Chapter 30:

The Tale of how I got Reincarnated as a Hero but Decided to Help the Demon Lord Instead and Lived Happily Ever After(End)

The Tale of how I was Reincarnated as a Hero but Decided I'd Help the Demon Lord Instead.

With a flash of thundering lightning the battle between father and son began.

In spite of Lux's insane speed Lothrin had no difficulty catching him by his throat.

"Come on son." Lothrin said as he slammed Lux to the ground with the force of an earthquake. "Your gonna have to be smarter than that. Cause if your just trying to overpower me, your not gonna win."

Lux caked his body in lightning forcing Lothrin to release him. "We can't fight here," he said as he looked at the crater his father created and the devastation of moral it awoken in the hearts of the resistance.

"Agreed, we should go to the plains behind the castle. Men, stay here until I return," Lothrin ordered.

Lux nodded for us to do the same. However I snuck by and followed, observing them from afar no matter the outcome I wasn't gonna let anything happen to my friends.

Behind the castle were plains stretching as far as the eye could see it was hard to see before due to the heights of the castle, the fields were absolutely gorgeous however as the silver light of the moon reflected off each blade of autumn grass creating a nearly greyscale landscape."Now Lux, let us fight for real."

Lux equipped his own version of Miyamoto's gun with the primary difference being that it was golden instead of red. On his side he also materialized his signature messer.

With each consecutive shot fired from the revolver thunder boomed as the heavens themself parted ways. However Lothrin was having no problem casually dodging them with little movement.

"I told you, you can't overpower me. No matter how fast you go, or how fast you shoot that little toy gun, everything will falter before the law of time."

Lothrin appeared behind Lux, not like teleportation or speed, it was as though he stopped time and just walked to him.

He launched his knee into Lux's gut while dodging a bullet, sending Lux flying back before he appeared behind him with an arm bar causing Lux to perform several rotations before falling to the ground face first.

Lux however slowly stood back up and emitted an aura of lightning shocking anyone who got too close.

Lothrin however managed to dodge each bolt of lightning moving so quickly it looked like a mirage and punched Lux right in his face with impressive force even for him, skipping Lux across the fields.

Once Lux stabilized he barely ducked a strong swing of Lothrin's metal war-club and finally landed his first hit with a lightning charged kick shoving Lothrin back a few feet at last.

"Nice one. I knew you had a little bit of me in you." Lothrin said with a smile.

"Let's just get this over with." Lux answered obviously running out of stamina as he barely keep standing.

Lothrin closed the distance in an immeasurably short time and swung his club at Lux's gut while grabbing his collar to stop him from moving.

"Are you prepared son? To die? To be responsible for the deaths of your friends?" Lothrin spoke into Lux's ear. "I'll spare you if you make your army stand down. They will die of course demons are a scourge in this world. But you don't have to die with them, join me again, like we used to be."

Lux groaned and rasped as he raised his head. "I have a question. One I've wondered for years."

"Ask away. I won't lie to you." Lothrin said. "Anything to convince you to come back."

"Why did you kill mom?"

Lothrin's eyes widened in shock. "You've known? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. It happened not long after she had you, something inside her snapped I suppose it was her inner demon, but she tried to kill you claiming that you were some kinda apostle of the apocalypse you and my adopted son, the one who died, Aceil. She claimed that you two were some kinda world ending phenomenon and if you ever met, both of our worlds would become conjoined and destroy each other. Her mind was lost and she attempted to poison you via your food that's when I did it, I knew that just because she had felled them she would only try again, and so when we laid in bed I waited for her to fall asleep and gave her a peaceful death. It became obvious her demonic advisors planted the madness in her head and activated her insanity. Which is why they must all die! They can't ever be forgiven for what they did."

Lux slowly stood up. "Your wrong, she was a good person and she was a demon, that just proves they're are others like her. Your just too blind to see! Your rage has rendered you senseless!" He argued.

"It's sad to see you don't understand." Lothrin said as he conjured a spear dispelling his club. "I wish it didn't have to end like this."

The fight continued as it started with Lux being pummeled by Lothrin, only surviving by barely avoiding his relentless onslaught of lethal blows with each attack of his own being deflected with ease.

"Lux I wanted to make this quick, but you seem to be enjoying the pain."

Lux appeared behind Lothrin with his sword protruded forward to pierce his father. But Lothrin hastily turned to him retracting his spear before thrusting it deep into Lux's chest down to it's shaft piercing through his back and each plate of armor he wore.

"Lux!" I yelled as I attempted to close the distance but due to my lack of energy after Musashi it was an act in vain to arrive anytime soon.

"I guess your foresight is a little rusty." Lux said as his own sword pierced Lothrin's stomach.

"I suppose so. How's it feel to have saved your people? Who could've asked for a better death." Lothrin said before collapsing beside Lux ending the fight between the too. Or so it seemed.

Lothrin stood back up after awhile seemingly faking his death for the same of Lux "At least you died believing you saved your people. Even if they have to die anyways. That wound you created will slow me down no doubt. But your people will still fall."

Lothrin's eyes widened in shock as he foresaw his future. a second after my dirk pierced the back of his neck exiting out of his mouth.

Even though I was still too far to reach him spatial manipulation closed the distance.

"Your not killing, anyone else!" I exclaimed.

I figured with them both dead the war would just continue until both sides fall resulting in more people dying maybe even another friend, and so I enacted a plan that was sure to bite me in the butt.

After a couple hours of carrying both corpses back I laid them on the ground.

"What now? I've killed both of your leaders. I've been on both sides I know all of your secrets. You could keep fighting but if you do, I'll kill all of you, or you could unite against a common enemy. Unite against me." I said utilizing my S rank profession while sporting a mad smile.

Usagi collapsed at Lux's corpse weeping over it. As Johannes did the same to Lothrin's. And all of the soldiers on both sides readied their weapons at me.

I was immediately apprehended and imprisoned sentenced to death in two months..

There was a select few of people on both sides who saw through my facade but they enjoyed the peace too much to speak up. There were a few rebellions of course but nothing too serious.

"So it worked then?" I asked sitting in the corner of my cell on the day before my execution.

"Yeah. Everyone is happy I just wish you didn't have to do what you did." Graxia replied solemnly. "Oh yeah, Laif and Nyx are getting married. Also it turns out Miyamoto has had a thing for me and we've been talking about getting married as well."

"That's great. " I said before looking to the ground solemnly. "Is she ready? Makono I mean."

"Yeah. We tried to convince her but she wasn't budging even if she's not being pursued by anyone she refuses to let you go alone."

"She knows Torrikkusatu's coming with right?"

"You know what I meant." Graxia said tearing up. "We're gonna miss you. Those of us who know what you did will never forget it, our children and our grandchildren will know the truth."

"Thanks."

The next day the cell was empty aside from a single note that read

'Remember what your sovereigns died for, for I will, and if you fail to respect them, all that which you stand for, will crumble in my wake.'

                                                                                               -The Rogue Hero

The guards surely searched for me just as I wanted in hopes of cementing the peace.

But I was nowhere to be found living my life in the Orochi Isles where Torrikkusatu brought me and Makono. It was just as deadly as I heard but I grew to like it. The people there had a unique way to use magic and it was dotted in powerful guilds Torrikkusatu was actually the leader of one before he left.

Days turned into years. I would receive the occasional letter from the main land but I would never be abled to respond for obvious reasons. The Rogue Hero became a legend that was kept in the minds of those who wanted to disturb the peace a fact I was much appreciative of.

Apparently a statue was constructed of Lux and Lothrin back to back supposed to symbol the union of the two forces. They eventually got large enough to dethrone even Lyrn in riches and population. They named their new country after their two leaders. Thrix it was called.

And there it is. The Tale of how I got Reincarnated as a Hero but Decided to Help the Demon Lord Instead and Lived Happily Ever After.
