Chapter 110:

M1 Shadow

So What If I'm a Girl

His scream attracted not only Yuan Cai's attention, but also the Wang brothers who stayed outside the whole night. They all rushed into his room and saw the blood mess.

"W-What is this" Yuan Cai exclaimed in shock, he felt nauseous just by looking at the blood, he then saw his father holding a severed hand.

"Colonel, what happened, were you attacked?"

Yuan Min ignored all this

"Yu'er! Yu'er! I'm sorry!" He screamed as tears flowed down his face.

The three got the gist of the scene, Yuan Cai dropped to his knees and held himself.

Wang Shu and Wang Liu turned to look at the scene, there was blood all over the bed...and wall. It was words, written with blood.

'She is more extreme than we anticipated'

[The hand is my final gift to you, my father, how do you feel now? You have just forced your daughter to cut off her own hand, but this is good, the more regret you feel, the better, our deal is off, it is you who did this]

They shuddered at the words, it was written cleanly, meaning she was completely sane when she did it.

"Contact the main ship, we need to get Colonel and young master Cai to calm down, with the way their mental state is now, they must recuperate" Wang Liu said sternly

Wang Shu nodded his head. All they could hear was Yuan Min's hysteric screams and Yuan Cai's cries.

By now, Lan Du was long gone, she had Xiao Bai take her to a branch where she decided to slowly recover. Her left hand couldn't even hold a feather now, so she removed the weighted bracelet on her wrist in case it harms the recovery stage.

She then wrapped it up with bandages so it looks like she injured her hand.

She sat in an empty room, it had a single bed in the centre, a cupboard next to the head of the bed and a large screen at the front wall.

She wore a relieved look on her face as she laid back on the bed.

"I finally got rid of that bastard, I wanted to get rid of that deal on the first day, but it took a little longer than expected, though I'd say I got some gains" She chuckled as she held out three cards.

Each were cards from Colonel Tian, Di and Shui.

She then tossed the cards into a pile of clothes, she got up and slowly began changing. Her previous set was soaked in blood for when she cut off her own hand, the new set made her look like an overbearing officer, she took out a pair of black gloves and wore them.

"Two months, this injury is easily the most annoying one I've had yet, I want to see Hui Yue...but I need to wait for my hand to recover first, I can't let her worry" She muttered and stepped out the room.

Her very presence made the outside quiet, the hallway of doors to other rooms were initially filled with people talking, but with her presence, they immediately stopped.

A newcomer reached his head out and saw Lan Du's arrogant and cold expression

"Who's that? I haven't seen him before, to act so cocky in front of everyone, must be asking for a beating" He muttered

But immediately after, the person beside him smacked him across the face and bowed down.

"I'm sorry for my subordinate's loose mouth, I will teach him a lesson once we head back" He cried out, the people around shook their heads and sighed.

'To have such a stupid person as a subordinate, I wish you luck'

'To have angered the crazed fiend, not even the higher ups can stop her when he rampages'

But surprisingly, Lan Du acted as if she didn't hear it and walked past them. Seeing this, the crowd was deeply surprised, especially the man who bowed his head. But he was soon overwhelmed with happiness now that Lan Du had ignored them.

"W-What? Boss, why'd you bow to someone like him? He looks like a hairless brat" He spoke up again

"Shut up! If you want to die, go die by yourself! Don't drag me along with you" He smacked the person again and ran off.

The young man was confused, but when he looked around, he saw gazes filled with pity staring right at him as if he was going to die soon.

"What?" He still acted arrogant as he lifted his head up high and mighty

"A young calf truly does not fear a tiger, kid, if you act like that and live past this month in front of him, I'll call you dad" Someone laughed and walked off

"Pfft, this month? I'll be surprised if he survives this week" Someone else laughed

"Oh? Then let's cut it short, I'll make it now, but not only for him, but also the two that spoke" A cold voice rang from behind them.

When they turned their heads, they saw Lan Du smirking at them, her smile was brutal and her eyes filled with intent to kill.

"W-W-Wait! W-We're just talking, w-we d-didn't mean it!" The person who said a month shouted as he tried to run, but his found out his body wasn't moving.

"N-No!" The other one shouted, he looked down, and his legs had given out on themselves.

The young man however still acted tough, he glared at Lan Du and sneered

"We're inside the base right now, in fighting isn't allowed" He scoffed

Lan Du giggled

"Fighting is when two people exchange blows, so what I'm going to do cannot be counted as a fight, call it a massacre" Lan Du walked over slowly and grabbed his throat.

"Your boss was smart, he ran off before you angered me" Before the young man could say anything, he felt the grip on his throat release before a sharp object was stabbed into his stomach.

'Tch, using only my right hand is feeling annoying already' She reached out her hand and twisted the dagger around.

"Kuagh" The young man coughed as the pain struck him like thunder.

"Y-You can't k-kill me, t-this is against the-"

"I'm so very sorry, but my hand just slipped" Lan Du chuckled as the dagger dug in deeper.

She then released her hand and tossed him aside. Her eyes landed on the two who spoke up earlier. The two were now on the ground, they didn't know why, but their legs couldn't move at all.

Lan Du chuckled and wriggled her right hand

"How do you want to end up? A few broken limbs? Ripped out organs? Gaping holes left on your torsos or maybe many small wounds that causes immense bleeding?" Lan Du giggled to herself as she asked them.

The two clasped the floor and wanted to crawl away, as if it was their final hope.

Suddenly, they heard a phone ring, their eyes turned to Lan Du who answered the phone.

"An assignment? I just got to rest and you're already sending me out on another mission?" Lan Du groaned as she spoke.

"Fine fine, send over the details, but if it's beyond me, I'll refuse" Lan Du clicked her phone and grumbled as she walked off, completely forgetting the two who were on the ground.

As if they had just escaped death, a sense of relief washed over them like a river, they have never been happier in their entire lives.

"W-We survived"

"Q-Quick, take that kid to the medic! He's bleeding out!" They suddenly realised the newcomer who still had a dagger in his stomach.

Lan Du held her phone and called

"Xiao Bai, I will be gone for a while, the Underworld just assigned me with another mission, make sure Phil is satisfied and Sato learns the rules around here, he might be of use with that cunning head of his" Lan Du said and hung up without waiting for a reply.

Xiao Bai who was on the other side was speechless

"Straightforward as usual, guess he's over the whole father problem" He sighed and could only obey.

Lan Du then received a message

[Find out where the Xiong Corporation's main base is, the young master travels often so use him as your guide, he is quite perverted and will buy slaves on every planet he goes to, try and get into contact with him without revealing your identity, when you find the corporation's main base, you can either return immediately or find any other relevant information, any additional information will give you more rewards]

Lan Du clenched the phone

"These bastards, why don't you just bloody say you want me to become a slave, fine, I'll do it, only because the rewards are promising, a crystal forge rifle, and extra information will reward me with one time space items each" Lan Du mumbled, she rubbed her chin and closed her phone.

"Wait...which bloody planet is he even on right now?" She immediately took her phone back out and dialled in a number.

[Hello? Lan Du? Didn't I just give you a mission? Are you refusing it?]

Lan Du scoffed

"You didn't even bloody send me where he is, why would I know where that pig will be?" She refuted

[Ah, I see, I didn't expect you to accept since...well, you will need to become a slave to follow him]

"Shut up and speak properly, pause again and I'll start another rampage, I've done it once, a second time won't hurt, don't test my patience because I have none" Lan Du scowled and said

[Yes yes, Xiong Qian should be on Planet Xing Dian, but be careful, it isn't easy to mix in as a slave, we picked you because you have the best acting skills, but to get in without getting a seal placed on you, you must be careful]

Lan Du nodded her head

"Naturally, but if I find out that words of me doing this has spread, your office won't ever be safe again" Lan Du threatened and hung up on him.

She sighed and walked off, she walked out the narrow hallways and took a left, the people whom she passed would immediately shift to the sides, not daring to block her way.

She arrived outside a large door, the door was in a hexagonal shape and looked sturdier than even the surrounding walls.

Lan Du walked to the side where there is a scanner, she placed her hand on it and the door opened with a *beep*.

"Professor, get a ship ready for me, I'm going to planet Xing Dian" Lan Du called out

The inside of the room was a tidy lab, like a field, tables were paved out evenly and filled to the brim with objects such as test tubes and blueprints.

There were dozens of models of vehicles, both land and air based. However, at one corner of the room, the tidiness was nonexistence. There were books and paper thrown everywhere on the floor with dust over the table.

A person soon crawled out from behind the dusty tables, he yawned and scratched his head. His hair was a mess but he gave off a dignified aura.

"Xing Dian? Sure, but why Xing Dian of all places? That place is quite strange, they have explicite orders for status and people there are easily offended, a friend f mine was almost thrown into jail for looking at a woman there" He said casually, he showed some concern, but his expression said otherwise.

Lan Du waved her hand

"If not for the missions the organisation give me, I wouldn't want to leave at all, I just wanna sleep for the next few weeks, but the payoff is good so I took it" Lan Du replied

The man nodded

"Alright, but you need to be careful, I even heard that the Xiong young master is going there, he isn't a good person to be around, that tomboy crazy fiend" He mumbled and swiped the dust off the table.

He then pressed a button at the side and the table surface opened up, revealing a screen below it. The screan flashed and an image of a ship showed up.

"Which one do you want to use? M1 Shadow, LS2 Wing or the 91 Red bird" He swiped the screen and three ships showed up.

Lan DU leaned her head in and picked the M1 Shado without hesitation.

"I don't need a flashy ship, Shadow will work just fine" She said lightly

The man nodded and tapped it

"Alright, the ship s being prepared, go to the-" He turned his head and Lan Du was already gone

"That hasty brat, *sigh*, but he sure is energetic, really brings life to this lifeless organisation, before he came along, most the members exuded a deathly aura, rarely anyone spoke and even fights break out often, now, his presence becomes something that prevents fights and even makes things lively" He smiled and his body dropped back down to the ground.

His snores filled he room as the doors slowly closed.

Lan Du followed the hallway back, but instead of walking forward, she took a sharp left turn and walked down the endless looking hallway.

It wasn't after a good few minutes did she finally see the end, it was a door, much larger than the previous one. It was almost four metres tall and three metres wide.

She placed her hand on the scanner and walked in when the door opened up.

"Borrowing the M1 Shadow, get it ready" Lan Du said nonchalantly as she walked in, as she spoke, some turned to her, they wore a white cloak and their hands each held a small device.

One seemed hesitant before asking

"I-It's for a mission, right?" He asked

Lan Du waved her hand

"Why else? Did you think I'd borrow a ship for my own personal uses?" Lan Du replied with an arrogant look in her eyes.

"Well..." They sratched their heads

"Last time you borrowed one, you rammed it into your target's hideoute, although you completed your mission, the cost for the ship..."

Lan Du grumbled

"I repaid it, didn't I? Stop being held up by such a small thing, it'll be in one piece when you retreve it from the planet I'm going to" Lan Du said with an annoyed expression.

They all couldn't help but take a big gulp, her certainty only made them more uncertain.

"R-Retrieve? Y-You're not flying back with it?"

"Nah, blame the organisation, the mission made it impossible to come back with it, anyway, get it ready and set the coordinates" Lan Du took out a lollipop and plopped it in her mouth.

The crew sighed and could only obey, if it was for a mission, they can't reject it. But leaving it in the hands of Lan Du just made them very paranoid.

They then led Lan Du to an open space platform, it was circular and was dozens of metres in radius. At the centre was a black jet shaped ship. The front was pointed, there seems to be no windows and wheels. Rather, it was flat on the ground with a hatchet at the top.

The size of the ship was relatively small compared to the one Yuan Min lent her, but it was much more equiped on the inside.

Lan Du jumped to the top and opened the hatchet.

"Is the coordinates set for Xing Dian?" Lan Du looked back and asked

"Yes, but please don't crash it, shadow may seem small but it's one of the more expensive ones that-"

"Yes yes, enough chit chat, prepare me for take off" Lan Du didn't bother waiting for him to finish and jumped into the hatchet.

Feeling speechless, they did as they were told and headed back inside.

[Vicinity, clear]

[No disruptions]

[Power, stable]

[Communications, up]

[Internal structure, up to date]

[Prepared for take off]

Lan Du sat down in the pilot seat and a light smile crept to her face as she crossed her legs.

"Been a while" She muttered as the ship began trembling, the bottom of it soon began relaseing a strong pressure as it slowly began levitating.

Beneath the ship were four circular pads, each releasing a silent, but compressed pressure that gradually shot the ship upwards. Until it was dozens of feet up, Lan Du didn't touch the controls, the moment it reached a certain height however, Lan Du's smile widened as she pulled the panned in front of her upwards and the tip pointed into the sky.

The back burst out simiar pressure as the bottom and the speed suddenly accelerated in an instant.

'No wonder it's called shadow, inside darkness, it is undetectable, no sound, no visiblity, it'd be perfect if it had a sturdier outer layer'

After a few minutes, the thrill from the take off disappeared along with her break through of the atmosphere. She then clicked a button and music started plating in the background.

"Boredom is truly a scary thing, I'm glad this ship had music function" Lan Du muttered, the song was fast paced and catchy, her finger tapped along with the beat and she clicked another button before taking her hands off the control panel.

[Auto-pilot:on]

Lan Du stretched her arms and stood up

"Now, how should I get that brat to take me along...becoming an undercover slave is really unbecoming of me, if not for the fact that his family has high tracking systems around their ships at all time, I'd just follow them" Lan DU grumbled and crossed her arms.

"My hand hasn't healed yet so using force is just asking for death" Her feet began tapping in frustration as she scrambled her hair.

Her eyes dimmed

"Do I seriously need to follow the stupid plan? Dammit"
