Hui Yue's admirers

Lan Du walked out the office with a carefree expression, she hummed lightly and skipped out onto the training ground, her mood seemed to be quite good and she wore a smile. Some who didn't know her would see her as. very cheerful young man, but those who did, shuddered in fear the moment they saw her.

No matter how carefree and cheerful she seemed, no one dared to approach her.

Lan Du walked to a tree next to the training ground, that tree has been there for many years and it was the one Lan Du would often lean on to sleep. But as time passed, she found it more breezy when she slept on the largest branch.

As she got up, she checked the branch to make sure it can hold her weight as she placed a book over her face and began dozing off.

But then, a ball flew in her direction, Lan Du who was preparing to sleep didn't notice, and the ball landed on her head, causing her to lose balance.

Lan Du wobbled but barely stayed on the branch.

Lan Du rubbed her head as she looked around, she saw some mischievous kids giggling as they grabbed the ball and ran. She shook her head and decided to forget it, the kids looked like they were only 12 or 13 so she wasn't bothered to chase after them.

The kids later came back, they saw that Lan Du didn't move and decided to sleep again, they held up the ball and was about to throw it when some seniors quickly stopped them.

"What are you kids doing, do you know who that is?" He whispered hastily

The kids stared at him

"Senior brother, isn't he just a slacker? From what I see, he is just a lazy bum, he wasn't even bothered to chase us when we kicked the ball at him" They replied

The young man sighed

"That's because you kids are still young, so he didn't bother to teach you a lesson, but if he really gets angry, no one in this school can save you" His eyes expressed fear as his hands trembled.

The kids laughed

"We can just tell the instructors if he does, who would be afraid of him?" They laughed and tossed the ball at Lan Du.

Lan Du suddenly raised her hand up, the ball landed on her hand and stopped. She then clenched her hands and a loud *bang* was heard as the ball popped.

She then removed the book on her face

"Tell me which instructor teaches them, I'll go pay him a beating" Lan Du said nonchalantly, her gaze was calm but the senior student grabbed the kids and ran.

"Keep running and I'll find you later" Lan Du spoke out casually

The young man froze and turned around

"You kids really messed up big time now" He turned to them and said nervously

Lan u stayed on the tree, she just turned her head and glanced at them

"Kids, let me ask you, what made you think it's a good idea to throw that ball at me?" Lan Du asked as she tossed the remains of the ball to the ground.

The kids didn't feel intimidated

"Humph, we aspire to be great soldiers, seeing you slack off makes us feel sic-" The senior quickly covered the boy's mouth but then he heard Lan Du laugh.

She closed the book and sat up

"These kids are quite promising, unlike someone" Lan Du's eyes landed on the senior student

"What?" The senior student was confused

Lan Du smiled

"These kids had the guts to speak up at me, telling me their goals and reasons, yet you, a senior is shaking your legs so hard you can probably run a marathon with the amount of times your legs moved"

"B-But that's because they don't know who you are, I-"

"Shut up" Lan Du said coldly

Lan Du then jumped down and walked over.

"Kids, you think I was slacking right?" Lan Du asked slowly

The kids nodded fearlessly

Lan Du laughed

"Not a bad gaze, reminds me of when I was younger, but you brats lack the strength" Lan Du then left the area and walked to the wooden poles planted in the centre of the training ground.

The kids followed along with the senior, Lan Du placed one hand on the pole.

"Back then, I had a few mischievous brats dig a hole and plant these poles into the ground, and if they couldn't do it by the time I returned, they'd have to dig another hole to plant a second pole" Lan Du said as she tapped the pole and the pole burst into bits.

Her actions shocked the kids

"W-What just happened"

Lan Du chuckled

"Kids, he is the difference between me and that senior behind you, we're both of the same age group, but our difference is, I have the capability to slack off" Lan Du chuckled and said in an arrogant tone.

The kids took in a deep gulp as they stared at the shattered log, one was brave enough to then speak up

"S-So what if you're strong, in t-the end, y-you're still slacking off"

Lan Du rubbed her chin

"You do have a fair point, but recently, I've been too tired to get proper rest, otherwise, did you think I'd need two fingers to break that log? A pinky would do" Lan Du blew on her finger, blowing off any wood dust that were still on it.

Her words suddenly made the kids all look at her with bright eyes

"Then can senior flick that tree to bits as well?" They asked with a trace of enthusiasm

Lan Du stared at the tree and shook her head

"That tree has been there for quite a while, I enjoy napping on it and that place has some good memories as well" Lan Du smiled and sat down beside the tree.

The kids also sat down with her

"Can we hear about that memory?" They asked curiously

Lan Du smiled

"Of course, it was 6 years ago, a few days before the incident, I ended up sending a few overconfident brats to the hospital, so they had their senior brothers come take revenge for them, in the end, I pummelled them below this tree till they begged me to kill them, so I ended up crippling one of them and the other one was so scared he wet himself so I crushed his b*lls" Lan Du clasped her hands together and said cheerfully

"Though I ended up getting into a bit of trouble, not from the academy, but because I tried to 'visit' them, I think it caused a deep traumatic scar to rise so they spend a few hours trying to calm down over a dozen patients"

The kids began to sweat and their faces paled

"Ahahaha, senior brother, you're joking right?" They all asked nervously

Lan Du nodded her head

"You kids are smart, you're right, I actually just threatened every one of them instead of visiting them, then the outbreak happened, they nearly jumped out the window just to escape" Lan Du laughed

The kids became even more pale

"S-Senior, you won't hold it against us for throwing the ball...right?"

Lan Du chuckled

"Of course not... but do tell me your instructor, after all, responsibility falls onto the guardian.... want some candy?" Lan Du reached into her pockets and took out some lollipops.

The kids shook their heads

"W-We were told not to trust people who gave us candy... and we won't be able to withstand your might" They said with a frightened voice.

Hearing this, Lan Du laughed, she laughed so hard that tears were rolling down her face as she held her stomach, she sat up and wiped the drop from her eyes.

"You kids are hilarious, I was just like you when I was your age, attitude wise at least" Lan Du leaned back on the tree and glanced at the kids.

"You still haven't told me who your instructor is, if you don't, people would think of me as someone who abuses kids" Lan Du yawned

The kids looked at one another, they hesitated, but suddenly their eyes became firm. They shook their heads and stared at Lan Du.

"No, we won't tell you, we would rather die than tell you anything" They said stubbornly

Lan Du stared at them, her gaze became cold and chilled.

"Did you think I didn't have a temper? It seems I've been too kind recently" Lan Du said coldly, her eyes sent chills down their spines as they felt a strong pressure weigh down on them.

It wasn't a natural force, rather, it was just pure fear that caused this pressure.

"W-We won't say a thing" They shouted

Suddenly, the pressure disappeared

"Not bad, keep it up and you kids will grow up to be interesting individuals" Lan Du stood up and climbed back onto the tree.

She covered her face once again and dozed off.

The kids all glanced at one another, as if they had just escaped from the tiger's den, they were sweating and let out a sigh of relief.

"He... wasn't that bad of a person" One of them muttered

"mn, he was funny, and also...pretty" Another said with a shy expression

The other boys couldn't help but nod, though they were embarrassed as well.

They naturally began looking up to Lan Du, like an idol. They respected her strength, and felt a strong domineer aura around her, like a king who would look down upon them.

Lan Du fell asleep the moment she closed her eyes so she didn't know what they were talking about, she just dozed and it was only after a few hours did she wake up.

"It's already the afternoon, I must've slept for quite a while" Lan Du muttered and jumped off the tree, she looked around and stared at the logs sticking out the ground.

A light smile curled up.

"4 and a half years ago, they were still under my guidance, I kinda miss those meat ba-my old subordinates" Lan Du coughed and walked over. She placed a hand over the slashes on the logs.

"I surprise myself sometimes, to think I was teaching them this for two years" Lan Du chuckled and turned her head, she walked down to the lake and the area has been renovated since she has last been there.

There were benches and a sidewalk, unlike before where it was just a large patch of water in the middle of nowhere.

She sat down on the bench and gazed at the clear waters.

"Haven't seen you in a while, you little brat" A voice came from behind her, she turned her head and saw instructor Ting, the female instructor who she had years ago.

Lan Du stared at her

"Instructor Ting....did you gain weight?" Hearing this, instructor Ting slammed her hand against Lan Du's head

"Is that seriously the first thing you're going to say after 6 years!"

Lan Du stuck out her tongue

"Well, should I spread the news when you pinned me down six years ago? I realised that there was camera inside the office so I deleted parts of it and downloaded the bits where you were on top of me" Lan Du shrugged her shoulders and said cheekily

Instructor Ting shook in anger

"You! That was sixyears ago and you're still going on about it! You were the one who caused it as well!"

Lan Du snickered

"Video evidence, as long as you have the full video, you can prove your innocence, but I deleted part of it, since it's from 6 years ago, it is almost impossible to recover, so only I hold the evidence" Lan Du chuckled

Instructor Ting slapped the back of her head once again

"Hateful! I'm still your instructor" She shouted

Lan Du smiled and stared at the water

"Enough about it then, do you know why I like this lake?" Lan Du smiled and asked her

Instructor Ting stared at the clear water

"It's a beautiful scene, is it not?" She replied

Lan Du shook her head as a sadistic smile rose to her face.

"I used to train my subordinates here, if they misbehave, I'd have them stay underwater until they fell unconscious, of course, I won't let them die, but if they tried to get out early, I'd shove their heads back down into the waters" Lan Du explained as she giggled to herself.

Instructor Ting was speechless, is that really her reason to liking the lake?

Lan Du stared at instructor Ting

"Back then, tehy were quite obedient so only a few got punished, now that they're gone, I really miss the times we spent together" Lan Du sighed and shook her head

"Left? Why would they leave? Being your subordinates, unless they all dropped out, how can they leave before you?" Instructor Ting questioned

Lan Du chuckled

"I pummeled a few seniors when I was in my first year in this academy, they didn't know how old I was, but ended up calling me boss, now, they are all at the main army training grounds, I wouldnt see them for another year"

Once again, instructor Ting was baffled, a junior beating up her seniors? She has only every heard the reverse but not anything like what Lan Du described. She thought back on Lan Du's rich combat experience and how she used to fight in a ferocious manner.

Gradually, she understood, the seniors were all stubborn and straightforward individuals, they just follow the strong. If Lan Du indeed beat them in a fight, then it would be normal for them to follow her as a boss.

Except, this boss of theirs is nearly 5 years younger than them!

Just as they were talking, Lan Du's phone began ringing, she held it up and saw it was from Hui Yue. She smiled gently as she answered the call.

[Du Du, I'm getting bullied]

Lan Du paused, her smile disappeared

"Which twerp dares to touch you, where are you" Lan Du said hurriedly

[Humph, I'm not in danger, just some brat is trying to get me to be his wife, now he had his guards surround the shop]

"Did you open the shop to sell medicine again? Sis, I've told you, just wait another year and it'll be fine, but you just had to open it again" Lan Du shook her head and sighed, she turned to instructor Ting

"I'll being going first, I have a hyperactive sister to rescue"

[Hyperactive?! I'll show you what's hyperactive when you get here!]

Lan Du chuckled and hung up.

Instructor Ting furrowed her brows

"I'll go with you" She said

"Do what you want" Lan Du replied and dashed off, since Hui Yue said she wasn't in any danger, Lan Du didn't worry too much.

Wehn Lan Du arrived at the scene, she saw Hui Yue standing at the front of the shop playing on her phone as the guards stood around doing nothing. She was slightly confused, she then saw a young man with a bouquet of roses in his hand.

"Miss Hui, I have fallen in love with you from the moment I laid eyes on you, will you go out with me?" He said earnestly

Hui Yue glanced up

"Just give me a few minutes" She then started tapping her phone at an insanely high speed.

Lan Du understood the situation, the young man proposing is someone who would highly likey either be a cruel ma in disguise, or a henpeck husband.

Lan Du walked over and tapped the young man's shoulders, she then turned to Hui Yue.

"Hui Hui, he seems quite serious about it, you've been single for quite some time as well, he doesn't seem like a bad choice" Lan Du had a lollipop in her mouth as she chuckled.

Hui Yue glanced up

"Eh, so what if I'm single, not everyone is like you" She retorted

Lan Du chuckled and patted the young man's shoulders

"Well, if he is serious about loving you, I don't mind having a brother-in-law, but if he is just doing it for the fun, his life will be filled with fear of living" Lan Du smiled and glanced at the young man, he was quite handsome, in fact, so good looking Lan Du found him sickening.

The young man tensed up

"You're her brother?" He asked

Lan Du nodded

"Well, if you want to marry my sister, one, you'll take on her surname, my family never marries into other people's household, two, I can supply you with any ammount of expenses, only if you never wate it on useless things, three, she must have consent, finally, and most important of all, you must be strong" Lan Du counted each condition as she walked over to Hui Yue.

"Sis, what do you think?" Lan Du chuckled and patted her head

Hui Yue puffed her cheeks

"Just because I was single all this time doesn't mean you can prepare some blind date for me, did you plan this?" She glared at her and asked.

Lan Du waved her hand

"Nonsense, I don't even know the kid, but in the end, it all depends on his personality, it's rare to find a henpeck husband in this era, most the other good looking guys are either assholes or those who ends up having multiple wives" Lan Du glanced at the young man

"So lad, what's your choice"

The young man went into deep consideration

"I-If I can gain the love of miss Hui, I'll do anything" He said earnestly

Lan Du laughed

"Look at how innocent that kid is, he's quite fresh as well, sis, won't you consider it?" Lan Du nudged her and laughed.

Hui Yue slapped Lan Du's head

"Enough fooling around, also, who's that woman behind you, don't tell me you already found another women to fool around with" She stared at instructor Ting and asked.

Instructor Ting was baffled

"Another woman? Lan Du, how old are you and you're already being a playboy?" Instructor Ting pulled Lan Du's ears and shouted.

Lan Du chuckled

"Instructor, did you come here to help or scold me? You already know I have two sweeties waiting for me to bring them a marriage registration, why would I need to fool around?"

The young man took in a deep breath and walked over

"M-Miss Hui, will you consider me?" He asked

Lan Du slapped Hui Yue's back

"Look at his puppy dog eyes sis, he's gonna cry is you don't answer soon" Lan Du laughed
