Meeting (Flashback/Prolouge)

My name's Uchiyama Uchimura, and i just started 4th grade!

"Alright, everyone, it's time for introductions! Please come up to the front of the class when i call your name!"

"OKAAAY!!"

"Kazuo Kodaka." Isn't Kodaka the last name of that video game developer? "Miki Sakuranomiya." Oh, isn't Miki the girl who's older brother got into a fight? I wonder how he's doing.. "○○○○○○○ Li." Is that a boy or a girl..?  "Mifune Kaede." Mifune-chan is in my class again this year!! (〃´𓎟`〃)

"Ai Minori."

"Uh, here! I'm Ai Minori! I like reading and playing dress-up! I-it's nice to meet you guys!"

Her hair's so long, and her glasses look good in red. That girl...she's..

"SHE'S SO CUTE!!!"

Oh. Crap. I can feel everyone staring at me.

"Who's cute, Uchimura? Anyways, it's your turn to introduce yourself."

"I-I'm Uchiyama Uchimura..I like manga and anime and stuff..."

"Oh!" Everyone turns to look at the girl with the pretty hair. She's standing up out of her seat, for some reason. "i-it's nothing..." 

That person who looks like boy and a girl at the same time comes over to my seat during lunch. "Hey. Why'd you randomly scream 'SHE'S SO CUTE!' during introductions today?"

"Uh.."

"Not a talker? I get it. First days are always the worst. The crushing feeling when you're not put in the same class as your best friend is really the worst."

"I was trying to say that in my head! It just came out on accident!!"

"Oh. Were you talking about Minorin?"

"Mino...rin?"

"That's the girl you have a crush on, right? I saw you staring at her earlier."

"I wasn't...staring.. A-AND I DON'T HAVE A CRUSH ON HER!!" What's their deal..?!

"Anyway, I'm Li."

"Are you a boy or a girl?"

"...A girl."

"I don't care if you call me a he, though. I get it a lot."

"By the way, when the teacher said your name, I couldn't hear it, what's your FULL name?"

"Li."

"No, I mean- *sigh* Nevermind.." She's either really reclusive or her full name is literally just Li Li. Maybe..

"Hey! What are you guys talking about?"

"We were talking about how Pigtails over here thinks that you're the cutest girl she's ever see-"

"What are you talking about? Ahahahaha! We were talking about...um...what we're having for lunch!"

"Ooh, is that octopus sausages? Can I have one? I ate my lunch already, but I'm still kinda hungry.. I'll pay you back if you want money for it!"

"No, it's fine! Here!"

"Thanks!"

Ahm.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"I-I didn't mean to do that, I'm sorry! I'll get you some new chopsticks, okay?!"

"No, it's fine." I don't think she heard me say that, though, because she ran away to go somewhere.

"Are you just gonna say 'it's fine' to everything she asks? Man, you really do have a crush on her!"

"I DO NOT!!"

"Hey, you're funny. Wanna be frie...uh...what's your name again?"

"Uchiyama Uchimura!"

"Yeah, yeah, Unchimura, something like that."

"You're just teasing me at this point! Stop it!! I don't wanna be your friend anymore! Hmph!"

"If we're friends, I'll help you get close to Minorin."

"No."

At that moment, the girl with the pretty hair that Li calls 'Minorin' comes back. "I got..huff...you new chopsticks.. You're wearing pink so I just assumed it's your favorite color.."

"Wanna be friends?!"

"Huh? Oh, sure! I was going to ask you later anyways!"

"You...you were?"

Yeah! Both you and Li-san seem like nice people!"

"You don't have to be so formal. You can just call me Li-kun or something."

"I hope we can be good friends, everyone!"

"Y-YEAH!!"

A/N (well actually the one singular translation note)

"Yeah, yeah, Unchimura, something like that.": Li mistakes Uchimura for Unchimura. Unchi (うんち) basically means shit in Japanese. I apologize for the unfunny poop joke please don't stop reading-
