Chapter 25:

My Choice

The Worst Hero

A short time later we arrived at the slave trader's store. It looks like an ordinary store like any other at first sight, in my mind I thought of something much worse. As soon as we got there, Mahina started to sweat very cold and her legs started to shake a lot.

Next to this store, the only thing that we can say that was "different" from another common store, was that this one had a fence with a flat ground full of sand and 3 wooden poles in the middle of this area. The sun was very hot, and that place looked scalding, it was so hot outside that I myself asked Mahina to let us into the store.

The inside of the store also looked somewhat normal. In fact it was even strange, because there were no slaves or monsters anywhere. There was also no one to attend to us and upon asking Mahina, she said I should just wait a bit. After a few minutes, a strange man with glasses came out of a door behind the counter.

- "Oh, sorry for the delay, I didn't know there was a customer."

I got up and went towards the counter immediately, unlike Mahina who walked to his side. As soon as she reached his side, he excused himself and put handcuffs on Mahina's hands and arms, which was quite strange, because he had not put the handcuffs on when she left, but he did when she arrived ?

- "Well, sir, we have quite a few options of slaves and monsters that you might like very much... demi humans, combat monsters or cart-pulling monsters, and even slaves of very rare breeds..."

- "Look, I'm not here to buy any slaves, I just heard that you also trade and sell items, I'll be a hero then..."

- "Tsc, I don't do that kind of business anymore, kid. Don't waste my time and get out of here!"

It wasn't worth wasting my time with this guy, in fact, it was him who wasted my time. Besides, I didn't feel good in this place, although it looks like a cozy place at first sight, I don't know... it has a strange air...

- "Ok, bye."

As I turned to leave, I remembered Mahina. I knew there was nothing I could do to help her, but I felt as if I "should" help her. Surely, the other slaves must suffer as much as she does, and it gives me inexplicable anger, but for some reason, especially Mahina....

For some reason, I can't get her out of my mind.
