Second book: Proloque

My name is Leonard Hirano Dragonrose and although I’m just a twelve year old, I’m a head of a noble family. Many things happened and I alongside my friends defeated a Forest dragon.

Today is sixth day of the new year and I recieved a letter with key and map with location of my new mansion I recieved for defeating said dragon.

„We should check it out as soon as we can, after all it will be our sweet spot from today,“ said Kiira a High elf with crimson red hairs and eyes. Both of us are reincarnated from earth and over there we were a couple.

„Our sweet spot… nicely said Kiira,“ Taru, a Dragonman with cyan hairs and golden eyes nodded sagely. Although she is a Dragonman, she looks completly human except for a pair of a thumb sized horns on her head. Currently she’s wearing her hair in two side buns which hide these horns completly. She is just like me and Kiira a reincarnator and a friend from our previous lives.

"I'm also lookig forward to see our love nest," Alette, my adopted sister, said while playing with her hairs, looking dreamy.

„We will be going to same school soon so we will be seeing each other every day again. Maybe we will be in same class,“ I gave her a warm smile.

„Yeah, you’re right brother… but where is Ruzu and Goli?“

„They returned back to Roseburg to collect people who wish to join us. Namely the Sea dragonfolks, Tina and some people father leant me to run things before I get my own people.“

Goli and Ruzu are last members of our group. Aparently they took down hordes of Bronze rank or higher monsters while defending the Roseburg city, which I call my home.

As most powerful warriors of the battle, they recieved a hononary chevalier titles at a later date from us without nobles of our kingdom present so not many people knew about them.

„Setto, could I ask you to prepare a carriage for all of us?“

„Of course, Count-sama,“ Setto bowed and left the room, smiling broadly.

„He’s still doing that~“ I sighed defeatedly.

„Well, you did promise him the position of Head butler in your house, so of course he’s acting like that. His master got a noble title before even entering the school, if that isn’t a reason to be happy, then nothing is,“ Taru smiled.

We finished our tea and moved before the mansion. Setto just arrived so we boarded the carriage and left for the mansion.

„So where exactly is it located?“ Taru asked.

„The mansion is in same quarters as other high class nobles, but it's on borders with middle ranked noble quarters. You must be causious there. While not so many nobles opposed my title, there was quite a lot who opposed giving title to you two.“

„I heard it from Dearest mother, we are the first demihumans who recieved noble title in Ostilian kingdom since it’s third king Garnet the Second.“

How did you just call my mother so casually Kiira??

„The Hero of Shining sword, Yuusha Ostilian the first king, founded the kingdom and gave freedom of choice to the demihuman tribes that lived here. Join the kingdom with your representatives as nobles or leave. Back then, beastmen left and founded their kingdom in south west from here and dwarves left for east mountains where Mist kingdom used to be. Later his son declared freedom of all races as well as their right to gain noble titles.“

„The beastmen kingdom is now a vassal state, dwarves disappeared and elves hide in the forest to north and just rarely attend the kingdom’s meetings,“ I added and continued: „Some nobles call for crusade against demihuman tribes living in north-west, such as Orks, Ogres, Little ogres, Werewolves, Weretigers, Wererats, Lizardman and many others. Only thanks to the first kings law calling for equality of inteligent living creatures and combining their powers in battle against evil, they were stopped last time.“

„Royal academy, which the king also founded, have rule to accept anyone of any race and any social standing if they pass the test,“ Kiira said and looked out of the window, „Aparently, there are classes divided by roman alphabet. S, A, B, C, D, E, and lastly F. It’s said that only twenty best students can join the S class. I heard that the S class is divided by 'Seats' with First seat belonging to head of the class.“

„Kiira remember that the school also have point system. You can get points by scoring high on test, school activities, by doing quests with adventurers guild, which the school approved off and by capturing dungeon under the academy,“ I said rather boredly.

„There is also a dueling system for students. But you can only challange someone from one class up or down. It’s to make sure those in F class wouldn’t get instantly oblitirated by someone from S class.“

„That make’s sence, but I think that we won’t get any chance to show off our poweres in that kind of situation, after all, we are dragon slayers. No one would dare challange us,“ Kiira chuckled.

That’s a flag my dear. Now someone will definitely try that.

Soon we arrived at the mansion and… it was just as bad as I thought. Well, the letter said that renovation will be needed and that the king will pay for it but still!

Previous owner was none other then Duke Varill. He died under mysterious circumstances alongside his second son right in this mansion.

Right wing, where women live was practically untouched, but the left wing, where the duke had his office, was almost completly burned down.

„What are we going to do?“ Taru asked as she looked over the building.

„Well… for starters I will reinforce the walls with earth and metal magic. After that I will use nature control to fix the roof… don’t get surprised if I accidentaly create giant sakura in the middle of the building,“ I said sarcasticly.

„Right, we will take a look around the right wing then. We will need to refurbish the entire place anyway. The duchess pillaged the place before running away from the kingdom I heared,“ Alette smiled sourly as she looked at the building.

Duchess Anastasia  Valerie Varill was found guilty with human trafficing alongside duke Glemburg. Aparently she was the magician who made the slave collars which completly locked away the soul of the wearer, making them a soulless pupets. No need to say that this made the commoners wary of the nobles again.

I made my way to the office which was now completly empty.

„«Reinforce building» «Repair building» «Earth search» ...seems like there is a hidden room,“ I said while looking at misplaced pillar.

By pushing the pillar, I found a hidden staircase leading all the way under the building’s underground. There probably was a painting before it in the past, but that was long gone.

I went down the stairs and found a hidden room that was completly clean of treasures.

„Well, at least I got a hidden base… I always wanted one anyways, heheheh.“

I reinforced this place with magic as well. The staircase was hidden between walls and I could safely reach all rooms through these narrow passageways.

If I really wanted, I could visit the girls in their rooms after dark... but I'm not that kind of pervert.

I used Earth search once again just to be sure the reinforcement spell worked and I found something strange.

„There’s another room?“

I went to stone table in corner of the room and found out that I can push it inside the wall.

When I did that, another staircase to even deeper room appeared. As I went inside I started to feel I shouldn’t go. It was weird, nothing like me, and in that moment my unique skill Indomitable kicked in and the feeling disappeared.

„Probably some sort of psychic magic, Nina would probably like this…“ I haven’t seen her since we left for dungeon as she left for home of her adoptive family. The Gal Netrose Frontier county.

I made my way to the deepest part of the hidden staircase to find a spacious room. It was about twenty on twenty meters wide and four meters high.

„An armory huh… seems the former Duke didn’t know about this place… everything here is at least three hundread years old… but the weapons are in perfect shape is it becouse a spell? I remember that there is spell called Fixify, which can fix items to make them resistant to natural elements and even time, but that spell can hold for ten years at the most… ...a book?“

At the end of the room was a simple wooden table with ink bottles and book. I carefully sit in chair and opened it.

„‚Diary of Gavin Hirano Netrose‘  What? Like the ancestor of the Netrose family? What is this thing doing here?“

I skipped over few detailed depiction of authors love life and read the very last few days that were recorded here.

‚13. 10. 1245: In last few days I got the feeling like my life is being targeted. Even though they couldn’t do anything in last eighty years I lived here in Kingdom, they started swarming now... those bastards of Knightly kingdom. Probably becouse of my magic weapon collection I build up. Too bad for them, I had my wife put spells Fear, Return home, Life drain and Mana drain on entery to this hidden chamber. Only someone with resistances and nullification skills like me can enter it.‘

„Sorry gramps but I resisted it just like you.“

‚14. 10. 1245: I don’t know if anyone will read this at this point, but if you are from Netrose family or it’s branches, you can take anything you see here. It would be better then catching dust anyway. Before I forgot, there is also library with magic books. My dear Alette placed there her summoning grimoire. This is probably my last writing here so allow me to give you my will to inherit.‘

When I read it, a deep blue colored streaks appeared from the book and made their way by my hands to my heart. I freaked out like never before, but some weird magic didn’t allow me to let the book fall from my hands.

Soon, the light diminished and the book fell out of my hands.

„What the heck… was that… hm? Oh a skills got transfered into me… all swordsmanship technique skills huh? Unmovable Kastena technique, Mist sword technique, Angel flash technique, Demon sword technique… come again?“

With mind completly blown away I left the hidden room with grimoire in my item box. Quick thing to mention is that transfering skills through books is belived to be only a myth with only a handful of people actually knowing about it.

„I will look through this later… I have house to repair now…“

With that I left to finish the house repair before evening and helping Taru with cleaning.

And soon after that, the house was almost ready to live in. Only thing we needed was furniture.

"So, where can we get furniture anyway?" Kiira asked me.

"I already have it in my item box, don't worry," I reasured her.

"Say whaaaat?!"
