Chapter 21:

Chapter 21 Spell

Kobito no Otoko - Dwarf Man

The morning had been a complete disaster, Boss Cat and The Dogo fighting, the torrential rain pouring down, lashing against the metal walls of Koji's beloved vending machine. But as the day went on, the weather had finally cleared up, and a ray of sunshine peeked through the clouds.

Koji was relieved that the storm had passed. He decided to take a moment and make himself a soda. As he was sipping his drink, he heard the rumbling of a heavy truck pulling up outside. Koji recognized the sound right away, it was the maintenance crew responsible for conducting monthly inspections on vending machines.

His heart raced with anxiety, he knew they were headed toward the vending machines and his little home. Without wasting any time, Koji began to work his magic. He cast an illusion spell that would hide his vending machine from plain sight.

He knew he had to be quick, or they would seize his machine and take it to the junkyard. The sound of the truck grew louder, and Koji could see the headlights in the distance. His palms were sweating, and he could feel his heart pounding in his chest.

The sound of the truck pulling up jolted Koji out of his trance. He quickly assessed the situation and knew he had to act fast. With beads of sweat forming on his forehead, he began to chant the magic spell that would make his vending machine disappear. He could feel the energy draining out of him as he focused all his power on the spell.

Just as the maintenance guys got out of their truck, Koji completed the spell and the vending machine vanished. Koji was relieved to see that his plan had worked. But he knew he couldn't let his guard down just yet.

The maintenance guys began inspecting and refilling the vending machines nearby. Koji could feel his magic starting to fade as he struggled to maintain the spell. It was like trying to hold a bubble in the palm of his hand. His heart was pounding in his chest as the maintenance guys finished their work and got back in their truck.

Koji's vision was fading and he felt like he was about to pass out, but he refused to let go of the spell. He held on until the truck drove off into the distance. Finally, with a deep breath, Koji released the spell and his vending machine reappeared in its rightful place.

He collapsed on the floor, completely drained of energy but grateful to be safe. Koji knew that he couldn't let this happen again. He needed to come up with a better plan to keep himself and his vending machine out of harm's way. With his magic weakening over the years, he was worried that he won't be able to pull another complex spell like that. For the rest of the day, Koji was bedridden from magic exhaustion.
