Chapter 24:

Every end is just a new Beginning

Ex-High Schooler Hero

“You are going to be late!”

He heard the voice of his mother downstairs and knew that it was not true. He was ready for his future. The 16-year-old Fulgor ate his breakfast, kissed his parents on the forehead and went to his first day of school.

On the way he met with Auron and Lapis and the trio walked together to their first day of class.

“So, what are you expecting for this year?” Asked Fulgor.

“Honestly, just a little bit of peace, we already had a lot of enemies last year.” Answered Lapis.

“There are still new techniques for Kazen to teach us. He told us about the Inner Force, the power of the heart and even some martial training.” Continued Auron.

“For sure, a year with a less weird Kazen would be nice. My father has some news about a race of ancient beings made of stone and metal, maybe he would like to know that.”

When they arrived at the school they saw their friends. Miles and Barb were having a great relationship and Scar got more closer with everyone during the vacation.

But all their excitement stopped when they learned that Kazen would not return to school this year. They ran to the library, confronting Loretta.

“Where is Kazen?”

The librarian noticed they learned the man was gone and none seemed happy with that.

“He was fired, of course. I thought he would tell you that.”

“He was fired? But… What about us?” Asked Fulgor.

“Well, do you need Kazen for anything? He already helped you with what you needed.”

“But the Inner Force and…” Said Auron.

“I’m not talking about that, you all grew a lot last year and now Kazen has found his purpose.”

The kids became introspective, and Fulgor wanted to throw lightning somewhere, but he controlled himself.

“You are dating, right? So, can we talk to him?”

Loretta became flustered with the assumption.

“We are not dating! And you should treat me with more respect!”

The trio stared at her with wishing eyes.

“I do have his number, if you want to see him again…”

In the park, Kazen was with Alis and Ferrum, all eating some ice cream.

“Yeah, he has a hotel in the mountains now. He actually seemed to be a decent guy.”

The three friends were talking casually, reconnecting with their old friendships.

“And when are we going to meet your girlfriend?” Asked Alis.

Kazen became red as the fire he controlled.

“She is not my girlfriend… for now. Anyway, I start my new job tomorrow and I can’t mess up again.”

A thunder echoed in the ground as an electric attack came to Kazen. He took it directly when rocks and slashing winds came after. Alis and Ferrum made a shield of ice and metal, as Kazen jumped, dodging the attacks.

“Those guys escaped?” Asked Kazen when he noticed his ex-students.

“You thought you could leave without saying goodbye?” Asked Lapis.

“Well, you see, I just don’t…” He was interrupted by more attacks.

The kids did not stop, and Kazen had to do his best to dodge. This went for some time and the man was smiling during all of it.

“I will also miss you guys, but I've got new things to do. Apparently, there is a kid who can turn into a dinosaur in my new school.”

“And you think we want to hear that?” Asked Auron.

“You are not going to escape so easily.” Continued Lapis.

The three went on an attack, but Kazen hugged them all.

“You grew so much. And don’t worry, you are not going to get rid of me so easily. I still will go to your school to see Loretta. Oh, and you too of course. But now we have to go our separate ways.”

All of them were with water in their eyes but they were interrupted when the whole ground shook and a giant creature appeared.

It was ten meters tall, with skin made from stone and metal and a huge pair of wings.

“The world has denied our existence for too long! Now it’s time for the Hadmetal to return!” Screamed the monster.

The kids looked at Kazen, but the man raised his hands powerless.

“It is your time to shine now, kids. If you need help, just ask, but I believe in you.”

The three kids transformed to their Third Releases and went to fight the monster, while Kazen and his friends just watched. His phone started to ring and he saw Loretta calling.

“I have to go guys, let's meet up again next week.”

Kazen said goodbye to his old friends and walked in the opposite direction of the fight, while his students faced the monster, trusting they would win.
