Chapter 25:

Chapter 9. Stay Away Part II. (V)

The Spirit In Me

For a brief moment, Dot's look changed.

He remembered a pair of glowing green eyes, being hidden by two people.

One is a child, and one is an adult. Fear fills his bones.

"You know nothing!" he argued furiously. "If you only knew... if you only knew who he really is! What he really is! You wouldn't be talking like that!" he said angrily. "I, as a child, experienced things that no other child experienced! Things that no other child should ever experience! And It's all because of him! You will never understand! No one will ever understand!" he shouted fiercely. He grabbed his head as he took a deep breath with closed eyes.

"Listen. You don't understand what I do and for what," he insisted with a softer tone. "I'm doing this for you. To protect you and others. Because I know who he really is." He looked into Lin's eyes. "I've seen his true face. Believe me. A monster like him doesn't deserve any good!" he exclaimed angrily.

"You won't choose who deserves good or not, and you won't decide for me who to hang out with and who's not. My choices are none of your business. Don't interfere!" Lin exclaimed with restrained fury against Dot, looking back deep into his eyes as Veta the teacher walked into the classroom and stopped their argument.

Dot's frown was still directed at Lin but she didn't back down as she returned with her own intense glare. The stare-down continued until the teacher asked the students to sit down. Surprisingly, Dot was the first to break eye contact as they each took their seats.

"Stupid girl..." Dot grumbled in displeasure. "For sure he did something to her. Messed with her head. No sane person would choose that. She doesn't understand enough who he is. What he is.".

Lin turned her gaze to Loy, who looked back at her. She raised her eyebrows in satisfaction, "Did you see what I did to him?" her face hinted. In response, Loy smiled at her, confirming that he saw that she had won.

The rest of my classmates looked at Lin. "What just happened here?" Shira asked herself.

In the classroom, a strange feeling prevailed, which caused no one to be focused on Veta's words, who was lecturing vigorously.

For all their life, they have gotten used to the existing status quo.

It was so bad that years ago Loy gave up any chance to be one of them. In his defense, they made sure to confiscate him in a way that left him no chance of getting close.

But despite everything that had happened, they got used to seeing him around, out of the corner of their eye. He was always there. As a decor item. But, when she arrived, suddenly something changed. The classmates felt it, some without even realizing it. How it feels when a change is occurring. How it feels when something that has been dormant for so long, comes back to life.
