"Fight me!" he screamed at me while it looked like he could collapse from exhaustion at any moment. He was standing in the doorway of the dormitory pointing a wooden sword towards me. "Maybe you should rest first. You look exhausted" I said. "I don't need any rest! I'm the strongest person that exists!" he screamed and in a swift motion he ran towards me. However when he came close to me it felt like time slowed down and my body moved on its own. I dodged the attack and time went back to normal.

"What happened? I know my power lets me dodge attacks automatically but why did time slow down? Was it even my power that did that?" I thought for myself. Then he had run past me, he stopped quickly and said "I only lost because I wasn't at full strength" and then he fell unconscious and his sword disappeared into nothing. That was how I met my roommate Kenshi for the first time.

However because of what happened with his sword I was pretty sure that his superpower let him summon wooden swords. "I guess his power is an equipment type then" I thought and it took a few seconds for me to realize that I should check if he is okay. By that time, Eirian, who had been standing beside me the whole time, was already checking him. "Speed, can help me carry him to his bed?" asked Eirian while looking disappointed at Kenshi.

"Sure but is he okay?" I asked. "Well, he just needs some rest. It is common for him to train until he hits his limit" answered Eirian. "Okay but do you know why he trains so hard? That much training can't be healthy" I asked as I lifted Kenshi up from the floor. "I don't know but I have heard he used to live in Satofuru" she replied but after a short pause she continued talking "Sorry, you got amnesia so you might not know what happened to Satofuru". "I have heard what happened. The whole town got destroyed by a really strong demon" I answered.

"That's right. So I think he is training to be able to get revenge but you have to ask him yourself if you want to know the true reason. However when I asked him, he got angry and just said he had to get stronger" said Eiran. "Okay, I probably won't ask him because it sounds like he won't answer'' I replied as we had finally gotten to our room and laid him on his bed. "Anyways, how about we make some lunch? I'm starting to get hungry and Kenshi would probably want some food when he wakes up" said Eirian.

"Sure, we can look at what we can make" I answered but as we were looking through the kitchen, we didn't find much food. Because of that we went to the store to buy some groceries first. The store was an ordinary small store but at the entrance sat a hobo against the wall. "Oh no, he's here" said Eirian. "Do you know him" I asked. "No but he is known for being a pervert that likes to do stuff such as looking under skirts. However, for some reason the police have never been able to catch him" she explained.

"Okay, I'll stop him if he tries something" I said. The hobo looked towards Eirian and as we walked past him he looked disappointed and then asked "Miss, could I see your panties". "No!" Eirian yelled however that didn't stop him. The hobo jumped so his head came between Eirian legs and looked up into her skit. His face looked to be filled with hope at first but it quickly turned into sorrow. Tears ran down his face and he sobs for himself "Come on, why are you not working".

Eirian hurried away from the hobo and then I jumped on him to hold him down and angrily asked him "What are you doing?". "You are just a kid so I won't tell you" he answered and then he started to try to stand up but I was able to hold him down until he started to transform. His skin turned into scales and he became a lot stronger. He escaped and ran away. "Damn, he got away but I probably know now why the police have a problem catching him. His transformation makes him much stronger than a normal person" I thought.

We reported the incident to the police and then we went into the store, bought our groceries and returned to the dormitory. Eirian made some lunch for us and Kenshi woke up just before the food was done. Kenshi looked still tired but he ate his food quickly and then went back to our room without saying anything. "Sorry but he just doesn't want to say he is tired I think" said Eirian. 

We ate our lunches and then we heard a car stop outside the dormitory. The car was a police car and Keisatsu, a policeman that helped me a lot when I had lost my memories, walked out. "I have good news. We have finally found someone that recognized you" said Keisatsu. "Really?!" I asked excitedly."I will explain on the way so follow me" said Kensatsu. I went into the car and he started to drive out of town.

"The man that recognized you does originality comes from Satofuru, the neighboring town and used to have a candy store there. He said you used to come often to the store with what he assumed were your little sisters but the last time he saw you was about five years ago" said Keisatsu. "I have little sisters?" I asked. "I don’t know. The man said that you didn’t look like you were their brother but you seemed to be close like siblings so I personally think that they might have been your half or stepsister" said Keisatsu.

"But when was the last time the man saw my sisters?" asked Speed. "It was also at the same time but one thing the man said that didn’t add up was that you looked to be in your mid-teens and your sisters looked to be around ten years old, five years ago. That means that you should be in your early twenties but the medical test you did a few months ago to see how old you were said that you were in your mid to late teens" said Keisatsu

"So there seems to be a few years difference between the age you are and the age he thought you were. I have not gotten time yet to investigate if what the man said is true but it might be possible that someone has used their power to make you younger but that's just a theory" said Keisatsu."Okay" I said as I tried to remember anything from the candy store but failed. After driving for a while I see the road to Satofuru is blocked by barriers at a crossing.

"Why is the road blocked?" asked Speed. "You don’t know? I guess it is easier to explain when we get there" said Keisatsu. We drove to the left at the crossing and followed the road which slowly went upwards. "Before I explain, do you know what happened sixteen years ago?" asked Kensatsu. "Do you mean the Demon King’s castle raid?" said Speed. "Yeah, when two thousand of the world's strongest people attacked and killed the Demon King but only twenty one survived. It’s good that you know that. It makes it easier to explain what happened to Satofuru" said Keisatsu.

They stop the car at a graveyard which is on the highest point of the hill. "We have to walk a little bit to get around the forest" said Keisatsu. We had to travel only a few hundred meters but before we got around the forest, Keisatsu said "Around the corner, it used to be a popular view point of Satofuru but not anymore". Around the forest I saw a giant crater. "That used to be Satofuru" said Keisatsu, pointing to the crater.

"You know that they killed the Demon King but 5 years ago the then unknown child of the Demon King destroyed the whole town. It was probably because many of the survivors from the Demon King’s castle raid used to live here but the child hasn't done anything since then” said Keisatsu. "So the Demon King’s child destroyed my hometown" I said to myself. Because of what the child had done I thought I would feel hatred toward the child but I didn’t.

I was unsure what I felt at first but then I realized what I felt, love. The more I tried to hate the Demon King’s child, the more confused I got by the feeling of love and it got to the point that I started crying. At that moment I thought "What's wrong with me? How can I feel love for the demon that destroyed my hometown and is it related to my past?"
