Chapter 13: Are We Ready?

The sun was down for good, only stars and the moon were present in the sky thus concluding our sparing session for the day, with this foundation we believed thar good and fast progress was being made with these lot and big changes will soon arise, speaking of big changes Hozumi was sitting in his office ready to call it a day until the phone goes off leaving Hozumi in a confident state as despite his mighty claims of finishing the deal with Kuragari and Gina, he was still worried over the possibilities of when it will happen, he picks up the phone and to no one’s surprise Kuragari’s bubbly attitude speaks over the line.

“HELLO Hozumi, how’s my favourite business partner doing? I hope you’ve had enough time to think over, I am dying for some good news right now” he says excited yet ready for the answer Hozumi is prepared to deliver. “I’ll get straight to the point” Hozumi says looking outside the front window of his office. “First of all I want to thank you for granting me the time, you should know this was not an easy decision to make by any means but it is with great sadness that I must cancel our deal to marry Sara and Junichiro, I just don’t feel this deal will benefit the way we wished it too all those years ago but I will accept your frustration, this means in no way that I wish to conclude any future deals with each other, I just cannot see this succeeding so as of today the deal is off” Hozumi states fully concluding the contract.

“Mhm I see, this change of heart is definitely saddening but alas I was the bigger person and gave you the option to think it over, just so you know you are making a terrible decision, your own words were that it would be grand to unite our families and expand our utopia together, it seems those British boys really did get to you huh?!” Kuragari says giving Hozumi the chance to ask an important question. “I must know, was it you or Gina who sent Navarro after the lads for answers?” Hozumi asks. “What blasphemy! Do you really think I’d be that upset! I must say I am disappointed!” Kuragari says knowing full well he sent Navarro to test the waters. “Back to the main topic, how will you be paying me? The amount of money I have spent promoting and planning this marriage is eyewatering and I am at a loss because of it” Kuragari says demanding. 

“That section is not my concern, I owe you nothing from this, what you paid for was from your own interest” Hozumi states. “You owe me more than you think, if that’s your attitude then so help me I will be in touch again!” Kuragari blowing some steam. “You knew exactly what you were getting into, there is no clause to backout now and not during the important stages, you own a copy of it yourself for crying out loud, you know what you’re worst trait is Hozumi? You’re too quick to trust and that’s how I had a feeling this would fall, I hope you are ready Hozumi, this will not be forgotten and forgiven lightly, good day!” He says slamming the phone down in a sulky state.

‘I had a good suspicion that was going to be his reaction and who can blame him? I can’t believe it has taken me this long to realise I was taking my daughter’s happiness away’. ‘In all my years, I have never seen her smiling as much as she has with Isaac, sure he is branded a commoner and scum to others but there are no bad traits within his group, friendly, open minded and always offering a helping hand, how could I turn that away?’. ‘This is all my fault, I feel the right thing has been done but I can’t change what was done way back, I wouldn’t forgive myself if they become critically targeted, it wouldn’t be fair, I am going to make sure as her father to put things straight and do it my way!’ Hozumi says in his thoughts as he sighs staring at the phone used to communicate with Kuragari and a copy of the contract as he makes his presence known to the training ground.

As Kuragari slams the phone, Junichiro and Gina comes storming in at full pace with major concern. “Is everything alright father?!” Junichiro says as Kuragari stands from the desk with darkness in his face is about to make a bold move as thunder can be heard in the distance. “Get yourself ready son, you’re going to show me just how much you’ve grown and that Hozumi’s foundation is nothing compared to us, I will have what it rightfully mine!” Kuragari yells so loud that even the conference room consisting of Dimitri, Veronica, Ruby, Navarro and many of their members could hear as they all are getting ready themselves.

“Sounds like his wish came true after all, good for him” Veronica says. “His inclusion better not slow us down” Dimitri follows with heading for the door. “Rally up the group, we depart in 10” Navarro says following. “ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! I KNOW YOU ARE ANGERED BUT YOU CAN’T THROW OUR OWN SON INTO THE MIX” Gina says grabbing her husband worrying for his son’s safety. “His drive and resolve will see him successful; his time will come you said to his face, well now is his time, I’ve asked Ruby for regular update’s to save you having any aneurisms”. “Now then, let the games begin!” Kuragari cunningly says locking his fingers on his desk.
