Chapter 2:

Conscious

BEDLUM!

I’m still a little dazed from what just happened on the bus. I can’t seem to come up with a reason that can justify what just happened

While in thought, a car is coming down the road and headed towards me. To see how real this is, I stand still on the road, right in the car’s path. 200 feet, 100 feet, 50 feet. I shut my eyes and hold my breath.

I can hear the car drive straight through me, the wind causing some nearby leaves to scatter. I open my eyes and see that the car is gone past me as it would normally. Not a single ounce of doubt is left in me after that.

“No, please. Am I going to stay like this forever?”

“Well that depends on you” Startled by this voice; I turn my head around and am met with the cloaked figure that I saw in my dream.

“W-what are you doing here? Aren’t you only apart of my dream”

“No, no. My name’s uh…Joe, and funnily enough I’m the reason for you current circumstances”

“What do you mean?”

“You see, back when I asked you whether you wanted to fly or be invisible, you let me pick for you. So because of that you now have the ability to be invisible. Ain’t that exiting?”

“No, this s**t sucks. And what do you mean when you say “it depends on me”?”

“Well my ungrateful little friend, you probably had a moment where you thought about using some sort of power, right?”

“Y-yeah I guess”

“Now do you remember what you were thinking in that moment?”

“Hmm… oh s**t it’s, BEDLUM”

“There you go, now you’re back to normal”

“Well I don’t feel different”

“Yeah obviously there’s not some cool transformation, this is real life, and we also can’t afford one. Welp I’m done for today, see ya in a while crocodile;)”

“No wai- and he left.” I’m left there standing on the road by myself. Just to see if I’m really back to normal, I wait for another car to come by. Soon one is coming down the road. I get in front of it again, with my arms spread out, ready to embrace it.

“HONK HONK” I quickly get out the way of the car.

“Get the f**k out the way d**k head!” The driver yells at me.

I probably could’ve used a better method in testing it out, but none the less I’m relieved to be back to normal.
