"

I look at the other side of the bed and she isn't there.

Maybe she woke up earlier and went straight home?

Kinda cold without saying goodbye, though...

That's not typical of Nakano-san.

Then at that moment.

"Furuya-kun, good morning~!" Nakano-san exclaimed as she came from the bathroom.

"Good morn-"

Wait, wait, wait a minute, hold up! Why is Nakano-san only wearing a TOWEL?!?!

"Nakano-san, excuse me, but why are you only wearing a towel?!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"I just took a shower, why? Did you perhaps want to join me, Furuya-kun~?"

Nakano-san giggled.

"I-I..." I stuttered on my words because I don't know how to react in any way.

W-WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO IN THIS SITUATION, SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!
