Chapter 17:

Epilogue

Sukeban : Magical Princess Dream Warrior

Sylvia was sitting in her hospital bed, flicking through her phone. She’d been awake for hours by now. When she woke up, there was a big hullabaloo. Doctors and nurses crowded her, using various instruments on her and asking her a ton of questions. And even then, they didn’t know what was wrong.

Sylvia was fine. She knew that. Minny and Kaneko had saved her with magic or something, but it's not like she could tell anyone that. Especially her parents. After a while, the doctors concluded that there really was nothing wrong with her. Apparently, they were going to let her out the next day.

“Knock knock.”

Sylvia looked up. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw who it was.

“Minny!?” She exclaimed.

Minny was standing in the doorway with a bouquet of white carnations. She looked a little shy carrying them as she walked over to Sylvia’s bedside.

“Hi!” She responded. “I got you flowers. I didn’t know you could get so many for so cheap!”

Sylvia took the flowers and smelled them. “They’re lovely, thanks.”

There was a moment of awkward silence before Minny picked up the conversation. “So, do you remember anything from when you were asleep?”

“Yeah. All of it actually.” Sylvia chuckled. “I know I was basically held against my will, but it was a lot of fun.”

“I think that was the point, but yeah. I get it.” Minny suddenly looked spaced out and more than a little down.

Sylvia asked, “Is there something wrong?”

“...I guess I could just tell you the whole story.”

And so Minny did. She told Sylvia about everything that happened since Halloween. How she didn’t visit her in the hospital, how Kaneko got left in the yard, everything inside Dreamworld and everything after.

“So the wand is gone? You can’t turn into Pastel Princess anymore?”

Minny sighed. “Nope. Cardinal said she might be able to help me get something else, but I don’t know. It was kinda perfect, wasn’t it? And I was just starting to learn how to use it.”

“Yeah, that really sucks.” Sylvia sighed.

“Well, you live and learn.” Minny said, fumbling with one of her twin ponytails. A moment later, she looked back up at Sylvia and as if she had flipped a switch, she was her usual bouncy self. “But then we were stranded, right?”

“Yeah… So, how did you get down?” Sylvia asked, trying to match the tone.

The two girls talked for a long while after that. It was the first real conversation they had ever had. Minny didn’t leave until a nurse came in to tell her that visiting hours were over. Sylvia loved it.

Neither of them, however, were aware that someone was watching over them, a cat with midnight black fur.

___________

Woah... I can talk! Oh, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Rabat, the author of this book! This book is the culmination of about 2 years of my life. It's a trip to be done with it. (Well, not done. This is only the first draft... I don't know when the second draft will come out, why are you asking me that? Is this not enough.

Okay, I guess I'll go back and rewrite everything, but just for you. Don't share it with anyone else, you hear? Otherwise, I'll have to rip it out of your hands and eat it!

I don't wanna eat my book, so please don't do that.

Anyways, in all seriousness, I would like to thank a few people before I finish this up.

I'd like to thank my Mom and my entire family. I wouldn't be the person I am today without everything you've given me and all the encouragement I needed to do all this! Next, I'd like to thank my friends, every artist that I've ever loved the work of, and Honeyfeed. I definitely would not be here, writing this, if it weren't for those guys.

Oh, and Chaoplushie, who made the cover. It turned out excellent. Thank you.
