Chapter 25:

Chapter 25: A Plan

Howl

Leona, Belle, Ezekiel, and I headed up to the roof of the apartment building to form a plan on how we were going to win this giant fight thing in four months. “So, who wants to go first?” I asked. “I’ll go,” Leona said, “If he gave us four months to prepare, then let’s just work our asses off until the day comes. I mean, we’re clearly his main target.” “You want us to train for THAT LONG?” Belle responded, “Seems like a lot of work for something that might not even last very long.” “Belle’s right,” Ezekiel added, “For all, we know he could just be lying and trying to lure us in and then he’ll just capture us.” Leona sighed, “You two are stupid. Why would make an entire television broadcast just to lure US in?” The three began to argue, while I continued to think of an idea. Finally, I thought of something; I walked in between the three. “I’ve got a plan,” They stopped their argument and looked at me, “In Dragon Spheres, the heroes are given ten days to prepare for Beetle Man’s tournament. So Sun Wukong decided to rest for three days, train for three, and then rest again for the last three.” “What are you getting at, Ferral?” Leona asked. “My point is that what if we rest for two months and train for the last two? That way we won’t overwork ourselves but at the same time we’ll be prepared to face off against whoever shows.”

The twins shrugged, “Beats busting our asses off for four months.” Ezekial said. “Yeah! And we can do fun activities in the first two months.” Belle added. Leona sighed and rolled her eyes, “Do what you want. I’M going to take this time to keep getting stronger.” “That reminds me,” Ezekiel looked at me, “Ferral, what’s your fighting style?” “Huh?” I shrugged, “Well, I don’t really have one.” “You don’t?” Belle asked, “But every experiment was given one. Whether we wanted it or not.” “Guess they forgot to give me mine. I was always last for everything back at the Facility.” “And another thing,” Ezekiel said, “We’ve never seen you fight either. So what makes you so special that Dr. Atlas would want you?” “That’s true,” Belle continued, “We’ve spared with Leona, and she’s insanely strong. But she’s said you beat her…how?” I turned to Leona, “She is very strong. I don’t even really know how I won.” Leona scoffed, “Nothing but dumb luck.” “Well how about we test this.” Ezekiel said, “You two have a sparring match, untransformed, and Belle and I will see who's stronger.” I nodded, “I’m down for a rematch. What’d you say, Leona?” “Yeah, I’ll show you just how much stronger I’ve gotten.” We walked to opposite sides of the roof and into our fighting stances.

Belle and I moved back to give Ferral and Leona some space for their spar. The two lunged at each other and Leona immediately went for a right kick, which Ferral blocked with his wrist. Then the two went into a back and forth of attacks and blocks. “The two seem pretty even.” Belle said. “Hmm…no, Leona has a clear advantage. Her fighting style is based on ferocity and not give the opponent a chance to fight back. Ferral can only be on defense.” We continued to obverse them, Leona gaining the upper hand. She socked Ferral in the face, then grabbed his back and started kneeing his stomach multiple times. Ferral managed to break out and shove Leona away, but she was relentless. However, so was Ferral. He clearly had some great tenacity because he kept coming back no matter how many blows he took. Not only that, he was actually starting to gain some ground. Getting some hits on Leona “Hey sis, are you seeing what I’m seeing?” “That Ferral is starting to fight back? Yeah.” “Which is odd, because there was an obvious gap just a few seconds ago. It’s almost like…” “He’s learning as he fights,” Belle said, “He’s observing how Leona fights and his body is applying what he’s learned and formed its own style to combat his opponent’s.” “In short, his fighting style isn’t a single style at all...it’s whatever his body forms to win.” “There is a downside, if the opponent is far stronger Ferral then he wouldn’t be able to find a way to combat his opponent.” We refocused back on the fight and we were surprised to see Ferral had pinned down Leona. “Haha! I win again!” He declared as Leona struggled to get up. “Ngh! Get off me, idiot!” He let go of her and she got up, frustrated. We walked over to them, “Wow, didn’t think you’d actually win, Ferral.” I told him. He chuckled, “Me too. You sure have gotten stronger, Leona.” She grumbled, beginning to walk away. “Oh come on, Leona. No need to be such a sore loser.” Belle said. “YOU ALL CAN KISS MY ASS!!” Leona shouted as she transformed and hopped off the roof onto another and ran off.
