Chapter 1:

Aaron

My Darling Angel

Aaron woke up and stared at his ceiling. The chipping wood flaked at the edges, and light filtered in through his tiny window. He groaned and put his hands over his face. It was a Sunday, which meant he had to be up and running to go to work. He pulled his hands away and looked at his alarm clock. 3:00, He thought to himself. It was way to early. But he might as well wake up, he was never gonna get back to sleep.

After he showered and dressed, he grabbed his comb and ran it through his tousled black-red hair. It was a weak attempt to tame it, but it was still something. For a split second, it stayed down. He grinned, then it popped out of its slicked-back way and into its normal self. He rolled his eyes, grabbed his jacket and keys, and walked out the door. The smell of piss and shit hit him almost instantly, and he wrinkled his nose. A loud moan came from next door, and he rolled his eyes. Larry must have a new cunt. He thought to himself.

It was about 3:30 when he arrived at Lara and Sara's Cafe. As he walked in, the bell tinkled, and the smell of roses and pastries hit him. It was a relief from the smell of his apartment. He smiled, and walked past the empty tables, and went straight to his office. He dumped his stuff down and put on his uniform-a black tux with a rose in one of the pockets. He opened his door to leave and ran right into Sara. "Hey Aaron, your here early!" She exclaimed, smiling. Her auburn hair was pinned up in a bun, and her emerald eyes sparkled with amusement.

"Hey Sara." He replied, giving a tentative smile. "Could you be a dear?" "We have a customer." She asked apologetically. "Its fine, i'll get right there." He said, making to walk past her. "And...one more thing." He winced, turning back around to face her. "Be careful." She said, all amusement gone from her eyes. But then the sparkle returned, and she dismissed him. As he walked away, he couldn't help but think: If you knew what I really was, you wouldn't care about me.

As he walked over to the table, he couldn't help but notice how..interesting the customer was. He had a bushy red beard, leathery skin, and twinkling blue eyes that squinted out behind small glasses. He was a huge man, and seeing him sitting down at that tiny table, he could barely stifle a laugh. "H-hello sir, how may I help you?" Aaron asked, pulling out his pen and notepad. The man smiled. "Could I know what today's specials are?" He asked, stroking his beard. "Yes, we have Fairyberry Scones, Winterberry Thronecakes, and a Pumperkin Spice Latte." Aaron recited, forcing a smile. The man looked thoughtful for a moment, then ordered the Fairyberry scone.

Aaron nodded and walked away. He could feel the mans eyes on him, and he shivered. He knocked on the counter, and Lana popped up. Her blonde hair fell down to her waist, and her big brown eyes looked at him for a moment before taking the paper and poppng back down. He walked back over to the man and said: "Your order will be ready soon." As he turned around, the mans hand brushed against his ass. His golden eyes flared in suprise, but he pretended not to notice as he walked back to his office. There, he slumped against the wall and cried.
