The moment Lan Du stepped out of the room, four pairs of gazes landed upon her, it was followed by an awkward atmosphere and silence.

"um...would you believe me if I said I really didn't do anything strange"Lan Du asked nervously towards Hong Ling who was giving him the strangest of gazes.

"no"They all shook their heads and replied

Lan Du sighed

"It doesn't matter, I hope you're satisfied though, the twins seem pretty happy about it, its just a bit sudden for them"Lan Du smiled at the thought of their expressions when she kissed their foreheads.

Hong Ling nodded

"Looking at their sweet faces, they do seem satisfied, good, now you can leave"She laughed proudly

Lan Du however didn't move

"Why aren't you leaving?"Hong Ling asked in confusion

Lan Du chuckled

"These two wouldn't let go of me, how am I suppose to leave"

"..."

The next moment, Hong Ling was trying to pull the two off Lan Du, after a few minutes, they were able to successfully do so.Lan Du bid them farewell and turned her head.

Xie Ying and Xie Jing who was placed at the side opened their eyes

"You two really didn't let loose, even when you woke up, you still grappled him like koalas"Hong Ling giggled and said giddily

The twins blushed

"w-we wanted to stay with him as much as possible"They fiddled with their fingers and said with a red face.

Hong Ling smiled and placed a hand on both their heads.

"Its only a few weeks, it'll be over before you know it"She said encouraginglyThe two smiled and gave her a small nod

Lan Du didn't go back to the dorm, she headed straight for the mercenary guild with a small bag on her back.She entered and went to the counter.She wore her mask before she entered.

"I need an empty room, the size doesn't matter"Lan Du said hurriedly

The accountant stared at the person in front of him with a strange look.

"How long will you need it for?"He asked

"A few hours"Lan Du replied

The accountant nodded and gave her a key

"Turn to the left and look for the room with the same number as the key, on the door is also a scanner where you use your mercenary badge to enter so if you don't have it, its best that you go back"He explained

Lan Du left after he finished explaining and headed to the room.She found the number and was about to open the door when a hand barred her off from doing so.

"Kid, you seem new so you probably don't know the rules here, only the strong can do what they want, hand over the key and we can let you off"Three men stood behind her with a sinister smile on their faces.

Currently at the front counter, the man shook his head

"That lad should be new, no wonder he didn't flinch when he asked for a room, lets hope he doesn't get ruined by the other mercenaries"He sighed and turned to the hallway Lan Du left off in.

A few seconds later, a body came flying out of that very hallway.It was one of the men that Lan Du met at the door, his face was beaten black and blue while his eyes were overturned.

After, sounds of wails and cries came out the hallway before two more bodies came flying out.Then a slender figure walked out, even though she was wearing a mask, Lan Du's cold gaze was not hidden away.

"It seems I was not informed of some minor rules around here, but according to the rule, the strong preys on the weak"Lan Du kicked the nearest body she threw out.

"Since thats the case, you should have some savings from taking from other newbies, right?Cough em up"Lan Du said coldly

The three of them fell to their knees and held out a a card each.

Lan Du grabbed the card with a cold look

"Next time you do this, you'll also be paying for your own hospital bills, trust me, they won't be cheap"Lan Du then turned her head and walked away under the shocked gazes of other mercenaries.

Most of them were veterans so they knew what the rule in that hallway was, yet they didn't expect the newbie to immediately send bodies flying on out.In fact, there has never been a case where the newbie beats a veteran mercenary!

The accountant was especially surprised, he expected Lan Du to crawl out all beaten up, yet she was the one who actually beat people up.

Lan Du entered her given room and sat down.She then reached into her bag and took out a red bottle.

"Lets see if the Karmic Dew is as magical as they described it to me"She opened the lip and emptied the bottle in one gulp.

The moment she finished the bottle, her body froze and she dropped the bottle.Her veins began to bulge as her eyes became bloodshot.Pain surged into her body and her lungs felt as if they were about to burst.Her throat was burning and red lines slowly formed around her neck in a strange pattern.

Lan Du clenched her throat and coughed multiple times, every time she coughed however, the more intense the pain became.As if she was drinking molten magma, her body felt hot and her throat was scorched.

She fell to the ground and her body twitched, slowly, she stopped coughing as she gritted her teeth.She didn't stop because the affects were disappearing, it was out of pure preservation.Her eyes soon returned to normal however the pain was still severe.

Her mind raced, under the intense pain, she could hear nothing but the sound of her own heartbeats, it was slowly speeding up.

Her conditions lasted for hours yet she didn't let out a sound, as if she was dead, she laid there motionlessly, yet despite being motionless, the inside of her body was in shambles.

The pattern on her neck stopped forming, it was now a complete image...a red lotus.

Lan Du felt the pain disappear, but she immediately took out bottles of water and started drinking as if her life depends on it.After drinking five bottles worth of water did she finally stop and let out a sigh.

She channeled her spiritual strength and felt a foreign energy run through her body.

'It's a bit different from spiritual strength...unlike it, this foreign energy seems to be for my body rather than spiritual strength'

Lan Du though for a bit and clenched her fists

'My grip power has increased by about 20%...not bad, spiritual strength is for external influences, this energy I got from the Karmic Dew however seems to for internal influences'

Lan Du smiled and stood up, she realised that her body now has a stench of sweat and blood.

She packed her bag and walked out the room, everyone who walked passed her would give way out of fear or respect.Some who weren't there when Lan Du threw the people out were pulled away by their mates.

"Why are you all giving way to him?"One asked

"You weren't here before but that kid is scary, he sent three Viper ranked mercenaries flying because they tried to take his keys"His mate replied

"Three!Is he at tiger ranked then?"

"No, he seems to just recently risen to Viper rank, but I heard someone say that Ba Tan would have promoted him further if not for not having enough influence to do so"He whispered

Nearby mercenaries were shocked when they listened and poked their heads in

"Whats his name"

"Little Devil"The mercenary replied

"...."

Lan Du then walked over to the reception

"I'm here to confirm the escort mission for Yang Xin date"Lan DU said calmlyThe accountant was shocked to see Lan Du, he quickly flipped through the screens and found the mission.

"Ah, its tomorrow afternoon, the others along with the employer will arrive here at 12"He replied carefully

Lan Du nodded and headed out, she was about to leave when someone placed a hand over her shoulder.She reacted immediately and was about to punch him when the person who did so shouted:

"Wait, I'm on the same mission!"He called out

Lan Du paused and stared at the middle aged man in front of her

"ehehe, I heard you were on a mission for Yang Xin as well, my name is Liu Bu, we'll be comrades for the next few weeks"He reached out his hand and said with a smile

Lan Du still had her guards up against him, she reached out her hand as well and shook his hand.

"Just call me Little Devil on the mission, since you said your part, I'll be leaving now"Lan Du turned her head and left without saying anything else.

Liu Bu ran up

"Since we'll be comrades, how about we get to know each other better"He was about to swing his arm over Lan Du's shoulders when Lan Du flicked it away.

"I'd prefer if you kept your distance, last time a friend got too close, I ended up beating him for a few minutes before I realised it was him"Lan Du said with a straight face

Liu Bu froze

"Y-you're joking right?"He laughed awkwardly

Lan Du also began to laugh

"Yes, I am joking"

Liu Bu then started laughing along with her and flung his arms over her shoulders like good buddies

"You really scared me, I thought you were serious about it"He laughed cheerfully

Lan Du laughed even louder

"Yes, I was joking, I knew it was him but because I was in a bad mood, I decided to beat him for a good few minutes, hahahaha"Lan Du added a little after

"Hahaha really?Who you're ba-"Liu Bu suddenly paused, realising what Lan Du had said, he moved back by a few steps warily.

A smile crept onto Lan Du's face

"Oh, why did you run?I won't eat you...but going to the hospital will be unavoidable"Lan Du said with hollow eyes which scared Liu Bu.

Liu Bu laughed nervously

"ahaha, w-why would it be unavoidable"

Lan Du turned her head

"Nothing, I'll let you off this one time, but there won't be a next time, however, what you said is right, we should get to know each other before the mission"Lan Du stretched her arms and continued walking

Liu Bu smiled and followed up, he walked beside her without getting too close.

"Why are you covered in sweat?What did you do in the rooms?"He asked curiously

Lan Du chuckled

"I needed a quite place for training, I wanted to see how much kilos I can tie to my body while standing on one hand before I collapsed, I was barely able to get up to 150 kilos before I collapsed, I can only manage 100 kilos without collapsing"Lan Du said embarrassingly

Liu Bu stared at her as if she was a monster

"y-you're joking right?"He asked again

Lan Du laughed

"Of course, I actually collapsed from bad balance and not the weights, honestly, holding 150 kilos would be difficult, but not impossible, but for now I use 80 kilos since it is most efficient at my level"Lan Du said it as if it was an embarrassing thing but Liu Bu stared at her in disbelief.

"Are you really a human?"He asked

Lan Du glanced at him

"Of course"She replied

They stopped at a gym after a while

"I'm going to take a quick shower inside, you can wait outside"Lan Du said and entered the gym, she didn't want to go back to the dorm since Liu Bu was with her.

Liu Bu nodded, Lan Du didn't take long showering and came out only after a few minutes.

"Alright, remember when I said that going to the hospital was unavoidable?"Lan Du glanced at him and asked

Liu Bu shuddered

"y-yes, b-but I'm perfectly healthy"He said with a trace of fear

Lan Du chuckled and walked in the direction of the hospital

Liu Bei didn't know what was going on but he still decided to follow along with her.He had a trace of fear but also wanted to know why she was going to the hospital.

When they arrived, Lan Du arrived and walked in.Liu Bu glanced at her curiously as she seemed to be very familiar with the place.

"Why are we here?"He asked

Lan Du smiled bitterly beneath her mask

"I'm here to visit my mother before I leave tomorrow"Lan Du said and entered a room, a woman laid there peacefully.

Lan Du walked to the side with the window and sat down beside the woman. She placed her hand onto her mother's hand, her gaze was full of warmth and care at the moment.

Liu Bu watched and felt touched in his heart

"What happened to her?"He asked

"I don't know either, at first it was just a coma from shock, but as time passed, her conditions grew worse, the doctors couldn't diagnose her either"Lan Du shook her head, but right after, she took out a small dagger and threw it.

Liu Bu was shocked and was about to dodge when the dagger flew past him instead, a hand reached out and grabbed the dagger.

"You two really never give up do you?"Lan Du sneered and said haughtily

Liu Bu stepped towards Lan Du and looked behind him, realising two people behind him.

"Who are you tow!Identify yourselves"He shouted

"You're not worthy to know"They replied

Lan Du laughed

"You two sound as if you're some big shot, but tell that father of mine, piss off unless he wants to see me killing his soldiers"Lan Du smirked and threw another dagger over

The dagger was caught easily again by Wang Shu.He crossed his arms and laughed

"Kid, last time you got me with poison because I was caught off guard, this time, I won't-eh..."Wang Shu suddenly felt his head twirl and his mind became dizzy

"Dumbass, won't get caught off guard my ass, in the end you still got poisoned"Lan Du snorted and crossed her legs

Liu Bu stepped besides her

"Who are they?"He asked

"My old man's subordinates, they were sent by him to keep watch on me, but so far, they have been very entertaining"Lan Du laughed

Wang Liu frowned as he held Wang Shu in his arms.Wang Shu was completely knocked out by the poison, though it wasn't life threatening, he won't be waking up for a few minutes.

Lan Du smiled and waved her hand

"You two only know how to camp the hospital, little Wang, tell me, what have you learnt about me so far?"Lan Du held another small dagger in her hand and fiddled with it.

Wang Liu sighed

"Apart from the fact that you're a complete and utter sadist, I really can't say much"He shook his head in depression

Liu Bu stared at Lan Du and took a few steps back when he heard that Lan Du was a sadist

Lan Du chuckled

"I'm getting bored of this game, how about this, let's play my game"Lan Du let out a sly smile and said slickly, she twirled the dagger in her hand with a joyous smile beneath her mask.

"And what would that be?"Wang Liu asked

"Lets see if you know when and what you're poisoned by"Lan Du clasped her hand and laughed

Wang Liu was confused at first, but he suddenly felt a a pain rush into his head and his right hand slowly became purple.

His eyes were wide in shock, he quickly looked around but couldn't find anything suspicious

Lan Du sat there smiling

"Although this poison can't harm you, giving you a bothersome time should be more than enough"Lan Du leaned back and laughed

Wang Liu was completely unaware in when he was poisoned

"When!"He shouted

Lan Du laughed cheekily and pointed at Wang Shu's arms.He looked down and realised that there was a strange liquid on it.

"Your stupid brother crossed his arms when he still hand poison on his hand, honestly, I didn't expect to get you as well, but oh well"Lan Du stood up and walked over to the two of them

"Should I hand you two on the hospital walls and call the cops on you?Or should I strip you and throw you onto the roads"Lan Du clasped her hands together and asked cheerfully

Liu Bu shuddered and now knew why they called her a sadist, she wasn't a regular sadist either, she was a complete and utter demon!

Wang Liu gritted his teeth and glared at her

"Oh, don't give me that look...it only makes me want to do it more"Lan Du laughed, her eyes sent chills down Wang Liu's spines.

Liu Bu silently made an oath to himself by the side

'I shall never piss off Little Devil...or he'll make me experience true hell'

Lan Du then walked passed them

"My visit today is over, as for you two, have fun"Lan DU gave the brothers a wink and left the room.Liu Bu followed closely behind her hurriedly.

"Who were they honestly?"He asked

"I told you, my old man's subordinates"Lan Du replied

Liu Bu rubbed his chin

"Is your father influential?"He asked

"Don't ask too many questions or I might need to force you to forget what happened today, but don't worry, I'll pay for brain damage if I do resort to it"Lan Du gave him a smile which only 

scared him even more.
