Ostrich

So What If I'm a Girl

Lan Du's cold gaze landed upon the small group, they only five people so they felt slightly overwhelmed since Lan Du also had three others behind her.But the odd part was that the three didn't seem to have any intention on fighting them, Lan Du however stared at them like a fish on a plate.


"Come, let me see if your bones are strong enough"Lan Du gestured for all of them to come

"Stop!I've called the police, if you kids make another move, I'll fine all of you!"A nearby citizen shouted out, Lan Du turned to see it was a middle aged man.

She took back the knuckles and tossed it to Tie Wang

"I've lost interest, lets go eat, I haven't been here for so long that just thinking back makes me hungry"Drool ran down the side of her mouth as she wiped it away hastily

The man however didn't let them through the restaurant door

"you kids caused so much problem for the public, wait till the police gets here"He growledLan Du tucked her lips and sighed

"fine, we'll wait"

Her room mates and and the girls were all surprised that Lan Du agreed so easily, they expected her o break his fingers or something.

Lan Du noticed their suspicious gaze and turned her head


"Why are you all giving me that look!I'm an upright person, I don't beat citizens!"Lan Du shouted

The six of them gave her a look saying 'sure, if you're upright, then we're buddhas'

Lan Du stepped back as tears rolled down her face, she suddenly seemed so vulnerable and weak.Her gaze expressed betrayal and rejection.

"How cruel of you guys, I have never done anything against morals yet you treat me with such coldness"She muttered

The six of them suddenly had an urge to beat her, but knew they couldn't win even if they grouped up on her so they could only hold it in.

Lan Du realised their indifference and sighed

"Can't you guys show something?I take pride in acting"

"Yes, you take pride in it yet you act so shameless with it"Xie Ying and Xie Jing spoke up and rolled their eyes

Lan Du laughed awkwardly

"How so?I merely-"

"Freeze!Who reported this and immediately tell me what happened"A rough voice rang out

The police arrived, there was four in total, three guys and a woman that Lan Du found familiar.She thought and suddenly remembered, it was the female police that she met when 

she just broke her arms.

The man who reported summarised the situation and walked to the sideThe police turned to Lan Du, then back at the young man who still had his head stuck in the ground.

"you did this?"One of the male police said coldly

"no"Lan Du replied calmly

"The man said you did, do you still deny it?"

"I didn't do it, that young lad said he always dreamed of being an ostrich so he suddenly stuck his head into the dirt"Lan Du sighed and shook her head, "He is young and healthy yet he does such a thing, I pity him, maybe there's something wrong with his head"

The police wanted to laugh at that reason but shook his head

"Do you think we're idiots!Who would believe that reason"He shouted

Lan Du nodded

"Let me explain from the beginning then"She pointed at the young man and her eyes became serious

"It all began when that young man saw an ostrich in the wild, he was amazed by an ostrich's gracefulness and speed despite lacking the ability to fly like other birds, he goes home and researches in what ostriches are known for and comes to the result of ostriches burying their heads in the sand, he thinks to himself 'wow, I wanna be free like an ostrich' so he comes over to my friends to witness his gracefulness, my friends didn't agree so he decided to use force, I then stepped in to stop his foolishness and prevent him from harming himself, yet who would have thought, he just grinned at me and shoved his head into the dirt, I was not able to stop him"Lan Du shook her head in pity and grievance.

The six behind Lan Du sniggered but didn't laughed completely.The same went with the police, their lips twitched and almost laughed when listening to her narration.

'l-lad, w-we want a proper e-explanation"The police struggled to speak without letting out a small laughter

The small group of young men felt humiliated yet they also wanted to laugh at that story.While the polices were distracted ever so slightly, the group of young men saw Lan Du giving them a cold dead smile as she gestured with her hand across her neck.

The meaning was easy to know [Follow my story or you'll be dead the next time I see you]

The group felt chills run down, they didn't know why but they felt an intense sense of fear rise up as they stared at Lan Du who now has a polite expression when the police turned to her.

"But what I said was the truth, my body is so frail, how can I even shove someone into the dirt"Lan Du tucked her lips and acted cute in front of the police

The female police then took a closer look and her eyes widened in shock

'Isn't that kid the one I met last time!Frail body my a*s!You kicked a police across the pavings while being injured!'She didn't voice her thoughts out loud but she was still shocked.

Lan Du turned to her and gave her a friendly smile and a wave, she then realised that Lan Du remembers her and waved back secretly.

"Officers, if you don't believe me, you can ask that group there, they came with that ostrich boy, they can testify for me, and the crowd can testify I never threatened them while waiting for you to arrive"Lan Du said innocently

The officers all turned to the small group of boys who were now sweating buckets.They then saw Lan Du giving them a big wide smile but her gesture once again said:

[tell the truth and you'll become the next ostrich boy]

They stiffened and nodded their heads

"Our friend indeed had some mental problems, h-he also showed us this back at his home b-but found it wasn't enough s-so he c-came out here t-to play ostrich"One of them spoke up nervously and fiddled with his fingers

The rest nodded vigorously in agreement

The police finally couldn't take it and began laughing out loud

"D-Don't call the p-police over s-such t-trivial matters"He waved his hand and gestured for the rest to leave

"Have a safe trip"Lan Du waved her hand happily and called out

Her friends all snickered as they watched her wave the police farewell, how did she turn such an unbelievable story into reality?It was so clearly a lie yet what she did left even the the man who reported the issue in shock.He now wondered if he really wronged Lan Du and had a slight intent to apologise.

Lan Du turned back to her friends

"Lets go eat, I'm starving"Lan Du said while drooling as she walked into the restaurant first.Inside, she went to the counter and placed a card on the desk.

"Reservation number 4"Lan Du said

The receptionist scanned the card and verified the time

"Head down the hallway and enter room number 419, we will have someone give you the course lists after you enter"The lady said politely

Lan Du nodded and led the rest into the room.Xie Ying and Xie Jing hoged the spots beside Lan Du which left her room mates raging with jealousy.

"Sir, which course would you order?"An employee walked in with a small list in his hand and a notebook.

Lan Du didn't look and replied

"The golden street course"She said

The man lifted his brows

"Right away"He said happily and walked out.Moments later, people came in with water, towels to wash their hands and also eating utensils.

"Your meal with arrive soon"They bowed and walked out

"Since our first meal together was this, I think we should eat this as well today"Lan Du smiled and said

Fatty nodded

"Though the last time we came...it wasn't the best experience"He rubbed his face as he remembered the time he got beaten up here.

Lan Du laghed

"Don't worry, last time was just bad timing, whats the chance of people causing trouble the one time I choose to come here with you guys?"Lan Du grinned and said

"mn, makes sense, last time was just ur bad luck"Fatty nodded and said

"Today we will properly eat our fill, last time we were disrupted by some maggots, this time, lets take our time and chat"Lan Du poured herself some water and took a sip.

Her mouth was a bit dry from all the talking previously

"Lan Du, how did you come up with such a strange story?"Ling Shou askedLan Du chuckled

"When I saw that fool stuck in the ground, an ostrich was the first thing I thought of, as for the story, I wanted to mess with the police, but to think they would actually believe me"Lan Du suddenly started laughing as her face became slightly red

"eh, the water tastes quite nice"She poured herself another cup and drank

The others gave her a strange look, Hong Ling poured a cup and sniffed it, he expression immediately changed as she took the cup from Lan Du's hand.

"Its alcohol!No wonder Lan Du was acting so strange just now"She exclaimed in shock

Lan Du glanced at the cup and laughed

"Alcohol?Since I already took a sip, then pour me another"She said giddily

Xie Ying and Xie Jing grabbed Lan Du's hands to prevent her from taking another cup, but strangely, the drunk Lan Du seemed more attractive than usual.She seemed more approachable and...seductive?

Lan Du flung her arms over the sibling's shoulders

"Ah, I'm gonna miss the two of you when I leave, but 3 weeks shouldn't be too long"Lan Du laughed and reached for an empty cup.

"Stop him!"Hong Ling called out

Tie Wang and Fatty came over to help cold down Lan Du, after having most of them hold her down did they manage to stop her.

"Lan Du is seriously scary, his brute strength alone requires all of us to pin him"Fatty wiped his forehead and sighed

Lan Du struggled slightly and stopped

"Why's everyone holding me down, ah, I smell the food"Lan Du laughed strangely and sat stillAfter some time, they let go of her and sat back down after verifying that she wouldn't reach for another cup of alcohol.

"Why did they even give us alcohol?Did they give us the wrong container?"

The doors then opened and people came in with plates in their hands.They placed it on the table and was about to leave when hong Ling called out.

"Excuse me, but the container you gave us is alcohol, not water"She said

The waiter was shocked, he quickly checked and bowed his head

"I'm sorry, it seems the drinks got mixed up, I will switch it out immediately"He grabbed it and left with the container in hand.

Later, another waiter came in with regular water.

Lan Du was now a bit more passive when the food came in, she ate with a blissful expression.

"Nothing beats the food here, hehehe, here, take a bite"She picked up some meat with her chopsticks and placed it in front of Xie Ying.

Xie Ying blushed lightly and opened her mouth.Lan Du's face was still red from the alcohol, she fed Xie Ying quickly and turned to Xie Jing.

"eh, Xie Ying, when did you jump to the right side?"Lan DU rubbed her eyes and mumbled

The group stared ta her

"His alcohol tolerance...its weak isn't it"

"yeah...he can't even tell the difference between the sisters anymore, should we have him sleep?"Hong Ling suggested

The others began considering that idea, but Lan Du stopped suddenly, as if snapped out of daze she looked around with a confused look on her face.

"huh?Where the hell is this, and why does my breath stink of alcohol"She looked around in confusion and the chopsticks in her hand snapped under her grip.

"What did I say or do"He tone was completely serious and seemed a bit desperate as well

"ah, Lan Du, you're finally back, but don't worry, except for flirting with your lovely girlfriends, nothing else"Hong Ling giggled and said

Lan Du sat back down and felt relieved, she turned to the two by her side

"Well, since I already started, then..."She picked up a piece of meat and placed it half in her mouth before turning to Xie Jing.

"say ah"She said with a teasing smile on her face

Her intimate action took them by surprise, but it wasn't the first time thy have seen this so they weren't shocked, but accepting it was another matter.

"this-L-Lan Du, n-not here"Xie Jing blushed and mumbled

Lan Du chuckled and ate the meat

She then licked the side of her lips and leaned back on her chair.

"Xie Jing, Xie Ying, if you have anything you want, tell me, I'll see if I can buy it for you before or when I go"Lan Du suddenly said with a soft expression

The two exchanged looked before shaking their heads

"Being with you for now is enough"They said in unison

"How about souvenirs?"Lan Du thought for a bit and asked

Fatty, Ling Shou and Tie wang turned their heads

"But you rejected us when we asked for souvenirs!"They shouted out

Lan Du sneered

"I've already bought you three things, you actually still have face to ask for souvenirs"Lan Du gave them a disdainful look and said

Lan Du stretched her arms

"Never mind, I'll see when I get to my destination, I will need to go prepare after we finish 

eating so now is the last chance we speak until I return"Lan Du closed her eyes and smiled lightly

"Well, it won't be too long anyways, anyways, take care when I'm not here, call me if anyone troubles you, I'll send people to take care of them"

Lan Du stood up

"It's mean a pleasant day...good luck in your school days"Lan Du was prepared to leave when a hand grabbed her, it wasn't Xie Jing nor Xie Ying, not Hong Ling who grabbed her.

When she turn her head, she saw Hong Ling's hand coming her way, before she could react, it slapped her across the face.

"eh..."

The whole room became silent

"Lan Du, you little twerp, leaving the twins so coldly, should I beat some sense into you!Give them a proper farewell dammit!"She shouted

Lan Du realised why she was so angry but was still a bit confused, wasn't this a proper farewell?She rubbed her chin and a thought came to mind.

"Can you four step out for a bit"Lan Du said, ignoring the searing pain on her cheeks

Hong Ling nodded in satisfaction and walked out while grabbing Lan Du's room mates along with her.Lan Du shook her head helplessly as she watched Hong Ling walk out.

"She really is a tigress"She muttered as if she herself wasn't a girl as well

Lan Du then approached the twins slowly and embraced the both of them

"It seems my leave was a bit abrupt, let me give you two a proper farewell"Lan Du smiled and stepped back

She lifted held Xie Ying's head gently and gave her a kiss on the forehead

"sweet"Lan Du muttered with a smile, Xie Ying blushed intensely as her mind blanked and passed out.Lan Du then glanced at Xie Jing.

"I wonder if you two would taste different"Lan Du licked the side of her lips seductively and leaned closer

Xie Jing blushed as she closed her eyes, preparing for it but the moment Lan Du pressed her lips in her forehead, her mind blanked out as well.

Lan Du chuckled, she placed Xie Jing on her back to carry her, but before she knew it, Xie Jing already grappled into her back like a koala.Lan Du smiled and then carried Xie Ying in her arms, but like Xie Jing, she also clutched onto her with her arms around Lan Du's neck.


"This..."Lan Du felt awkward but carried the two out anyways.
