Prologue

The hundred year warring states period saw an era of chaos and civil war in Nihon, the land of the rising sun. Countless lives were lost and rivers of blood shed as numerous clans fought for dominance. Emerging from the century of chaos was a period of peace which was defined by a rise in the economy, arts and culture as well as a steady population. In a bid to maintain peace as well as strengthen relations a number of clans began to reconcile with one another and form village alliances. One such alliance to arise was between the Kasai and Inazuma clans of the Fire and Lightning villages respectively.

The prince of the Inazuma clan at the time married the princess of the Kasai clan and they had two sons. Twenty five years later the oldest son, Kazuma who was twenty four succeeded his mother as daimyo of the Fire village upon her death. Kazuma’s own son Kazuo who was four by then would later grow up to resent his father who was always absent to give him the attention he so dearly desired. The Fire daimyo greatly excelled in his work as he led the village justly and was respected by the masses for his rationality and humility.

Noting his absence in his son’s life four years into his reign, Kazuma entrusted the prince with his royal samurai general Rohan who trained him. The samurai became like a role model and father figure to the young Inazuma. When he was now a teenager Kazuo began to act out with pranks within the royal palace in an effort to gain his father’s attention. He became infamously known as the purple haired brat. His escapades would range from the trifling to the more serious ones of which the latter ultimately resulted in him being banished from the Fire village…
