After a few moments, Lan Du came back up to the dorm with a towel in her hands as she dried the water.She had a light smile on her face as she walked in.

She looked around the room and noticed that mother Xie was giving her a strange look

"Mother Xie, what's wrong?Did something happen when I was gone?"Lan Du asked with a concerned expression

Mother Xie remained silent

"Lan Du, you were a bit rash, mother saw everything from the window"Xie Jing said

Lan Du scratched the back of her head in embarrassment

"Ah, you saw an embarrassing side of me, I apologise, next time I'll make sure to find a secluded place before breaking his limbs"Lan Du said gently and reached out her hand

"We can be considered family now, if there is anything you need, call me"Lan Du said gently and rubbed the twin's heads lightly.

"We haven't met in over two weeks, come, I'll take you two out for lunch"Lan Du said with a 

warm gaze

Mother Xie shook

"My dear daughters, it seems you two have achieved the saying, dancing with the devil"She sighed and said bitterly as she gazed at Lan Du.

Lan Du giggled

"Don't worry, I'm not that cruel, at most people fear me, I don't kill randomly"Lan Du said jokingly, she stretched her arms before walking out the room.

"I'll call you two later, for now, I have some more business to attend to"Lan Du smiled whilst closing the door behind her as she left.

After leaving, Lan Du headed for the mercenary guild, inside, she saw Ba Tan standing behind the counter, scolding a man.

"Mister Ba, was he the one?"Lan Du walked over and asked

Ba Tan glanced over, when he saw Lan Du, his face lit up as he smiled brightly.

"Yes, I was just giving him a warning, your mission reward will be sent to you soon, Yu Tian has told me already, you've used some of your personal expenses to save him, so the guild will pay you some extra cash to make up for it"He said and turned back to the man.

"There won't be a next time, understood?"He said coldly

The man shivered as he nodded his head vigorously, Lan Du frowned but didn't voice anything out.Only when the man left did she open her mouth.

"Mister Ba, you're quite soft, aren't you, if it was me, I'd have at least one of his limbs broken or maybe fired him on the spot"Lan Du rubbed her chin and said

Ba Tan shook his head

"I don't have the authority, the guild is deeper than you think, those above me are not easy to deal with either, but after I report it to them, firing that man shouldn't be a problem, for now, I must get the guild's approavalHe said casually as if Lan Du was an old buddy.

Lan DU nodded

"Though, I'm surprised there was someone above you, a dragonix class mercenary"Lan Du said in fascination

"Of course, dragonix aren't the strongest, we merely have this status for our contributions and physical body, when compared to those who have high spirit strength, we can't be compared"He laughed and said

Lan Du nodded

"By the way, lad, I heard you came back from your mission early and caused quite a ruckus at the city nearby, damn, raiding an entire company with such a big group, are you a gang leader?"Ba Tan lifted a brow and asked jokingly

Lan Du thought for some time before replying

"I'm no gang leader, those lads are too pathetic to even intimidate anyone, heh, until they can make people feel fear from the bottom of their hearts with a single glance can they be of some use"Lan Du giggled and replied with a casual smile.

Ba Tan laughed

"Not anyone can create fear with just a glance, if your whole squad can do that, then even some veterans won't be able to fight them"Ba Tan laughed and patted Lan Du's back.Lan Du smiled, though dissatisfied with him touching, she didn't voice it out.Lan Du then asked curiously.

"So, did you know that colonel Yuan had a son?"She asked

Ba Tan nodded

"Of course, he is quite talented, though he can't be compared to you, he is still much so better than your average talents"He said with a proud look.

Lan Du nodded

"I think I hear dit was love at first sight with him and his wife, hehehe, how I envy the young"Ba Tan added

Lan Du's hands were clenched tightly, but she didn't exude any negative aura.Her eyes were filled with hidden disgust and anger as she heard it.

"How nice, such a pity she died"Lan Du shook her head and said

'If she was still alive, I'd love to see that vixen, what a pity...I cannot kill her muself'Ba Tan nodded

"Indeed, it was a sad day for him as well, I heard he knelt in front of her grave for three days and three nights before he finally got back up"Ba Tan took a deep sigh as he shook his head.

Lan Du frowned beneath her mask

"How sad"She muttered

Ba Tan misunderstood her, thinking she took pity on Yuan Min, however, Lan Du's real meaning as:

'How sad, I'd love to see him kneeling'

Ba Tan shook his head before looking up at the ceiling

"Well, it's best that we don't speak of this, anyways, if you need any other help, come find me, your spirit dew should be rewarded to you the next time you come to the guild"Ba Tan waved and bid her farewell.

Lan Du walked out the guild with killing intent in her eyes, her hands clenched as a cold and cruel smile crept onto her face.

'Was mother's feelings a joke to him?That bastard...I will repay his favour, but after that...'Lan Du's eyes became sharp as she looked ahead.

No longer holding in her anger, she walked with a cold gaze.

"Hehehehe, I ill make him pay everything back tenfold"She muttered to herself and headed to the hospital.She entered the room her mother was in and sat down beside her.

She placed her hand onto her's, tears rolled down teh side of her face.

"Mother...please, wake up soon"She mumbled, no matter how cold hearted she seems, no matter how head strong she is, she is still just a twelve year old child.

She cried as she held her mother's hand.The warmth she felt, she would never forget it.She just sat there was tears rolled down.

"I will definitely find a way to wake you up, please...don't leave me behind"Lan Du teared up, after going through so much, she couldn't control her emotions any longer.

A doctor who was about to enter to check on her mother's condition paused outside, not opening the door when he heard Lan Du's sobbing.His body froze as he sighed deeply.

"Poor child, to have something like this happen to his family"He sighed bitterly as he waited outside.

A man then walked up to the doctor.

"May I enter?"He asked

The doctor gave him a suspicious look

"Who are you, the child is taking his time with his mother, you cannot enter"The doctor said coldly, to him, a patient was his top priority no matter what.

The man didn't get angry, instead he smiled.

"I'm the child's father"He said

Lan Du's sharp ears picked up the conversation, she gritted her teeth and locked the door.

"I don't haver a father!"She shouted

The doctor who was about to let Yuan Min in suddenly glared at him.

"Bastard, what were you about to do to the child?I heard about human trafficking around this region, you better leave before I call the cops on you"The doctor said coldly

Lan Du smacked herself to straighten her mind.To do so, she used the pain to stimulate her nerves, thus waking herself up from the emotional break down.

"I really am the father"Yuan Min tried to explain but Lan DU suddenly shouted

"Then say my name!"She roared angrily

The doctor stared at Yuan Min,w aiting for a reply.

Speechless, Yuan Min took a step back.Not being able to find any information on Lan Du, Yuan Min wasn't able to find her name iether.So he was completely suped by this question.

"You don't even know my name yet you claim to be my father!Do you know how much I've suffered already!My father is dead!"Lan Du cried out, her boice was horsy and seemingly to have tears run down as well.

However, behind the door, Lan Du had eyedrops in her hand while a cold smile stretched across her face.

Yuan Min was stumped

'dead?She already knows of me yet she says I'm dead?Sly girl, her acting is improving'

The doctor finally snapped as he gave a vicious slap across Yuan Min's face.

"I'm calling the cops!"He shouted as he picked up his phone, the deceased were something the doctor would not allow to be desecrated, yet this man in front of him is claiming to be a dead person in front of the child!He could not tolerate such disrespect!

Lan Du smiled as she opened teh window.

"How many times is it this time I wonder?Six?Maybe seven?heh, I'll do it as many times as I need to get away from him"She jumped down and without any tools this time, she landed perfectly without any injuries.

She clenched her fists and smiled

"hehe, the karmic dew does wonders, my body strength is much stronger than before and along with y spiritual strength, the fall was greatly reduced"Lan Du then frowned lightly

"Why must he do this every time?All I want...is to be with mother for some time, yet he would always do this"Lan Du gritted her teeth and slammed her hand onto the ground, a slight crack appeared but her fist dripped with frsh blood.

"I'm pathetic, running every time, I can't do anything"Lan Du stood up and left the area immediately after.

Her heart boiled with fury and resentment, Yuan Min had either sent someone to observe the hospital or he would come himself.She had grown tired of escaping, all she wished for was to stay with her mother, yet every time was disrupted by his constant digging.

By the time Yuan Min persuaded the doctor, he entered the room to see only a beautiful woman, laying on the bed silently.Lan Du was not in sight and all traces were gone.

"Why must you constantly avoid me..."He mumbled

Lan Du's mind was in disarray, she walked to a small alley and removed her mask.She put on a short black wig and wore a pair of blue contact lenses.

She then walked out, her previous heavy aura was gone, rather, it was replaced with a gentle and weak sheep like aura.As if even a slight gust of wind could blow her over, she smiled lightly as she walked.

Everywhere she walked, she would catch a lot of attention to herself, from her eye colour to her appearance.Lan Du would give the girls she pass by a wink, leaving them breathless.However the man beside them would yank their arm violently, waking them up from their dream like daze.

Their hearts would then be filled with fear, looking downwards and no longer taking a peak around.

Lan Du's heart burned with anger at that scene but didn't voice it out, she continued to walk and headed to teh gym.

She clenched her hand and signed in, men would be everywhere inside, her appearance in the gym caught a lot of attention.

"Hahaha, a little white face like you should stay out of places like this, kid, this ain't where you should be"A well built man spoke out as he laughed at Lan Du's body size.

Lan Du gave him a glance before walking to the benchpress.

"Kid, if you can lift even 20 kilos, I'll call you father"The man laughed

Lan Du smirked

"I'd rather not, with a son like you, I'd shame myself to death"Lan Du grinned as she took off the bracelets on her arm.

She placed them aside and added some weights onto the benchpress.In total including the steel rod in teh centre, the weight added up to 100 kilos.

Lan Du then laid down on the bench and grabbed the barbell and took in a deep breath.

"Kid, don't kill yourself for a bet, it ain't worth it"The man didn't get angry at Lan Du's remark, rather, he would feel guilty if Lan Du got injured because of her.

Lan Du didn't reply, she lifted the barbell off the hook and pushed up."up"She mumbled and lifted the barbel with ease, she then continued without any delay in her movements.The process was smooth and not even a drop of sweat rolled down her face.

"This-"The man was left speechless, even he couldn't lift 100 kilos so he was shocked stupid.

'D-don't tell me...do I really have to call him father?!'

Lan Du then placed the barbell back on the hook, she stood up and walked to the side.Just when the man thought she was at her limit, she grabbed another 20 kilos worth of weight and placed them onto the barbell.

The other men around the gym laughed

"Old Qi, you really kicked a steel plate this time, hahaha, I didn't think I'd see the day where you call a kid father!"A man beside him laughed.

"Cheh, how would I know he would be such a monster, lifting 120 kilos like it's nothing"Old Qi scoffed back angrily as he glared at the people around him.Lan Du lifted for a few more minutes before she stood up and reached for her bracelets, preparing to leave.However, when she reached out her hand, she realised that they were missing.

She looked around

"Who took my bracelets"Lan Du said coldly

She din't feel any presence when she was lifting so it must have been when she went to get more weights for the barbell.

"I will give you three seconds, if no one owns up, your punishment will be worse than just a light punch"Lan Du looked around and still no one owned up.

After three seconds, she took out a small remote.She clicked the blue button on it and a scream was heard.

"Ah!"

A young man dropped to the ground, his posture was strange as his waist was stuck on the ground and he pushed down his arm, trying to get up.

Lan Du walked over under the gaze of the other men in the gym.

"Lad, you're very daring for stealing from me, let me tell you, you stole my bracelets when I turned them off so they would only weight 1 kilo at most together, I usually have them at 20 kilos each, with 40 kilos in your pocket, how does it feel?"Lan Du grabbed his collar and lifted him up off the ground.

"L-let go of me!"He shouted

Lan Du smirked

"Let's see if your pants are of high enough quality to hold 40 kilos, will they fall off or will they rip?Either way, I'll throw you out onto the streets when it happen"Lan Du grinned coldly as she watched his struggling expression.

The men in the gym shivered

"Cruel"

"He is a demon"

"To throw a kid out when his pants either rips or falls off, damn, how vicious"

The young man struggled, he could feel his pants sliding off as he flailed around.

He grabbed his pants with his hands, hoping to keep them up, only to realise that the weights got heavier and he couldn't hold on to them any longer.

"S-stop, please, I'm sorry, I'll never steal again"He cried

Lan Du chuckled

"I don't care if you steal, even if you rob a bank empty I wouldn't care, but stealing from me is a different matter, even if you hide in another country with my belongings, I'll find you and I'll show you what it means to experience death while being alive"Lan Du's smile widened as she enjoyed the young man's struggling expression.

A man walked up

"Young man, don't take things too far, this child just stole some useless bracelets, it can't be worth that much, how can you shame him like this"The man said

Lan Du glanced at him

"Honestly, I gave him a chance, I'm a very honest person, I do what I say, if he owned up earlier, I would have just given him a tight slap or two, but now that he tested my patience, he deserves some punishment for wasting my time"Lan Du said it in a righteous manner but her smile said a different story.

The young man struggling glared at her

"Y-you sadistic bastard!"He shouted

Lan Du laughed lightly

"You're right, I'm a sadist, honestly, your struggling expression just makes me happier, but I prefer despair over this"Lan Du smiled and tossed him to the ground.

She reached into his pockets and took out her bracelets from them.

"Take this as a warning, touch my things again and I'll have you wear my bracelets for an hour at double my usual weight"Lan Du said and wore the bracelets.
