Chapter 4:

Chapter 1

Second Life Villain

Chapter 1

*scream* *scream*

“One more push”

*grunting*

“Good job, you did good my dear.”

Sounds from the surroundings forced the baby to open his eyes. Looking at the eyes of the man standing in front of him, and looking at the woman on the bed, he was confused. Once again looking at the man, tears filled his eyes, and his screams echoed throughout the room. He was hungry, shocked, new to this world of brightness, he was scared of the big, muscular face in front of him, and most of all… he was surprised when he found out he was a newborn.

*where in the living hell am I? I am sure that deity killed me after he stabbed my heart. These little hands, wait, am I a child? This is so much to think about with an empty stoma-*

While thinking about hunger, his mother’s breasts get shoved into his mouth without prior notice. The shock was enough for him to refuse, but he was hungry and had never tasted something as good as that before, so he let her have the honor of feeding him.

“Do you think he will be interested in learning martial arts?” the man who is recognized as his father asked as he came in through the door, he had just walked the old lady whom helped his wife deliver the baby and was getting ready to leave.

“I don’t care too much about that. I just want him to be happy when he grows up!” she replied as she played with the baby’s hands.

“All I want to think about right now is a proper name for our child.” she smiled, giggled, and make funny faces to the child all the while saying that.

“How about Sanguis?” the father suggested while clearing all the things that were used during the delivery.

“What does that mean?” she gave him a look that insisted it was nothing embarrassing.

“A passing merchant once told me that it meant bloody,” he said casually while clearing what was left of the load.

“And you want to name our child that?” she gave him a scornful look that had a deeper meaning to it, but her dear husband was not frightened as he had his back turned to her.

“Yes, after all, he is the only grandchild my father has had... since that event.” A sad atmosphere took over the room, remnants of despair flew zealously around the air with a welcoming feeling.

“He’s still with them isn’t he?” she turned her attention to her newborn baby, and the baby, who had listened to the whole conversation looked in her eyes just the same.

“Yes, I am afraid we have fallen so far,” he said while finally walking to the door. When he stepped outside, he couldn’t hold his anger and tears in anymore, he walked away with drizzles of tears falling onto his cheeks. He never understood why he cried on such a joyful day, maybe it was because he finally had a son or maybe because his father was being tortured every day by the clan that raided theirs, but the only thing he knew was that he wanted his son to have the best life, and he would kill for that purpose.

*I wonder what happened to them… Anyway, from what I have gathered I have been reborn into this child’s body, but their strange clothes mean I am not in the same country as before maybe not even the same continent. I just have to be patient and explore this new place, but first I need sleep.*

---------- 5 years later --------------

*whoosh*

*swing*

Every time the sword was swung it made a welcoming sound to all but the air around it, the man swinging the sword did not mind this as he filled the sword with more fuel to make one of the elements fear it. Five-year-old Sanguis stared while in the corner deeply interested in what is happening.

*T-this man, he is stronger than me in my previous life. Although he isn’t using magic yet, I can tell his strength is out of this world from just swinging that sword. So, this is my father!” he thought with deep respect for the person in front of him.

“Sanguis! You are finally awake, how are you doing buddy?” his father called out after noticing his son watching.

Hesitation overwhelmed the child as he had not seen his father ever due to his work, he heard from his mother that his father was coming over but he didn’t have anything to confirm that was his father except the lingering feeling in his chest.

*Thinking logically as a five-year-old would, I shouldn’t approach him without knowing him bu-*

“Go ahead and say hi, that’s your dad,”

Turning around to see who would dare sneak upon him for he is the young master of this household, he sees a beautiful dark-skinned woman with white hair. She had a hair clip holding up her hair, and a smile that can charm any man.

“Mother, so it’s you,” he said nervously as he still cannot get over his mother’s lovely and inviting smile.

“What is father doing?” he asked curiously, not wanting to hurt his mother by saying 'why is father doing some unnecessarily idiotic exercises instead of practicing his magic'.

“That is Martial Arts.”

“Martial Arts? Isn’t that the grappling skill? Why doesn’t he just practice magic?” he was confused as magic was the greatest power in the world.

“Magic? Do you mean the art of chanting?”

“Art of chanting?”
