Chapter 23 Saving Bill

Without waiting for a reply she clenched her fist as hard as she can and crushed his armor into a ball of metal scrap splashing Goblinman gore all over the field while saying, "Don't bother answering, I can't speak your language anyway."

She turn around and walked up to the exhausted Minotaur.

"So big guy, what now? Do we continue our fight? Or call it even and we help each other?"

Minotaur tried to stand up but Goblinman got his legs good and he just sit down leaning on a close-by rock to support himself.

"Continue to fight? No... my time has come... Bill won't make it... keep this place if you want that much... don't care anymore."

"Hay! I don't need your stupid cave, I just wanted to feel safe for a day or two. I thought maybe monsters won't come after me if I stay close to such a mighty beast like you. And when you started to speak a language I can understand my tiny heart was filled with hope that maybe I can survive till the day I can see my parents again."

"By Goblins tail... little monster... talk too much. But still... you're a human after all."

"Now you tell me? Come on! Then stop calling me a monster."

"You used box power on Goblinman, which proved you are a human... But still, you are a monster, little girl..."

"Oh, you still insist I'm a monster, huh?! Then maybe if I save your life you think otherwise?"

"Bill doesn't see how you do that... but yeah... Bill will help the little monster."

"Uukuku! Don't call me a monster... or at least drop the 'little' part!"

When Suzuka finished talking she thought to herself.

"Okay, I say all that but what can I do? He slowly bleeding from all over these cuts. I could add some pressure to them, maybe the bleeding stops."

Done thinking she pressed her bloody palms against Minotaur wounds and some of her blood splashed on cuts. When her blood got on the wound it mixed with Minotaur blood and started to bubble like it was boiling. 

Feeling pain in his wound, Bill asked her, "What are you doing? Feels like you burning my wound?"

"Sorry about that, some of my blood got in there. I try to wipe it off."

When the girl wipe off the blood she saw that his wound isn't bleeding and was almost healed. Then she splashed a little bit of her blood on other wounds to see if it really her blood helped to heal Bill's wound. It was painful for Bill but yes it was her blood that helped his wounds to close up and heal faster.

"Okay! Somehow I manage to stop bleeding Bill!... Bill?... Bill?!"

But Bill just lay there without making a move or any noise. Suzuka grabs his arm and starts to shake him while shouting at him.

"No, no, no! Don't die on me now! Come on, say something! I finally had a chance to survive here and you had to go and die on me! Come on!"

"Shut up... let me sleep for a while."

"Oh, by Melvyn's beard, you alive!"

But Minotaur didn't answer, he just lay there on the ground while showering rain washed the blood off of his body. Suzuka looked at a dark sky filled with dark clouds and watched how lightning was blinking in the far distance. Rain only got stronger and stranger as time passed. The whole field was covered in dead bodies of Goblins, and blood on the ground started to pool in puddles. Suzuka stood up and went to get Goblinman swords he dropped while trying to run away. She picked them up and swung them a few times.

"Oh ho ho! These are nice swords... I should take them and put them to good use."

She hung them on her belt and looked at Bill laying in wet dirt. She walked to Bill and thought, "Aaah! I can't just leave him here, in this rain... face down on the ground. I probably should get him inside his dungeon. But he's so big... probably weights a ton. Still... need at least to try."

She grabbed one of Minotaur's arms and started to pull, but it didn't feel heavy for her, only her feet kept sinking into the ground. Took her good twenty minutes to get Bill inside the dungeon. But it was more like a cave than a dungeon, it was dark inside but with her powers received from the werewolf, she could see in the darkness, at least better than a normal human. After wandering deeper inside Bill's cave she noticed the place where he sleeps, it was a big pile of hay. She dragged him close to his bed and laid him there.

"Okay, that should do it... now, what do I do now? Oh, I know! I should get him something to eat."

She took one bucket that was close by and went outside. Rain was still going strong and didn't show any sight of ending, but the rain didn't bother her. In no time Suzuka got a full bucket of apples and went back inside but Bill was still sleeping deeply without showing any sign of waking up, any time soon.

"Looks like Bill won't be waking up any time soon, maybe I should dry my clothes while he's out cold? Probably should start a fire first then."

She gathered some rocks, sticks, and wood from all over the cave and started a campfire close to the entrance. Then undressed her leather armor and hung them on sticks close to the fire.

"I hope no more Goblins show up... would be embarrassing to fight naked. Good thing I can see almost everything that's going on, on the field from here."

Twenty minutes passed but no sign of attackers. Suzuka got bored of looking outside and started to eat. She went down to get some apples from the bucket she gathered for Bill and returned to the campfire. After eating a few of them she started to read Monsterpedia.

"Okay, let's see what we have in the plant's section... Poison vines? Well, that's an obvious name, gives away what it is... what next? Beast-eating plant... seen it, next... Devil's Snare... sounds interesting."

Devil's Snare is a common, aggressive, and poisonous plant, with a threat level of two stars. If injured by Devil's Snare you may experience seizures and hallucinations that will lead to death if the antidote is not administered within an hour. Big spiky bud mostly red in color its height can reach two meters. Can shoot its spikes as projectiles.

Without finishing reading about Devil's Snare Suzuka fell asleep.

The distant familiar sound of footsteps woke Suzuka up, she knew what it was even without looking. She remembers well that rough, uneven, violent sound of an animal running. Her fireplace was already burned out only a few cinders could be seen in the ashes. She was sitting in the dark still naked but if whoever coming finds her, she won't have time to get dressed.

Rain hasn't stopped pouring down as if it's not enough already. Gore of Orcs and Goblins painted the field in red. The stench of their blood and guts started to attract wild beasts from the depths of the forest. Hard, splashing footsteps got closer and closer with each passing second. With each of her heartbeat enemy was closing on her location.

"Oh, come on... Damn, bloody wolf, again? Just how many of them are there in these woods? And I just had to fall asleep, now I have to fight them naked. I doubt they just gonna be so nice and wait till I get dressed."

Suddenly, out of the forest, rushed out 3 Bloody wolfs. They didn't seem to get along too well, biting and growling at each other they started to run around dead Orc bodies. It was the second time she felt lucky since the kidnapping happened. Bloody wolfs didn't see or caught her scent yet and she has time to hide inside the cave.

"Oh, thank you, all mighty Melwyn, stupid wolfs didn't see me. Now I can sneak deeper into Bill's cave to hide while they feast on Orc's meat. Just gonna grab my stuff and go."

Without any delay, she grabbed her leather armor with the rest of her gear and went down to where Bill was sleeping on his hay bed. Bill was still unconscious from all the blood loss and exhaustion he suffer in the battle against Goblin forces. Suzuka didn't waste time and put her gear on, it suffered some minor damage from a fight with Bill but is still in good shape to use.

"Okay! All set... little bit banged up but it's better than going around naked, this leather sure is fine. After that much abuse, it still holding in one piece... let's see... few metal plates missing, and a couple of rips here and there."

"Too bad I couldn't find any of my throwing knives, they would be nice to carry around. I guess if it comes to fighting I just try out that Gobliman's short swords or just flatten them to the ground with my gravity magic power."

A good 10 minutes have passed since she checked what was happening outside, all that time it was quiet, too quiet and that made a girl a bit anxious. With such wild beasts outside feasting on fresh meat, it should be loud noises coming from outside. Suddenly a loud shout from behind scared her senseless.

"WOAH!"

Suzuka jumped a few feets in the air from a sudden scare and turned around. It was just Bill shouting in his sleep.

"By Melwyn's beard, Bill! What the..."

But before she could finish saying that, noise come from outside. Fearing being ambushed inside the cave Suzuka decided to go outside to check who was making that noise, it didn't sound like a wolf made that sound.

"Well, here I go... hope they left already... they should call them glutton pigs and not Bloody wolfs. I wonder what was that noise, sounded like someone was whistling."

It was really quiet outside only the gentle sound of rain splashing against the rocks could be heard. But the girl didn't drop her guard down just because it was quiet outside she pulled both shortswords from holders on her hips and raised them up in front of her cheeks, ready to guard for attack. 

After a few more steps she could see outside, but there was no one around. After a few more steps closer to the exit she scanned the distance as far as she could see and saw nothing only mutilated Orc and Goblin bodies. 

Finally, she stepped outside and she heard growling on her right. It stopped her dead cold in her tracks as she knew there was a wolf waiting for her. She forgot to check her corners before stepping out of the cave and yet again this world reminded her how unforgiving it might be sometimes.

"Well, shit..."

Beast launched himself at the girl trying to bite her arm off without giving her any time to react, but Suzuka with a quick shift of a blade in her hand countered the beast's attack.

 She pierced his throat all the way through his skull making her shortsword tip come out right to betwine beast's eyes. But she didn't expect the other 2 wolfs to appear, one come running at her from afar other one was behind her. 

Wolf behind her tried to jump on her but Suzuka disabled him with a frontflip back heel kick and killed the beast by throwing another short sword at him while still in the air. Shortsword pierced his skull killing the beast on the spot.

 The moment she landed on the ground she extended her arm in front and targeted the last Bloody wolf between her finger. After locking on her target she said her magic attack name.

"Gravity Grip!"

Seconds later, the beast's body started to get covered in a black thick aura. As she started to curl her fingers into a fist, the beast's body started to get crushed and before the beast got reduced to minced meat she said.

"Beast! Tell your bredren in hell that I'm sending my regards!"

After saying that she gripped her fist tight and the beast's body popped into a pile of gore. Even more dead bodies and piles of gore on the field.

"Now I see why Bill was moving dead bodies to the forest, they attract wild beasts like bees to honey. How am I gonna clean this mess... the sun is barely hanging in the sky, it's getting dark soon and I don't want to go deep into the forest when dark. Probably gonna move some of the Goblins or what's left of them and do the rest tomorrow. "
