Chapter 26:

Level 8-1

My V-Tube Avatar is the Wrong Gender!?

„Love is dead! I can no longer believe in true love! I have been deceived! Misled! Absolutely fooled! I have been permanently marked – scarred! By this one individual ... whose name shall never graze my tongue again.“

[Did we ... enter the Sturm und Drang era of Gaia the destroya?]

[More like Gaia die Zerstörerin]

[Not into theatre, but honestly?]

„So, in order to celebrate this occasion, I decided for today’s stream we are going to play a game so anti-love, I must enjoy, I assume!“

[If last stream was just a set-up for this joke I’m gonna cry lmao]

[Rethinking my life choices rn ...]

[What has Gaia (d?)evolved to?]

I turned off the overlay, started up the game and let the happy go lucky music of the Doki Doki Citerature Llub title screen play.

Was I being dramatic? Definitely. Was it kind of scummy to let my personal irl experiences dictate my stream? Mmmmm. I didn’t want to think about it. At that moment. In that moment this was a very good way to just vent.

[Oh wow, yeah, she’s in a mood for sure]

[Die normies!]

„Would have played Dchool Says, but since that is fully animated, it wouldn’t be fun. Also, I fear the copyright.“

The first text box appeared.

I did my best genki voice to shout out a loud motivated „Heeeeeeeyyy!“

When the next text box appeared, I was taken aback for just a moment. I completely forgot that the game had, of course, a male protagonist. And no voice acting. Meaning it would be up to the streamer – that’s me – to supplement the voices for the characters.

Quick reminder: I think it would be very suspicious for me to be too good at making a male voice.

So, I tried my best to have my voice sound like a girl trying to do a male voice impression.

Yeah, I know, not weird and confusing at all.

„I sEe An AnNoYiNg GiRl RuNnInG tOwArD mE fRoM tHe DiStAnCe.“

[Oh my god, it’s Batman]

[What was that voice lololol]

[This has so much meme potential]

„Oh my god, you guys, reading the chat, I really don’t want to know what I just sounded like, hahah,“ I said, switching back to my regular voice.

Immediately this prompted my viewers to send in a couple of donations. Some of them requested me to say certain lines using my „Batman“ voice.

„I aM vEnGeAnCe!“

„JuSt MoNiKa!“

„BuT iT wAs Me DiO!“

Needless to say, I had fun.

This was not how I expected my stream to go, but I was so glad about it. Despite all the stress, that being a content creator brought in, especially considering my situation, I was glad I could still have fun like this.

Until the doorbell rang.

I ignored it.

It rang again.

I ignored it.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang fooooooooooooor ... a long time.

The chat started noticing.

[Ummm, is that coming from the stream or?]

[Yep, that sure wasn’t my doorbell]

„Oh, is my doorbell ringing? I wasn’t sure because I got my headphones on. Lemme check real quick. Guess I’ll be pausing the stream for a couple minutes. Good thing I can rest my vocal cords, now, lol.“

Without even having finished my sentence I took off my imaginary headphones and switched to the pause overlay.

I didn’t really know, who would ring at my doorbell, especially at this hour.

„Coming!“ I shouted over another long ring.

I muttered some curses, as I opened the door.

It was him.

„It’s you.“

The deceiver. The misleader. The absolute fool.

Wait, scratch that last one.

It was my one and only ...

„Crush.“

„Hi, Guy. Sorry, we need to talk.“
