Yuan Min's threat

Wang Shu and Wang Liu stood by the side, surprised by Lan Du's harsh words, after all, the words didn't seem to match the face she wore.

"I-" Yuan Min wanted to speak, but Lan Du walked over to him and stood in front of him, when their eyes met, he choked on his words.

Lan Du then lifted a photo, it was that of Yuan Cai sleeping, she took this photo when he almost drowned in her training and decided to use this. When Yuan Min and the two beside him saw Yuan Cai's pale face, their pupils shrunk.

"I warned you over the phone, I have eyes on your son twenty-four seven, where he goes, when he eats, I know it all" She wore a twisted smile as she glanced at Wang Shu and Wang Liu.

"Oh? If it isn't the two captains, how's your day? Did you like the poisoned needles? Tell me, should I increase it's lethality next time or add more side effects?" Lan Du rubbed in with a face full of mockery.

"You! If not for Colonel being your father, I'd have-"

"Have what? if not for you shameless brats standing in the hospital all day, did you think I'd do that? Next time you complain, I'll find your parent's grave and dig it out, let's see how you react" Lan Du sneered

Yuan Min gritted his teeth

"Enough! I'm your father, you can hate me but you cannot speak of such things about my subordinates!" He roared

Lan Du's dead eyes turned to him, they were filled with disdain.

"Disgusting, who was the one who prevented me from seeing my mother? Who was the one who caused my broken arms six years ago? Who was the one who left his damn family for someone else 18 years ago! Who was the one who barged into my house and threatened my friends!" Lan Du's voice began to rise, the more she spoke, the angrier she got.

She paused, she then took in a deep breath

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm usually much more composed than this, I'm only a little, absolutely livid with you being here" Lan Du scoffed coldly and glared at him.

Yuan Min's heart felt like it was stabbed over and over again, her every word shot him in a sore spot and caused him to feel regretful about his actions.

Lan Du suddenly smiled, she then began laughing

"My dear father, you've been wanting to know me for so long correct? Today, I'll tell you, my name is Lan Yu, Lan as in blue, and Yu as in rain, it fits, doesn't it? The rain pours, but disappears as fast as it comes" Lan Du had a cold smile on her face, how could Yuan Min not know what she means?

She meant that she can disappear on him whenever she wants, and she will never be able to find her if he crosses the line.

His hands clenched

"Yu'er" He spoke

Lan Du giggled but her eyes remained cold

"Speaking so affectionately, if others heard they, they might have though we had a great relationship, but alas, it's but a mere thought" Lan Du smirked and said coldly

Yuan Min felt his heart throb

"Why, why won't you give me a chance to repent?" He asked

Lan Du tapped her chin and began thinking, her eyes lit up after a moment before she replied.

"Because once you repent, I will probably kill myself, I've lived so long with you as my main target, think about it this way, the rain will always come, but once the sun shines upon it, it will gradually dissipate, to me, you repenting will mean my dissipation"

Her words shocked Yuan Min, even the two by his side were bewildered by the young lady's thought process. Why was her own opinion on her life so narrow?

"Then what would your mother think!" He roared

Lan Du's smile widened

"My mother will maybe hate you for life if I did so, but pity, she will be sad if I die, I'm selfish, but not to that degree, though I'd love to find a way to make her hate you without making her sad, that way, you'll be out of my life forever" Lan Du smiled sweetly as if everything she said was a joke.

Yuan Min's heart began pounding, sweat began rolling as he stared at his daughter

"Yu'er, please, don't do anything stupid, I love both you and your mother, don't do this to me" His voice was trembling but Lan Du's smile only widened.

"After so many years, this should be the first time you have seen my face, yet you make it sound so natural, I'm surprised, I always wondered where my shameless attitude came from, but I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" Lan Du giggled, but the three of them could feel a tint of mockery in her voice.

"That includes your son, he is also quite shameless, but he hides it" Lan Du licked the side of her lips

"But Cai'er is innocent, don't hurt him..." He muttered

Lan Du laughed even louder

"This is hilarious, you're still worried about him, but wanna know why I know him?" Lan Du lifted a brow and asked him.

Yuan Min nodded slowly, Wang Shu and Wang Liu remained silent but they also wanted to know how she got to find him so easily. After all, Yuan Min never made an official announcement about his son, only a few higher ups and some influential people know of his existence.

"Because..."

Lan Du placed a finger on her lips and a smile rose

"I have met someone, someone you know, someone who told me everything, as for who that someone is, you'll have to find out yourself, but before you make any rash guesses, I have connections on different planets as well, not limited to Earth" Lan Du giggled

Yuan Min's throat dried, he wanted to say something but he felt like he'd choke on them. Lan Du's hatred for him was out of his expectations, he never wanted this, he wanted to be together with her, with her mother, as one family!

Lan Du's smile was now sweet and cheeky

"But let me warn you, I'm a very greedy person, but so is my brother" Lan Du said faintly

Yuan Min slammed his feet

"You are both my children, I won't allow you to speak such about Cai'er" He roared

Lan Du smirked

"Yuan Cai? No, but this is no surprise, you never expected but, I-am-not-an-only-child-of-mother"

Her words struck Yuan Min like thunder, he ran over and grabbed her by her shoulders

"What do you mean! Who! Who's the father of your brother then!" He roared

But Lan Du's eyes grew cold as she placed one hand on Yuan Min's face and pushed him back.

"You, the man who left not only a daughter, but also a son, my twin brother" Lan Du said coldly, she wanted to slap him at that moment but she decided to hold it in.

Yuan Min's mind blanked, a son? Yes, he had one, but two? Where did the second son pop up from? A twin? That might be possible, but Lan Du was a girl.

"A fertilised egg can change, one being a boy whilst the other becoming a girl is completely normal, though it is rarer than than twins of the same gender" Lan Du spoke up and stepped back.

Yuan Min almost dropped to his knees at that moment

"I-I left not only you and your mother...but also a son...I'm a failure as a father" His eyes watered, but the tears didn't roll down his face. He held them in as he stared at Lan Du.

"Please, let me meet him, I want to meet my son" He said

Lan Du sneered

"He hates you as much as I do, when the time is right, you will know what we feel" Lan Du said coldly

Yuan Min's eyes became colder, but it wasn't directed at Lan Du, it was at the house behind him. He felt indignant, guilt and sorrow as his fists clenched tightly.

He stared at Lan Du once again

"What do I have to do so you will accept me" He asked

Lan Du shook her head

"You still don't get it, do you?" Lan Du wore a cold smile as she stared at her father

Yuan Min sighed

"I didn't want to do this" he muttered as his domain spread across the whole area, it covered even the house and streets around them.

"How much do you value your friends?" He asked suddenly

Now, it was Lan Du's turn to be shocked, she didn't expect Yuan Min to threaten her with her friends, but she tried her best to remain calm.

"Then what about your brat? My hand might suddenly shake and smack him to death when I meet him again" She replied

Yuan Min chuckled

"I know your character quite well over these years, you hold your friends close, Yuan Min is a nobody and cannot compare to your friends" He said calmly

"The same goes for you" Lan Du replied with a cold smile

Yuan Min's gaze sharpened as the house began shaking

"Stop!" Lan Du roared

Yuan Min didn't stop, the house continued to shake, and the windows began cracking, Lan Du knew what was going on, it wasn't the house shaking, it was the space itself.

"Yuan Min! You have already taken my mother's happiness, what more do you want!" Lan Du shouted

Yuan Min wore a saddened expression

"Yu'er, I'm doing this for you, you know this corrupted society is biased towards the male, a girl like you can get crushed without a support, I want to be your support, someone you can rely on" He said earnestly

Lan Du almost choked, she saw the house windows burst open, she was at her limit.

"Once! I'll be your daughter one time, is that enough!" She shouted, this was the most she could bear

Yuan Min didn't stop

"One year" He said lightly

Lan Du trembled

"You don't know what you're doing, inside the house is more than just my friends, it's the son of a planet lord" Lan Du shouted

Yuan Min paused

"As long as no one finds out, no one will know" He said calmly

Wang Shu and Wang Liu were both out of their mind, they have never seen Yuan Min act so childish, but they somewhat understood why. He has spent 6 years chasing after his daughter, now that he has finally met her face to face, he didn't want to let her go.

"One year" He said again

Lan Du trembled, she was even on the verge of tears

"Fine!" She shouted, Yuan Min stopped his actions and the house stopped.

Lan Du immediately ran into the house, the furniture were fine, but one of the three inside has collapsed and unconscious. Lan Du ran over and knelt down beside him. It was Xiao Bai, Sato and Phil bot had a relatively solid spiritual strength so they could resist, but Xiao Bai was a normal person, he was her manager.

The underworld managers don't usually have high spiritual strength as they deal with information and strategic matters.

"Xiao Bai!" Lan Du called out as she lifted him up.

"Who?" Phil and Sato were both shocked by this girl who barged in, she was beautiful and this was the first time they have met her.

Lan Du gritted her teeth and carried Xiao Bai to the couch and laid him down. His face was pale and his breathing was shallow.

'I lost sister Bei already, I won't lose you as well' She thought to herself

Yuan Min walked in with the Wang brothers, his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes sharpened as he watched his daughter take care of a boy.

Lan Du took out a small bottle and opened the lid, she then lifted Xiao Bai's head and fed him the content slowly.

"Spirit Dew" Both brothers gasped in shock when they sw what it was

"Using such an expensive thing for a normal person, such a waste" Wang Shu muttered

Lan Du glared at him

"Just tell me if you want to die, I'll give you a free ticket to meet king Yama, tell him you were sent by the same person who sent the last thousand people he met so far" Lan Du growled

Wang Shu didn't know why but he immediately shut his mouth, which surprised his brother. But they both stared at Lan Du in shock. They have only ever seen her playful and emotional side, but never such a cold and deathly look.

Yuan Min frowned

"Last thousand? How many did you kill" He asked

Lan Du paused

"Someone once asked the same question, my answer was simple, how many times did you breath?" Lan Du replied with the question.

Yuan Min froze

'Don't tell me she...'

"You work as an assassin?" He asked, the question shocked Wang Shu and Wang Liu

Lan Du sneered

"Don't wind me up with those useless dregs, they have only killed a few hundred at most and only ever target singular targets, I'm different, I kill group targets, if there are witnesses or guards, then my kill count goes up, simple as that" Lan Du didn't look back, she sat beside Xiao Bai and caressed his hair gently.

She wore a soft smile and patted his head

"What is he to you?" Yuan Min asked

Lan Du glared at him

"Someone you shouldn't have touched" Lan Du said coldly as she lifted his head up and placed his head on her lap.

She doesn't usually do this, but because Yuan Min was here, she wanted to annoy him as much as possible. If she can't threaten him, she'll use his fatherly instincts to bother him.

She rubbed his head and glanced at Phil and Sato.

"I'm a friend of Isaac, you can say I'm his sister" She said lightly

Sato and Phil nodded, they didn't trust her fully, but seeing her care for Xiao Bai, they loosened up a bit. Yuan Min lifted his grow and stared at Lan Du.

"French?" He asked

"None of your business" Lan Du replied without hesitation

Soon, Xiao Bai's eyes opened up, he stared at the unfamiliar face, but his pupils soon shrunk

"Lan-"

Lan Du place a finger on his lips and nodded gently, Xiao Bai trembled and sat up shyly. In truth, she had told him not long about her gender, but when seeing it in person, he was still shy about it.

"Be a good boy and go back, this place isn't safe with that guy here" Her eyes turned to Yuan Min for a second before she turned back to Xiao Bai.

Xiao Bai wanted to say something but Lan Du patted his head and rubbed it gently, he got creeped out by her smile so he did as he was told.

"You two should go with him as well, Xiao Bai, take them to an apartment, use my card to rent it for them" Lan Du said sweetly.

Xiao Bai nodded and led the two out, now, it was only the four of them left in the house. Lan Du crossed her leg and leaned back on the couch as she stared at the three of them.

"Now, lets get to business, I agree to be your daughter for one year, but you cannot ask about my private ;ife, restrict my daily activities nor interfere with my acquaintances" Lan Du stated with a light smile.

Yuan Min frowned

"Then what difference does it make?" He asked

"The difference is that you'll here me call you daddy in a sweet manner, or if you want, I can call you disgsting scum of humanity who left her children and wife for his job" Lan Du said with a smile, but there was disgust embuded within that the three could clearly see.

"How dare you, Colonel Yuan is-" Wang Shu wanted to shout but Wang Liu covered his mouth and Yuan Min lifted one hand

"C-Can I hear you call me daddy?" He asked with eyes filled with expectations and excitement

Wang Shu's jaws almost dropped when he saw his leader say such a thing, is this still the cold hearted Colonel of war?

Lan Du took in a deep breath, she let out a bright and cheerful smile

"Daddy" She called out

Yuan Min's heart suddenly missed a beat, the cuteness from this scene almost made him jump in joy for his daughter. Even Wang Shu and Wang Liu were dazed by that adorable smile.

But then, they saw Lan Du run off to the bin and bent over, they then saw her start vomiting into the bin.  After a few moments, she stood up, wiped her mouth and rinsed the inside of her mouth.

"Sorry, just thinking back on what I did made me feel sick, I couldn't help but throw up" Lan Du muttered

'I don't know how, but she made such a simple and unfavourable deal shift in her favour, wasn't I suppose to feel happy about this? Why do I feel even more depressed about it?' Yuan Min thought to himself
