The Tale of how I was Reincarnated as a Hero but Decided I'd Help the Demon Lord Instead.

While the Lux led the able-bodied people of Towyn assaulted Castle Lothrin there were those who had to stay behind.

"Damn him! My lovely Graxia is out there risking life and limb! And yet I'm incapable of fighting!?" Volx shouted, veins bulging from his forehead as he stretched taffy in rage. Even at the late hour it was.

Luna who was sitting on the countertops kicking her legs sighed. "Come on Dad when he asked you were all over staying here."

"That's because the bastard guilt tripped me! I couldn't say no when Kotorai was right there! Especially when Koroki already decided to leave! I couldn't ignore a child in front of her mother. But still... I should be out there damnit! Graxia could need her father! Sometimes I wish she was like you, my darling Luna, perfectly content with not giving your daddy a heart attack everday. That's it I'm going after her!" Volx complained as he prepared to leave.

"Really grandpa? Your gonna leave us?" The soft sweat voice of Koroki's daughter froze Volx in his place and immediately cooled down his temper.

"Grandpa? I've always wanted to be a grandpa." Volx said in a gleeful and creepy voice. "I wonder if I'll ever be a real grandpa?"

"Of course you will. Me and Tokuma will have beautiful children." Luna teased.

"Hell no! That disgusting slob is undeserving of the very air he breathes let alone one of my angels!"

"Wow grandpa's mad." Kotorai said with a giggle.

Luna laughed as she watched Volx attempt to hide his temper tantrum. "Don't tell your mother I did that in front of you." He pleaded. "But you should tell the everyone that lunch is ready even if it is leftovers."

Kotorai nodded then left to spread the word to the rest of the people deemed incapable of fighting most of which being children or elderly folk.

"I suppose it's not that bad being stuck here." Volx admitted under his breath as he prepared to serve lunch.

Meanwhile Laif was glad he was close enough to the front lines that he didn't need to go that far before he was abled to shoot at Eros without fear of shooting one of his brainwashed allies.

"Release them." Laif demanded with an arrow ready to release at Eros.

"Even your not that dumb. I have your entire arm-" interrupting Eros was an arrow flying right past his face cutting into his cheek. "Your gonna regret missing my head. Your friend's name is Gurak right?" He snugly asked.

"..." Laif didn't bother to speak and instead just growled not allowing his aim to waver.

"That's a yes then? Good, Gurak kill him." Eros said. "If he fails your next Lux. Then Koroki, Valencia. But don't worry I won't hurt Nyx, much I have other plans for her. Tell you what, the only reason your unaffected by my charms is your elvish heritage, but that can be bypassed if you just stop fighting. Do that and I won't kill all of you."

Laif released his arrow only to have it deflected by Lux who stood to Eros' side. "You don't get to skip to the last boss. Have a little patience."

Gurak charged Laif like a raging bull fortunately he was unarmed and Laif found no difficulty in vaulting over him.

"Gurak! Don't go holding back on him! Use the royal flames you used back on cut. I want to see them up close, by some odd miracle your related to the demon lord which means your a royal demon and your flames are almost as powerful as her's. Burn him!"

"Related to the demon lord." Laif pondered for a moment before bursting in laughter. "Haha! And here you were making fun of my elven heritage when not only is it about to save your rear, but your related to the legit demon lord! Wow hypocrite much."

Whether being controlled by Eros or not Gurak replied smugly. "At least I can keep my shirt on. And if I were to lose mine I'd look like a man! Not a little boy!"

"Your just jealous I can get clothes for cheap!" Laif shouted

"Not that you even use them!"

"Gurak stop fooling around! Kill him already and be done!" Eros shrieked impatiently.

"That's that Laif. I can't hold back so you better not as well. Unless you wanna die."

"Oh come on Gurak, you don't even have any weapons, and you just learned you could use your demon fire so there's no way you've mastered it. This'll be a breeze." Laif said exaggerating on demon.

Laif was correct about Gurak's lack of skill with his flames and his disadvantage due to being unarmed. Yet he was more than capable of putting up a fight regardless.

Gurak's flames enveloped himself wildly, burning hotter then it ever did before scorching the earth where he walked, yet Laif knew this only meant he'd get exhausted quicker and used his superior dexterity to dodge Gurak's attacks, getting away with minor burns instead of missing teeth.

"Whew I'll admit your flames are quite hot. But how long can you keep it up?" Laif said as he patted out flames on his pants.

"Long enough." More flames poured from Gurak's body as he continued his onslaught of blows at Laif only to miss each of them.

"Come on Gurak. You know I was joking before when I said you were into dudes, but hey to each their own and stuff." Laif taunted, but not without reason as it made Gurak mad and predictable.

However Laif's burns were starting to add up and cause more pain making him involuntarily slow down. "Sure your not just gonna give up Gurak?" He panted.

Gurak panted with a smile on his face. "I don't think I have much of choice anymore. But just so you know I'd have kicked your butt already if I had my weapons, cheapshot."

As Gurak's body wasn't yet trained to withstand his new power he soon collapsed in exhaustion.

Laif stood shaking in exhaustion as well, but his willpower was still strong. "I didn't use any magic in that fight so I'm still ready to kill you if you don't free my friends!"

Eros looked around sarcastically. "Who me? You forget I still have your army. You beat one guy. How about two. Let's see, Lux. And..... Nyx." He said in a sinister voice.

"You said were wouldn't hurt her you lying scum!" Laif expressed his fury.

"Oh. But I didn't say she wouldn't hurt you." He chuckled.

Laif could barely hold out against the onslaught of attacks from Lux and Nyx. Bolts of lightning nearly blasted holes right through him where orbs of water or blades of light missed.

A small orb of fire left Nyx's staff and launched itself through Laif's leg instantly burning his wounds shut.

He collapsed to the ground unable to stand anymore due to the pain.

"Well that was boring." Eros complained. "A God of beauty like me deserves more... Ooh I know. Lux how about you kill Nyx now. Oh and Nyx, try to fight back I want a good performance now, fit for a God like me."

unable to control himself Lux slowly approached Nyx who stumbled back with a worried look.

"No!" Laif yelled, as he attempted to throw an arrow like a spear at Eros. Yet even with the impressive velocity he achieved. a demon from Towyn deflected it. "Stop it! I'll submit, I give up!"

Eros pondered for awhile. "Nah. You had a chance, I want you to live your life knowing that if you'd only given up, your little lover would still be alive."

Nyx tripped over a stone falling on her back while Lux rose his sword over her body.

His blade pierced through her skin just barely before he was tackled by a white samurai.

"You must be Eros." Musashi said as he averted his eyes. "Miyamoto warned me about you. No eye contact right? The second I look at you I lose my sense of self and become devoted wholly to you."

"Bastard! What does it matter, Lux is more then strong enough to take you out." Eros screamed.

"Maybe. But when it comes to fighting it's more than just your body that's moving. You may have taken control of his physical self, but his spirit is still fighting, and it's doing so with everything it's got. And without his spirit working with you. He's no match for my own fighting spirit." Musashi said with vigor. "I know just the stance for this."

Lux charged at Musashi, lightning pouring off of him like a rain.

"Rukūrai-no-kamae."

Once again Musashi timed his strike beautifully with Lux's lightning, only this time he used his tsuba as he didn't have much blade left.

"Ren no Jihi Fukai Striki." Musashi dashed through Lux saying as he passed him. "I'm sorry Lux. But it needs to be done. I need to see her."

Lux fell to the ground unconscious.

Meanwhile Laif had been slowly crawling to Eros from behind until he finally got close enough.

"Now you die!" Laif said right behind Eros as he wrapped his bowstring around his neck and pulled until his string became slippery with his blood allowing him enough oxygen to plead for his life before falling and to the ground.

Finally I found my way out of the castle and was incredibly surprised, not only because I was carrying a unconscious demon lord over my shoulder and nobody in Castle Lothrin seemed to notice but also because of the sight I saw at the entrance.

"Laif?" I asked looking between him and Gurak. "You look almost as bad as Gurak over there."

"Nevermind that. How's Makono?" Laif asked sincerely as he sat beside Nyx.

"She's out cold. I don't know what happened to her but it must've been exhausting." I said though I was the exhausted one after carrying her throughout the castle. "Where's everyone else?"

"Doesn't matter. "Musashi said out of the blue. "I don't care what happens here anymore, I'm truly sorry Tokuma, but it's been too long, I just want to see her smile again, I need to. Which is why I held back against Lux, because I know you won't let me kill Makono without a fight." Musashi continued solemnly.

"Musashi come on. Don't do this." I pleaded as I sat Makono down and stood in front of her defensively.

"Hana-chan. My lovely daughter. Do you know how long it's been since I've seen her? It's selfish I know but it's more then that. Her mother passed away recently, I'm all she gots, but if I'm not there she'll go to a foster home or end up on the streets. She could die. And I will watch both worlds burn before I let that happen!"

A huge blood red aura surrounded Musashi as he sheathed what was left of his sword in a similar stance to his last one only his blade was facing up and pointing to the ground.

"Hana-Sakura-no-Kamae: The stance of flower blossoms."

I prepared for a strike but before I could react he was already behind, me even with his sword in pieces he still managed to complete his mission...

"No Hana-Yuki."

And I couldn't stop him.
