Chapter 5:

A favor

Empire

"Don't lie to me boy." said the man staring daggers at Kenjin even though the man's eyes were covered by his hair.

"protection is not really why you want one of these weapons. Based on the way you are dressed, your attitude, and how you act around food, you must be from the slums of one of the kingdoms." He would say with a stern look on his face.

"Since you want one so bad I will grant your wish and I will give you one. But in return, you will have to do something for me. I want you to use the Zerstorung to take care of something for me. I want you to assassinate a king for me." The man would say as he grinned.

Kenjin's eyes would widen." Y-Y-YOU WANT ME TO KILL A KING?!?" he said as he stood up with a shocked expression.

"H-how am I supposed to kill a king? And why do you want me to kill someone" He would ask.
"I have only killed to protect myself and Ryu. But he wants me to kill a Royal? But then again I guess I have no other option; even if I died nobody would care. If the world is this cruel to me then I will be just as cruel back" Kenjin would think to himself as a slight smile would cross his face.

"If you teach me how to use a Zerstorung I will do it but then again it would not matter if I died since I lost everyone so screw it ill do it." Kenjin would say as confident as ever. A smile would appear on the man's face.

"Good with that level of confidence maybe you will make it out alive. I'll introduce myself now. My name is Hibracan. Follow me let's begin." Hibracan said as he walked to the front door. He would open the door to a beautiful forest with spruce trees so tall that you could not even see the top.

"It will take a while to prepare you. First, you are going to go retrieve your weapon."
Hibracan said while pointing at a dirt path that was going through the forest.

"Now go." Hibracan said as he started walking back to the front door.

Kenjin would start to walk on the path through the forest. As he is walking it would start to slowly get dark. After what seemed like hours of walking Kenjin would look up at the sky and see that it was pitch black."W-what the hell not a single star in the sky. Well, that explains why it's so dark." He would think as looks back to see nothing but darkness. The only thing he could feel was the ground beneath his feet. He would start to walk faster bracing himself in case he bumps into something.

"I need to calm down and think, the ground from the path and the ground from the surrounding area are different. The path I originally saw at the cabin was sand and it still feels like I am walking on sand so the only thing I have to do is make sure that it still feels like sand."
he thought. As he is walking he would see light emitting from far ahead of him. Kenjin would start running toward the light and as he got closer he would start to feel strong continuous gusts of wind and would hear the rustling of leaves falling and wind blowing throwing the forest. As he comes closer he would see an open area illuminated by moonlight with one small tree in the middle. Kenjin would stop running and get on one knee while breathing heavily from exhaustion. He would look up at the moon that was illuminating the open area.
"T-these trees... I can't even see their top it's like they are endlessly tall." he would utter as he took a deep breath. He would get up and cover his face against the strong wind with his arm. He would start to walk toward the tree. As he is walking to the tree he would see swords everywhere, some stuck in the ground, some in the tree. Suddenly Kenjin would start to feel a chilling cold throughout his entire body. Every step Kenjin took would be like being crushed by a layer of mixed negative emotions.

" W-What the hell is this... It's like my nerves are being frozen. Is this fear? Shit, I need to focus on getting my weapon. I know He told me to retrieve my weapon but which one do I choose?" he thought to himself. Kenjin would approach a sword stuck in the ground. He would slowly reach out his arm and grasp the grip of the sword. Suddenly an intense wave of pressure would travel through his body forcing him to let go of the weapon. He would look at the palm of his hand in shock.

"Where the hell did these cuts come from?!?" he would shout as he looked at his hand that was covered in bloody cuts.

"Come on focus I got this!" he would shout as he grabs the grip of the sword and pulls with all of his strength. Another wave of pressure would reverberate throughout his entire body causing cuts to appear on his arm. He would unleash a vicious scream as he pulls on the weapon:

" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!" Kenjin would let go of the sword and drop to his knees from pain and exhaustion and would breathe heavily.

"T-this one didn't work... So I'll have to try all of them until one works." He said while stuttering and breathing heavily. He would start to go from blade to blade and try to pull them out but none of them would budge, his bloodcurdling screams echoing throughout the forest. Kenjin would be covered in blood and cuts. Kenjin would look at the trunk of the tree and see that it had a chain tied to it. Between the chain and the tree, there would be a short straight blade with no cross-guard. Kenji would see the weapon and stumble toward it. he would grab the chain with both hands and pull on it until it loosened and fell to the ground. The sword would drop to the ground as well. Kenji would crouch and move the chain out of the way with his hand to grab the sword but the chain would suddenly fling at Kenjin's right arm and wrap itself around it from the shoulder to the fingers. It would squeeze Kenjin's arm with immense pressure. Kenjin would reach out with his left arm and grab the sword. Bracing for an immense wave of pressure Kenjin would close his eyes but nothing happens no intense wave of pressure runs through Kenjin's body.

"D-did I finally do it? did I find my weapon? This must be it! Now I just need to find my way back." He would shout smiling.

Kenjin would walk back to the edge of the open area staring into the darkness of the forest.

"It's time to go home." He would say as he let out a sigh of relief. He would begin walking back through the darkness. Eventually, the light from the open area would start to fade away as the moon is covered by the trees, removing the only remaining bit of light left and sinking Kenjin back into pure darkness. Suddenly it would start to rain, Kenjin could hear raindrops and feel them on his skin as they mixed with his blood from the cuts. He would start to get colder.
