Chapter 21 The Minotaur

Minotaur didn't notice her right away, he was looking at the ax he left stuck in the ground. Walking slowly to get his weapon Minotaur looks around the forest to see if there are no enemies lurking around in the ambush.

 It was quiet, there was no one around. Only light rain was pouring down, making a pleasant sound. Beast walked to his ax, grabbed it by the handle, and looked at the entrance of his dungeon. The girl's heart was pounding so hard it was a miracle beast didn't hear it at that distance.

"Oh... my... god, he still doesn't see me..."

As Minotaur was about to pull out his weapon from the ground he noticed Suzuka sitting on a rock close to the entrance to his dungeon. Beast froze for a sec but without paying too much attention he pulled his ax and started to walk towards the entrance.

"He sees me... He sees me for sure now. It's okay, it's okay he's not hostile."

As the beast got closer, the girl's fear grow stronger, she pressed a palm against her chest to keep the heart from popping out of her chest. Minotaur comes close to the entrance, turned his head to the girl, and started to look at her. A few seconds later the beast said:

"Little human child... leave! Now!"

Girls' fear got overshadowed by the thought that the beast can talk language she can understand. And thinking beast can be reason with, started a conversation:

"Wait! Wait... Hello... Hi, my name is Suzuka, can... Can I ask you something?"

Minotaur slammed his axes to the ground and leaned toward the girl.

"Name is Bill... no questions! Leave this place! Now!"

Suzuka stood up on the rock she was sitting on and said, "Hello, Bill, nice to meet you, and please, Bill! I'm lost, hungry, and far from home, and my means of returning home are gone... please!? Help me. I won't ask much."

Minotaur got a little angry hearing Suzuka say that and with an angry tone told her back.

"Please? You say! Ahhgggrrr! The last humans who were here said similar things! Bill lets them in and Bill gets robbed! Grraahh!"

"But... but I'm just a little girl... lost in the dangerous forest... I am not a thief, Bill, please!"

Minotaur got mad and throw a fist at the rock close to the girl while shouting at her.

"AHHGRRR! Just a little girl you say!? Bill helped the old man and a kid! Got robbed, Graaahh! Little girl, big girl makes no difference to Bill! Begone!"

Suzuka jumped down on the ground, dropped to her knees, and asked Minotaur again.

 "Please, help me, I don't take much space... just land me a corner and I won't be any trouble. I was alone out there for 2 days maybe more, you're my last hope!"

Minotaur got mad at the girl because she was not leaving and started to shout even louder at her.

"You're just a layer! Like the others! The human little girl you pretend to be wouldn't last a few hours out there! Bill not stupid to fall for your lies, vile creature! Bill won't say it again! Leave now! Or you meet the same fate Orcs did!"

Suzuka stood up, looked at the beast, and asked him one last time, "Please Bill, I'll do anything, just tell me. I will do it... if I go back there, I may be as good as dead!"

Seeing that girl is not thinking of leaving, the beast finally snaps, he grabbed his huge axes, ripped them out of the ground, hit them into each other a few times, and lets out a loud shout.

"Then! Kill you myself! Aaaghhh!"

Without wasting any more time Minotaur landed his huge ax straight down on the girl's head but Suzuka dodged it to the side. The huge ax stuck in the ground from all the force beast put into that swing but the next ax followed right after the first missed. Suzuka jumped over the ax, tap it with her hand to fix her position in mid-air, and landed on all four a few meters back.

Minotaur attack was so fast that it took a few seconds but for Suzuka, it seemed a very slow attack and she dodged it very easily. All her senses were on edge, her body all warmed up, her heart rate was racing and muscle mass slowly started to increase as she was getting ready for a fight. But the girl got distracted for a second by the sound of small rocks falling down from a cliff down to the entrance of a dungeon.

Minotaur threw his ax at the girl while she was distracted but Suzuka noticed the ax coming her way from the corner of her eye.

She slammed one of her legs back for better standing and grabbed a flying ax. The force delivered by launched axe pushed her a few meters back but she stopped it. Seeing that Minotaur said, "See... no mare human could survive that! Let alone a little girl you clime to be! Your just a monster... like me! Just in a child form!"

Suzuka threw his ax on the ground.

"I am not a monster! I'm just a 15-year-old human girl... I can explain if we just talk... Please! Hear me out! We don't have to fight! Please stop!"

But Minotaur was a stubborn beast and couldn't care less about the girl's situation or what she got to say.

"No more talking... just killing. It's simple... it's you... or Bill... dies today."

"But why must we fight? If we could just talk this through."

"Monster killing another monster, that's all...Nothing new around here, little girl..."

"But I did nothing to you, I just..."

Beast didn't wait to hear what she has to say and resumed they're fighting. Minotaur charged at Suzuka leaving huge horseshoe marks imprinted deep into the ground. When he was close to her he leaned down and tried to stab her with his huge horns, but Suzuka reacted in time and jumped over his head. 

Minotaur was not stupid when it comes to fighting. He noticed that the girl is agile and saw that coming. When Suzuka was mid-air over his head, Minotaur, with a mighty stomp to the ground stopped his momentum and turned to the side, grabbing her by the leg.

"You might be a swift girl... but Bill no fool in fighting! Got you now."

"Ahh... wait, wait, wait, what are you going to do, let go of me! Put me down!"

"Don't worry... Bill will put you down!"

Right after these words, Minotaur lifts his arm up and with all his might slams Suzuka to the ground on her back knocking her deep into the dirt. Suzuka got knocked out for a sec by the force delivered. 

Minotaur walked to his ax, thinking he had killed her. He picked it up and, with a few strikes against another ax he was holding in the other hand, he cleared off all the dirt that was stuck on it.

The beast was calm after their little fight. After finishing cleaning his ax, he turned around to dispose of the girl's body. But when he turned around he saw Suzuka standing and looking at him with her red eyes glowing from under a shadow on her face. 

With a calm voice, he said to her, "See? Little girl... you proved me right again... you are just a monster like me. Not a little girl should I call you but a little monster would fit you better."

"You can call me whatever you want... just... stop fighting, please..."

"So, that's how you see it... seems like the little monster got the wrong idea. Bill not fighting you! Bill was trying to kill you... and you, prove it difficult for Bill!"

Hearing that Bill won't listen to what she asks him Suzuka gets filled with anger, and anger slowly turned to unyielding rage that she couldn't control anymore. Her body healed from just a second ago received damage, blood got filled with adrenaline bulging her muscles. Her bloodlust could be seen with a bare eye. 

Seeing Girl's change in mood Bill said to her, "So... This is who you really are... just another monster who covers behind human skin."

With an angry voice, Suzuka answers him, "Monster you say!? Fine! I'll be your monster if you insist so much, but just you know I don't plan to die here, not today! Just so you know... this monster you call... can't die until it gets revenge on her evildoers! So do your worst!"
