The Hercules? Haywin thought, sensing the eerie atmosphere lurking in the air as The Nameless Man slowly reached for his pocket.

Haywin was simply at her wits’ end. Something felt extremely off about the person who had just arrived, and just hearing the name of this “Gigantic Robot” didn’t help to reassure her either. She was all alone against two strong individuals…

“What are you planning?” Haywin asked, her voice slightly trembling.

“What are we planning, you say...? We are planning peace, what more does a human truly wish for anything other than peace?” The Nameless Man replied.

“What you are doing is certainly not peace! What is this Hercules thing you’re talking about? Are you planning to attack Helmvel?”

“………”

A sudden remembrance embraced Haywin’s mind. The time when she went on a mission to investigate the attack on Vedel’s Grand Library. The man she encountered who had exploded the library itself… there was a certain book that contained the secrets of creating Ha;VanAh, a skill that completely seals off the presence of any separate material.

“It was you, you sent those men to learn about Ha;VanAh. Am I right?” Haywin asked, her face laced with skepticism.

“You’re sharper than you look. What is your name?” The Nameless Man asked as he pointed his platinum-silver eagle gun towards Haywin.

“Why should I give my name to a man who doesn’t want to share his own?” Haywin calmly responded.

“A plan is indeed in the works. Everything must go fluently in the name of Aether’s Wrath. You, people of Helmvel, do not deserve anything. For the sins you people have caused.”

Haywin moved an inch of her muscle in the hopes of quickly grabbing her own gun, but this was more than enough for the Nameless Man to notice.

“Move another inch, and you’re dead.”

Tsk. He’s sharp…

It’s not looking good, he’s surely going to end up shooting me, that Serene girl is also firing up to attack me once again. I was being reckless…

Damnit! I have nowhere to go!

“Why so tense? At least be happy with the last few moments of your despicable life. You soldiers serving Mother are no more than mere ants, waiting to be crushed by Aether’s Wrath.”

“Don’t you dare… Badmouth Mother…” Haywin responded as she clenched her fist.

“Fabulous, standing firm against the face of Death? You’re not that much of a chicken than I thought.”

I have to do something… I can’t lose my temper by some mindless taunting. I should buy more time.

“I wonder why you haven’t shot me yet. I am in no way capable of saving myself, why hesitate?”

“Tell me, what led you to this place? Soldiers normally don’t come here.” The Nameless Man responded.

Come to think of it, how did they manage to enter this place so easily?

“Is that a question for you to ask? How were you people even able to-”

She didn’t get to finish her sentence.

It all happened in a second.

A loud bang Interrupted her, as The Nameless Man without hesitation shot Haywin, a clean connection to her left shoulder, making her fall onto her knee as the wound started to bleed out. Putting her fingers against the open wound, and feeling the warm blood flowing against her fingers.

“Nghhh-!”

“Don’t make me repeat myself. What led you to this place?”

“I… don’t have the need… to tell you…” Haywin replied.

BANG!

“ARGH!”

“That’s both of your shoulders now. We can make this as long as you want.”

“N- nghhh…”

“Feeling like telling me now?”

“S- shut u- up-”

BANG!

“NGAAH-!”

Another bullet was shot, right onto Haywin’s abdomen. The excruciating pain sent her mind afar, not being able to process everything happening.

The Nameless Man walked a few steps forward towards Haywin who was lying down in pain, stopping a few steps before her, going for the fatal shot.

“You don’t seem like you will be conversing with me any longer.”

“Nghhh-”

“She was looking for me. I led her to this place.”

This voice sounded similar.

Haywin turned her eyes, and indeed, it was the voice of the old Man Haywin was running after. The sole reason of her being here was because she was looking for him, and out of nowhere, he suddenly appeared. Walking outside of the path covered by shadows, his demeanor expressing seriousness as he inhaled his cigarette.

“And who might you be? How dare you interrupt my endeavour?” The Nameless Man queried.

"Janus is the name." The old Man responded.
