Chapter 10:

EPILOGUE - BRAVE NEW WORLD

Solipsys

“Sir, the blue planet in sector 8 has died.”

“What?! How can this be? It had many more years left.”

“Indeed it did, unfortunately it and the life upon it are gone.”

“The storm?” It asked sullenly.

“I’m afraid not, the ones we collected spoke of an illness. Their kind developed a sort of dead cell they called rot, it was strong enough to reach the core of the planet, it decayed from the inside out.”

“And the survivors?”

“They have yet to recover. Agent Hzofalis is on standby to train them.”

“Good. Keep me posted.”

“Of course, sir”

The monitor near him beeped on, a blue screen and white text scrolled down quickly.

“Sir?”

“Call the colours. The elders have requested a summit.”

“Yes sir.”

“Galabar!”

“Sir?”

“… sorry, it’s nothing.”

Galabar smiled, “good luck, sir.”

It’s form revealed, not of this world, withered and battle scarred with the letters ARK in red and black across its collar.

“We will end this suffering, one way or another.” It muttered to itself before leaving.

Solipsys: terminated.

Commencing Phase II: The Edge of Eternity

“Star page #3839: today is the first day in the month of fire. The Andromeda Galaxy has bore next to no fruit, there are no signs of intelligent life.

Commander Gordarlax has informed me my next assignment, in the nearby Galaxy, is to be aborted. It was a small blue planet named Earth, apparently it was similar to my home planet of Gaia. Tybyr, one of Hzofalis’ men extracted a pair from the planet but they are still young.

It does remind me of how I came to join Ark. My mother woke me late in the night. Though it should have been dark, it was as bright as high noon on the first day of Olympia. But it was not the warm glow of the sun, it was a blood red.

I looked to the heavens and saw… the sky was falling.

I, along with my friend Lilith, were rescued by the commander and brought to their planet to live out our lives.

But I wanted more than survival, I wanted to find the mystery of the universe, and protect those in danger.

Currently, each Galaxy is feeling the affects of a cosmic storm that brings chaos and calamity to all it reaches. Eventually it will touch every soul known to us, and wipe out all that we know. But Ark is fighting this storm, we can find a way to end this nightmare and protect every being in the universe before this great storm puts out the last lights.

I will find the source of the destruction befalling our universe, I will put an end to this great maelstrom.

My name is Adam, signing out.”
