Chapter 8:

A maid vs the storm 3

I was reborn as a maid to the cruel tyrant prince (vol 1)

****

Sana stood rather timidly in the hallway, Dante remaining in his doorway with his arm placed before him, the two had acquired quite a crowd around them.

"I thought I told you to stop trying to enter here, once more and I will call the guards on you!" Dante told the girl firmly as Sana stood her ground.

"I-I won't stop until you stop to consider what I said!"

"I considered it just now and it's still no..." Dante responded as one of the maids called over to Sana.

"Sana, please stop, Lady Irian is already on her way, if you continue you will also be thrown in jail!" The maid told her as Sana shook her head fiercely.

"He can do that but keeping Annie in there is too cruel now!" Sana argued as Dante simply plugged his ears to the matter.

"Too loud..." he muttered...

It was at this point that I had started to approach the scene. I could see Sana and Dante in the distance but what stood out more than them was the tension in the room. Sana, as sweet as you are, and as oblivious as you can sometimes be, please don't put yourself in situations like this, it's no good for my heart!! I stopped as I tried to figure out what to do. Should I just walk right up to them an announce that I am free... maybe that would be too nonchalant, if he wasn't distracted enough, we'd both be punished... maybe I should run in there wildly and declare a battle on the prince? That might shift his anger enough... It was as I was trying my best to work out what to do that I heard Sana continue talking.

"Look, Annie can be quite outspoken and clumsy at times... and sometimes she says things that makes no sense sometimes..." she began as I got stabbed a little by those words. I mean it wasn't a lie but still... Sana however continued which I didn't know whether I wanted her to do so or not after her opener. "But, Annie is also a honest hardworker like the rest of us... and she is also my dear friend... I know she wouldn't do what she did without good reason so..." Sana mentioned seriously as it seemed the wounds from her previous statement had begun to vanish. I really didn't give the people I gad befriended here enough credit... maybe it was time that I started to take this new life and the new friends I made here a bit more seriously... Sana then bowed her head to the prince. "Please, I was the one in charge of looking after her this month, allow me take responsibility and take place at least!!" She then begged the prince much to my surprise... Sana...

"Miss Silverston, you are there!" I heard from behind me as I turned to see Hugo catching up to me from down the hallway.

"Sir Hugo, you made it thank goodness..." I began when in my distraction I heard the group that had gathered to watch begin to mutter. I turned back to the scene to see Dante holding a metal pole before him to a rather confused Sana.

"Hmm, you want to take her place huh?" He questioned, a very familiar flicker showing in his eye. One that instinctively put me on guard and somewhat annoyed me. Dante then gave a smile to Sana, tilting his head. "Okay then, if you are so determined, take this pole, climb above the roof of the manner and hold it up in the highest place!" Dante demanded her, much to the shock of everyone in the room. Even the boy who usually smile through things like this Hugo seemed a little take back by the request. The young knight covered his mouth and glanced to his side muttering in a quiet and concerned tone.

"That's a bit..."

It was almost the same as what he had started to make me do and though I found the situation awful for myself- for some reason, I was alot more angry about someone else having to do it in my stead than I was myself. Sana seemed very hesitant to his request which I really did not blame her for, the room muttering more as Dante scoffed. This brat...

"What?" He asked in a demeaning way as I clenched my fist. "I thought you were willing to take responsibility?" He went on as Sana winced to this, taking a deep breath and going to speak... however in the few seconds she had wince it had seemed that when she looked back properly he had vanished... instead he was replaced by me.

THUD

CLATTER

I had quite literally torpedo'ed into the royal ass before Sana could come up with a retort, my actions leaving the room dumbfounded, the only noise in the room aside from the prince's stumbled thudsteps being the clatter of a fallen metal pole.

Dante sort of staggered to regain balance... before he looked behind himself with an enraged expression-

"Who would dare..." he gave a fierce growl as he turned around to see me picking up the pole he had dropped.

"A-Annie?!" Sana gave a surprised gasp as I glared at the prince. Oh boy was he angry, absolutely furious in fact. But right now, that didn't matter. Because I was most definitely ten times angrier than him.

"Y-You..." Dante began but he was quickly interrupted, I held the pole before him.

"I accept your challenge you royal twerp!" I announced, much to Dante's utter bafflement.

'Ah she said that name again...' Hugo thought in a cold sweat, not really sure on whether he should stop the situation now or let it go further.

I remained my ground defiantly as the prince could only stare at me in confusion... for once he genuinely sounded more dumbstruck than angry.

"What?" He asked as I set forth my announcement once again.

"You heard me, I'll be taking on your challenge!" I repeated myself, the prince blinking twice as the maids muttering got worse.

"Annie, wait-" Sana began as I blocked her and everyone else's comments out. I looked down to prince Dante.

"If I do this and succeed, then you have to apologise to every maid and butler you have mistreated in this manor and let Sana off!" I told the ever more confused Dante, who couldn't seem to come up with a reply to my own challenge back to him. Nonetheless it came with the knit if his eyebrows that he attempted.

"Are you-"

"Listen, you can do what you want to me! I'm a person who is used to facing misfortune pretty much every where she goes" I stopped the prince mid chat again before I then scowled at him. "But you never treat my friends the same way you got that?!" I hissed at him sternly. It seemed I had finally gotten the prince in a state to listen as he finally stopped trying to cut in. "You may be feeling trapped. You may be frightened of the weather. You may feel like you can't trust people around you or the world is your enemy. But that is never a reason to mistreat others, no matter what!"

It was with this shout that I gripped onto the pole and decided I was going to head to the roof, running off away from the crowd.

"You stupid prince, I'll show you!" I cried running off as I felt quite aware of Sana now chasing me.

"Annie, please wait, you can't do this!" Sana yelled, trying to catch up with me.

It was upon seeing me become a dot that she looked back to Dante.

"Hey, she's really going to do it you know!" Sana shouted as Hugo winced a little this.

"Your highness this really was taking it too far even for an attempt of deterrence..." he told Dante who still seemed rather spaced out with everything that happened before Hugo gave a pale expression. "I'm going to go chase after her, this isn't like the time in the garden..."

Hugo ran off, leaving a worried Sana and maids and a still rather dumbstruck Dante. Not only had I pushed him twice but I had lectured him twice too. The prince was in quite the understatement of shock at the event- nonetheless there was an even bigger growing concern cross his mind. He knew what it was but it was taking his mind some time to process everything. Lady Irian had finally seemed to catch up on the chaos in a blind frantic, trying to cat h her breath.

"What on earth's going on here?!" She cried in a hurry as Sana turned to Lady Irian palely.

"Annie accepted the prince's challenge to put a metal pole on the roof!" Sana panicked as Lady Irian seemed to become quite baffled at the situation handed to her.

"Miss Silverston...? Wasn't she in the underground cells??" Lady Irian questioned quietly before it finally seemed that the reality if the situation clicked on her. "Above the manor is above the lightning barrier- is she trying to get herself killed?!" Lady Irian them shrieked, also starting to panic herself as the young prince beside her scowled. Without a comment, he turned away in the opposite direction down the hall.

"W-Wait- your highness?!" Lady Irian's head span rapidly as Sana went to charge after him.

"Hey, you have to fix this, Annie is going to be badly hurt!!" She yelled, running past the bewildered head maid.

"You two- hold it right there- I- What to do-" The head maid instinctively ran after the prince seemingly torn between the two situations she was now faced with.

Meanwhile I was very much regretting my choices as I found myself crouched down on the now very slippy roof amongst heavy winds. I had managed to get on the roof through on of the roof windows on the upper floor, but now I was confronted with the reality of my situation- that I was a complete and utter idiot. Why had I made a habit of antagonising the one person I wanted to run away from more when things got heated. I had set out to live and ordinary and long life in this world so why was I consistently putting my life in danger... If I had any sensibilities left I would be heading back off this roof right now and going back to apologise to that fiendish prince...

However...

'She is my dear friend!'

I clenched the pole in my hands tighter... It had been my first time in three years... since somebody had truly considered me a friend... and I was going to stick it to that dumb prince! I allowed this determination to help me get to my feet atop the rain soaked roof, heading towards the chimney. There was nothing to worry about anyway so long as I kept my balance!

Is what I thought until I heard the sound of one of the many roof windows opening behind me.

"Miss Silverston!!" Came a rather panicked shout as I looked towards the window to see Hugo was leaning out of it. He surprisingly seemed quite relieved to see me safe as he gave a sigh before he gave me his usual smile.

"I have to say when I said keep things entertaining, I didn't quite mean to this extent..." Hugo then mentioned.

"I'm sorry if this wasn't entertaining enough for you!" I snapped back as Hugo gave a stiff laugh.

"I didn't mean it like that..." he mentioned before he held his hand out. "This may be going a little too far don't you think Miss Silverston..." he then told me as for once he did seem to be speaking some common sense. "So why not come back down calmly and we can all sort this out-"

"I can't though!" I interjected much to Hugo's surprise. The young knight quite honestly gave me a look as though I was crazy.

"Ehhh..." he replied flatly as I reaffirmed my stance.

"If I don't then he'll punish Sana too!" I told him as Hugo shook his head with a stiff smile.

"No I think he may understand that this was probably punishment enough-"

"Besides I need to stick it to that prince and call him on his bluff's. He needs to realise his words and actions can have some consequences!" I went on as Hugo fell quiet for a moment. I'd prove it that I could push through anything! That no matter how much of a brat he acted I would be one step ahead! I decided to turn back around whilst my resolve was high, heading to the roof as Hugo decided to speak back up.

"Though I agree with you mostly, Miss Silverston, there is something that you should know!" Hugo yelled as the thunderous sky above gave another crackle of lightning that hit off in the distance. "The barrier for lightning doesn't protect the above the top of the building!" He announced as there came a following ear splitting boom of thunder.

Ah... it had seemed that horrifyingly loud bang had made my resolve fizzle out as fast as the lightning that struck the ground. Hey... I could do this right... even if this was clearly life or death, I still had the ability to do this right...? Or was it just sensible of me to get off the roof now Sana.

I was left now stuck on the root quite literally contemplating my own life as I really pondered if this was worth it... Hugo seemed to be quite ready t help me down... until I decides to swallow down my fears and turn back to the roof much to his shock.

"L-like I care, I did this before not knowing that the barrier existed so-" I snapped, pushing forwards as Hugo called after me.

"Miss Silverston, please wait!!" He cried going to jump onto the roof himself before he then botoced something flash past him.

I was heading to the chimney alot faster than I anticipated, very aware that the lightning could hit at any point... at this point, there was definitely one word you could use to describe me... an-

"ID- I- OT!"

"Well I was gonna say reckless but- "

?!!!!!

I looked to my side to see a small orb swaying from beside me. Huh...? What on earth was this, was the fear getting to my head, I could have sworn I heard that bratty prince's voice from this thing.

"Hey I know you can hear my voice from this so respond!!" Came the sharp voice of prince Dante from the orb once more as I found myself stumbling back upon hearing him.

"What on earth is this, did that brat get eaten by an orb?!" I exclaimed in a panic as the orb snapped back at me.

"Call me a brat once more and I will burn you alive from the roof you dumb pig!" The orb growled- huh it really is the prince... but-

"How?!"

Before I could continue to have my mind blown by how weird this situation was the orb spoke again.

"Seriously?! How dumb can you get, right now I'm using a form of communication magic, I'm currently in the entrance way down below..." the prince went on as his explanation only did little to subvert my amazement. So stuff like this could exist in this world huh? - what was I even trying to question anymore, they had explosive bracelets and magic lightning repelling barriers in this world, this was probably far from the most crazy thing here. "Listen, all the maids below of freaking out right now dragging the mattresses from the rooms and tossing them to the ground below and that annoying friend of yours won't stop crying and yelling at me!" Dante explained to me as I found myself peeking over the roof to see many mattresses being sprawled out below. I could also here Sana yelling distinctly in the background of the audio. No way, they were worried?? The orb spoke onwards. "Why don't you just give this up here? Face your punishment below and at least you won't be fried!!" Dante went on as I found my moment of being touched by the efforts of the maids being ruined by this unbelievable prince's words.

"That's exactly what you want- no way, I'm gonna finish my end of the deal, just you watch!" I declared stubbornly, stomping forwards as the voice on the end of the orb seemed rather speechless for a moment... when there came a 'tch from the orb.

"Are you kidding me right now?! You can't just say no, you have to come down, you here that pig girl, that is an order!!" Dante announced, snapped at me as at once the bell on my bracelet started to ring loudly. You had to be joking?! Now I had to worry about exploding too?! Why was there always something against me when I was dead set on something.

"You hear that, now you have to come down!" Dante snapped as I gritted my teeth.

"No!" I retorted.

"Huuuuh?! Do you really want to explode?! Should I let you blow up here and now?!"

"Go ahead and do it then you dumb prince, I'll still reach the chimney before then!!" I cut in Dante's threats angrily. "And then, when I do, you are going to have to forgive Sana no matter what! Maybe if I do blow up then you'll think twice before saying cruel things to people!" I declared to the prince before I then decided to just go for it to the roof. I had to pay back Sana for trying to save me... and I was going to make that prince reflect on what he had said-

"Fine!! You don't have to be punished anymore, I apologise!!" Came the annoyed shout from the orb as I found myself stopping to look back at it... what was that...? An apology...? There was no way... that Prince Dante of all people just apologised...

******

"Ahhhh, this is all the mattresses Lady Irian!" A maid yelled.

"Is this really all we have?!" Lady Irian cried as Sana looked at the top of the manor warily. She saw Felicia stepping out from the manor with some pillows.

"Ah Felicia, any look finding more stuff?!" Sana cried as Felicia shook her head.

"I found these two pillows and that's it, I think we've dragged out everything..." she replied before tutting to herself. "All our sleeping supplies are now drenched, good grief..." she muttered as Sana nodded her head. "I understand how you feel but thank you, you are worried about Annie too right?!" She double checked as Felicia gave a deadpan look.

"I really would have rather not gotten involved however I don't wish her to be dead, no..." Felicia mentioned before looking back to the manors entrance. "Nonetheless on my way down here I heard and saw something a bit interesting that may have made this worth my while..." she muttered....

From within the entrance Dante stood with an orb before him, a rather frustrated expression on his face. That stupid maid, how long was she going to take to reply... admittedly it had only been a few moments, but in this situation with a storm raging outside in his view it... There came a reply...

"You really mean it...?" Came the reply as Dante frowned a little to this.

"Don't take my words lightly dumb pig, I mean everything I say!" He replied. As there came more hesitation from the other end of the orb...

"I thought you said you wanted me to go away..." came the quiet response as the prince took a moment to process what was said... he gave a slightly irritated sigh, scratching his head.

"For the record, I wasn't kidding about that either, I really really don't like you! It would be great for you to disappear..."

*******

From the roof I glared at the orb suspiciously... he wasn't making many attempts to make me tryst all things considered...

"But..." the orb went on... "I never said I wanted you to he hurt..." it stated as I found my animosity behind what he was saying disappear... say... was this it... the side of Dante you see in the good end of his game... the Dante that didn't need to be a tyrant...? Maybe he wasn't already completely on the path to a bad end afterall...? I gulped a little, looking back to the chimney... honestly if Sana wasn't going to be punished now, there really wasn't any reason for me to be pushing this further than I had been... I gave a sigh and finally agreed, turning around...

"Okay, I'll stop..." I replied, giving in... this was all a little silly really... though, at least now I could maybe go back to a quiet life again-

KRACKA BOOM BOOM!!

Though it wasn't on the roof, there came a terrifyingly loud explosion of lightning from atop the barrier on the roof, the lightning making the house shake as I finally lost my footing on the roof and fell... ah...

Dearest mother and father in another world, it had seemed that my new life was already going to come to a close...

*****

"Ahhhh lightning just hit the roof! She's falling!!" Came a cry from outside the manor house as Dante looked at the flickering orb from before him in a daze...

"I don't think we have enough mattresses!!"

Dante tch'ed as he got up and went outside.

*******

You know what I did just there was probably just as that prince said, profoundly stupid... and I probably got what I deserved now for getting too involved... maybe dying again wouldn't be such a bad thing.. afterall I had only spent most my time here being tormented and abused... maybe I might get a chance to be reborn in my old world, like I was thinking earlier...

Ah but...

"She's my dear friend...'

But still...

"I'm glad you have friends now Miss Silverston..."

But still I-

'Say ————— one day I know you'll be able to move again... and when you do you will meet friends who care for you just as I do...'

"I don't want you to get hurt..."

"I don't want to die!!" I yelled as I fell, crying out my honest feelings as suddenly there was a wave of warm air and a loud boom.

Loud cries filled the air and I swore I felt something just before I hit the ground...

"Annie...? Annie!!"

I surprisingly found myself being woken up by a familiar voice as I looked up in a daze, seeing the vary concerned face of the blonde haired Sana leaning over me tearfully...

"Huh... Sana...?" I questioned as Sana quite suddenly grabbed hold of me hugging me.

"Thank goodness you are alive! You big dummy, you scared everyone so much!!!" Sana yelled, shaking me about as she hugged me.

"Woah, woah Sana, yes, I'm alive okay I-" I began feeling rather disoriented before then I became rather confused looking around myself. There were many thin mattresses chucked amongst the floor to soften my blow upon impact as I fell... but even then, it was quite easy to see that falling upon these from the height I fell would injure me.

"Uhm... how am I still alive...?" I questioned as Sana sniffled as she held me.

"It was sort of amazing, the prince used his fire magic to explode off the floor and project himself up to catch you!! The explosion was huge!" Sana announced as I gave a rather dumbfounded expression to this sudden announcement... Wait Dante did...? I had a hard time imagining just how that would work until I looked to my right to see a large searing crater beside me looking wide eyes... Hey did that prince make a crater so terrifyingly big...?

"I was worried he was going to burn you in all honesty!!" Sana exclaimed whilst still cryinh as I jumped at this.

"Please don't say something as scary as that..." I pleaded, as Sana then jumped at me

"That isn't the issue here, listen you must never do something like that again Annie!! For me pr anyone else! It was seriously stupid, I thought you'd die!!" Sana lectured me, much to my surprise... hey didn't you bring up Dante almost burning me first... nonetheless- I looked at her cry before I felt myself getting emotional too.

"Yeah... I'm sorry, I won't do something like that again... Thank you for caring about me so much Sana... I truly am grateful" I told her, the both of us starting her to cry as I heard someone call me from the side.

"Ah Miss Silverston, thank goodness, I thought you was a goner for sure after you fell..." Hugo gave a loud sigh of relief as he saw me and Sana. He looked at the crater beside me before looking at me and smiling his usual smile. "Well you certainly do live up to your promises, that was quite entertaining..." he mentioned as I gave a shallow laugh.

"Yeah, I'm sorry, I really should have gotten down when you told me to..." I apologised as Hugo then shook his head with a faint smile

"No, I should apologise, truthfully I could have easily managed to get you down on my own before you fell but..." he seemed to be reflecting on something as he spoke... "actually I saw and heard something rather amazing before I could do so... and before I knew it, you was falling..." he told me in a manner that was more serious than I thought it would be... but as always this seriousness was short lived with this knight.

"To think that you'd panic his highness to the point where he'd break his arm for you, as always you never fail to amaze me!" Hugo laughed as I found myself awkwardly laughing in response to this.

"Haha... is that so..." I replied stiffly, not wanting to mention that he really shouldn't be amazed by my recklessness... before I then stopped...

"Huh...? What did you say the prince did...?" I asked as Hugo pointed at his arm casually.

"Oh he broke his arm!" He replied.

"Ehhh..." I replied quietly, not quite believing it.

"It's true, in order to break the magic suppressors on him to cause an explosion that big, he had to use more power than his arm could take, it'd pretty shocking actually!" Hugo explained as it seemed the reality of what happened had finally caught up with me as I got up, going to look for the prince.

*****

Hugo watched me run off as Sana wiped her eyes.

"Hmm, didn't his highness say not to mention that to her?" She asked as Hugo tilted his head.

"Eh, well she was going to find out eventually..." Hugo stated, looking back to me. "Besides, this is alot more entertaining don't you agree... Miss Silverston is truly amazing..."

******

I caught up with Dante, I had managed to find him given the large crowd that was now panicking and doting around him... and as Hugo had mentioned, he had now quite suddenly acquired a bandage on his arm- What the hell, I had really broken his arm hadn't I?! I stared at him, a bit loss for words... I didn't really get it... didn't he say he wanted nothing to do with me... that he hated my guts... so then why break an arm for me...? It had seemed he had noticed me as I gave a troubled expression. Ah... he really just a child... one who could say bad things... one who could take things way too far... but also regret what he said and try to fix his mistakes... Dante hadn't yet hit his bad end yet, he wasn't the bad guy his game had made destined for him yet... and it was easy to forget that there was still a good end for him... the future I had thought was already painted out and bad, was still subject to change... and for a brief moment, I thought that maybe it was better for me to try a keep this kid on the path to a good end... maybe...

The moment his eyes met with mine had me greeted with a glare.

"What?! You dumb pig girl I told that annoying maid to distract you, go off somewhere else!!" He snapped at me. But... he still was pretty ireprehensible though... I took a deep breath before I then walked over to him, bowing my head.

"I'm sorry that you broke you arm... and thank you.. for saving my life!" I gave my most sincere apology as the prince stared at me bowing... before his eyes's narrowed even more.

"Who ever said I did it for you dumb pig- actually this was a great chance for me to finally break those seals on me, who'd want to save a idiot like you..." he tutted as I grimaced slightly at this.

"Is that so..." I muttered as Dante then started to rage at me.

"Just what do you think you are doing pushing and challenging me anyway?! Did you think I was actually serious with that request, the reason you were up there is because you just blindly went up there without question- if you have enough balls to completely go against me, you have it to just make your friend go against my punishment don't you- moron, idiot, stupid pig tail hag!! I hate you, you know!!"

"You're right, I am a moron, an idiot and a stupid pig tail hag!!" A shouted back, biting back my pride tearfully. "And- And for the record, I don't like you either!! However..." I looked down, bowing my head. "I didn't want you to get hurt either... so sincerely thank you and sorry!!" I yelled at him once more as Dante remained quiet to this... however I wasn't finished. "Also you came outside in the middle of thunder and lightning, which you are scared of so-"

"ARGGHH!!" Dante cut in angrily whilst covering my mouth. "Seriously I understand you are sorry, you don't have to repeat it you dumb pig girl, seriously don't you know when to be quiey?!" He yelled at me as I stated at him surprised.

"But I was being thankful from the bottom of my heart!" I exclaimed as Dante death glared me.

"Is that so?! If you are that grateful then, then do me the favour of getting out my-"

"Ahem"

From next to us was an rather handsome looking middle aged man, with short blonde hair that was slicked back and deep grassy green eyes who was quickly approaching us, followed by both Lady Irian and Hugo.

"Oh good heavens, Miss Silverston is finally awake- why you silly little girl, do you realise what you did to his highness?!" Lady Irian beseeched at me in a complete meltdown as the man that had walked beside her.

"Hmm, well for someone who had broke their arm, his highness seems to be quite energetic today..." the man snorted as Dante glared at the man.

"Old man..." he muttered, letting me go as I stared between them all rather bewildered. I was expecting Lady Irian and Hugo to quickly join the prince's side... however... I looked up to the old man, not recognising him... who was this fellow...

"Excuse me Miss Silverston, I believe we have yet to meet.. I am Lord Eldesfair, the kings royal advisor and the one who usually oversee's this manor house... I was the one who hired you to be a maid here..." the man explained as I stared at the handsome man rather lost for a moment... before then my jaw dropped. Eh?! So this was the real head of the manor house, not Dante?! Dante seemed to not be happy with the lords appearance as he looked away tutting. The lord then bowed at me. "I am sorry I was not able to greet you sooner, I had been away doing work for the royal family- whilst I was gone it seems his highness was able to cause some chaos for you and everyone else..." he apologised to me, much to my shocked flusterment- What was this, I had never met anyone this courteous before, he sort if reminded me of what a prince was meant to be like.

"N-N-No- this all here was my fault, there is no need to apologise, much rather, it should be me!! Thank you for your concern though!!" I stammered shyly-what a charming fellow. The lord laughed a little before he then smiled at me.

"Is that so?" He questioned before he then thought to himself. "Well, his highness did revoke his punishment, but if you are so adamant on apologising..." he began as I snapped out my joy to his chivalry... ehhh? I was going to be punished anyway??! The lord then pointed to Dante.

"Miss Silverston, his highness has a few royal duties to do, but with a broken arm he won't be able to do them... if you are willing to take some responsibility, then please be his highnesses arm until it heals!" He brought up to me brightly, much to every bodys shock.

"What?!" Came the perfectly timed and matched cry from me, Dante and even Lady Irian. Meanwhile it seemed that the whole situation had quite suddenly made Hugo start laughing uncontrollably.

"L-Lord Eldesfair, you can't be serious, she was the reason he broke his arm!!" Lady Irian proclaimed as Lord Eldesfair tilted his head.

"Yes, well... it was a mix of both their actions really..." he mentioned as Dante flared up at the lord.

"Hey Old man, why are you punishing me too?!" He snapped as the lord simply ignored the prince, turning to face me. "Old man?!" Dante began as Lord Eldesfair looked at me.

"He's a handful... but from what I hear from you Miss Silverston, I think you'll be able to handle it!" He mentioned whilst patting my head and winking at me much to my surprise.

"Old man, are you listening?!"

"Yes Lord Eldesfair please listen to reason!!"

As Dante and Lady Irian bickered with the lord, I touched my head and looked over go Dante... Well this was certainly far from the position that I wanted... as every fibre of my being was telling me to find a place to run away as far as I can before a bad end could catch up with me however... I stared at Dante who looked back at me with a glare.

"Hey you, ignore him, I want nothing to do with you, got that!!" He snapped in angry flusterment as I found myself sighing. Yes he said the most hateful things... and maybe his broken arm and this situation was karma for what we both did. However I did at least see some good in this kids heart and a glimmer of a chance of him being saved... my life till now didn't seem to want to be the peaceful one avoiding this bratty prince like I wanted to. But, he had saved my life and now it seemed, at least until he got into high school, that I was indebted to save his. Maybe it was even ridiculously fated to be like this...

In any case, dearest mother and father in another world, I have decided I am going to confront this fate head on... So just you wait Dante, I'll make sure we all reach a good end!!
