Chapter 1:
My blood type
My name is Haru Nori. I'm 17-years-old and a high school student. I have a little sister Aki Nori, 14-years-old. My life is pretty normal, just like everyone else. I'm a vampire as you can tell by my sharp fangs and purple eyes. Now for your understanding, vampires always have purple eyes. They are also creatures with other eye colours, such as demons with red eyes or elves with even two eye colours. This way everybody has their place. Since humans were the source of all evil, they are now distinct and we creatures live happily together.
Right now, I'm walking to school with my sister and her best friend, Chiko Fushigi. They are like sisters to each other and inseparable. "Chiko-chan, can you lend me your homework? I was too lazy to do anything!" Chiko rolls her eyes. "This is the last time I will do that for you!" She pushes Aki slightly to the side and she rams into me. "Oh, sorry Onii-chan!" I walk faster, the other girls behind me. They are so fucking annoying! Why can't I just go to school alone? At the school's entrance, I see my best friend Seiichi Yutaka. I wave at him and he reacts. "Hey, Haru! Come over here, quick!", he hastes me.
"What's up?", I ask when I greeted him. "You know I like Shina and... I wanted to confess to her." "Yes..." He blushes and avoids eye contact with me as he scratches his neck awkwardly. "Well, I... talked to her before school and I asked her out to eat at lunch today." "What did she say?" "She said yes... however, I don't know if I can do this. I mean should I give her a gift or flowers or what?"
At that moment, Shina Yuzuki walks over to us. "Oh, hey Yuzuki-san", I greeted her. "Y-Yuzuki-senpai!", Seiichi blushes. "Morning, Yutaka-Kun and Nori-Kun." She smiles sweetly. I have to admit, Seiichi's taste for women ain't that bad. Yuzuki-san has raven black her, purple eyes and a beautiful smile. She is confident and the school's student president, one grade over us. If I were him, I would've fallen for her, however, I have other things in mind than girls. I have plans.
The school bell rings and we're making our way into our classrooms. Everybody is talking so loud, I can't even hear myself. When the teacher came in, the students immediately jumped into their seats. "Morning class." "Good morning, Tadashi-sensei", we all rehearse. "Today we are going to have a new student. Please come in." Everybody is watching intrigued as the new student enters the class. His short brown hair is messy and, as we all had, he has dark purple eyes. He wears a plain black t-shirt and blue jeans. On the side of the jeans, he has chains, which are connected to the side of his jeans. On his left arm, he has a tattoo and on both of his wrists, he has studded wristbands with spikes poking out. Overall, he is well-built and muscular. "My name is Kenta Kano." I snorted. He continued. "I'm 18-years old. I hope we all get along." He bowed and the teacher assigns him to his seat. The new guy sits a row behind me and I can feel him staring intensely at me. As I am wanting to turn around to ask him what his deal is, the teacher glances in my direction.

After school, I straight up ran home. When I arrived, I went into my room, throwing my bag on the ground. I throw myself on the bed and take my phone out, browsing the internet and social media. My parents wouldn't be here until evening and my sister is still in school and won't come home at any moment. You know what that means...
The doorbell rings and I quickly rush to the door. As I open it, I see a familiar face. The person briefly hugs me, which I return. "Miyu-chan, what are you doing here?" The blonde-haired petite girl smiles at me. She wears our classic school uniform, however, she doesn't have her schoolbag with her. Her full name is Miyu Tomomi. I've known her since the second grade and we've been friends ever since. She is like my other sister, but more annoying. I still enjoy her company though.
"I wanted to say hello. I haven't seen you today. What do you think of our new classmate? Isn't he kinda creepy?" I provide her entrance and she falls onto the couch. "I don't know", I admit. "He looks like the typical bad boy, though. Muscles, all those tattoos and stuff." She goes into the kitchen and returns with a drink. "Maybe. Do you think many girls would fall for him? Girls like bad boys, they're attractive." I roll my eyes. Do they really? Girls are weird.
"Soo, do you wanna do something tonight? Maybe go out to the cinema with Kazumi-chan. I know you like her <3" I sigh. I may like Ayumi Kazumi as a friend, but I have to focus on my future. After all, next spring are the final exams coming up and I'm taking school seriously. We were talking for a while - I declined her cinema suggestion - until she left. Now I am alone again. I look at the time. It's almost 5 pm. I have to go out.
I'm taking a walk in the nearby park, buying something bloody to drink and sitting on a bench, enjoying the view of children playing with their parents, lives getting sucked out of animals - for people who can't control their craving - and people trying to cut into the line for fresh animal blood. Everything we drink is animal blood. The things we eat consist of animal meat or some vegan shit, but I don't eat that stuff. Just when I was finished with my drink, I see a familiar figure in the distant. A figure I saw before. It was...
"Oi!" The guy walks up to me, holding out an empty paper bag. "Can you throw this away? Thanks." He wants to leave, however, I grab ahold of him. "Hey, where are you going, dumbass?! Take your shit with you!" "What's your name again? You're the one sitting in front of me, right?" I recognize him. The guy from earlier. Kenta... "Kenta Kano. Nice to meet you." I snort, again. He seems to notice this and glares at me. Well, shit.
"What's so funny? Huh?" His eyes pierce right through me, as I knot the paper bag around his arm. "Argh, what are you doing?!" He shakes his arm in an attempt to release the paper bag, all in vain. I hold my stomach as I laugh vehemently. Shit, this guy is the definition of stupidity! "IT'S NOT FUNNY!" This makes me laugh even harder, I can barely breathe! "You're such an idiot, Kano-san." Suddenly all his rage is gone and he smiles at me. I stop laughing and glance at him. Weirdly enough, I just realize that he wasn't wearing our school uniform. "Where's your school uniform?", I ask curiously. His cheeks turn slightly pink and he avoids eye contact, awkwardly rubbing the back of his head. "I-It's in the w-washing machine..."
We are walking together, not saying a word. Then Kano-san breaks the silence. "So, uh, can we, like, exchange numbers or something like that?" He pulls out his phone, ready for me to type in my number. Did he really just ask that? I don't know, if that's such a good move to start a friendship. Whatever. I type in my number and his gaze is glued onto the phone. "Alright... thanks, I guess." "You do have WhatsApp, right? Text me, as soon as you get home", I say. Soon we arrive near my house. "Alright, good night." I wave briefly and run off 'til I am at the doorstep, opening the door, as I entered and closing it behind me. I didn't dare to look after Kano-san, I'm sure he'll find his way home.

It's been almost 7 pm and my sister and parents haven't come home yet. Strange. I'm deciding to give them a call before I would study for school. It rings three times, no one picks up. "Please leave a message-" I hang up. Alright, maybe Aki is just over at a friend's house and my parents are shopping or something. I head towards my room and close it before studying for school and going to sleep afterwards. Kenta Kano... What an asshole.
