Chapter 25:

Chapter 25 The Manager

Kobito no Otoko - Dwarf Man

As Ayumi slid the coin into the slot of the vending machine, Koji caught the coin. He tossed the coin into the air and it disappeared into thin air. Suddenly, the air around Koji's hand started to shimmer and warp, forming the shape of a letter.

Ayumi watched in amazement as Koji's hand closed around the letter, and he pulled it out of the air. The letter was made of shimmering gold and glimmered in the light of the vending machine's display.

Ayumi took the letter from Koji's vending machine, her hand trembled as she clutched the letter tightly. She couldn't help but feel a sense of hopelessness. Her manager had been harassing her for weeks now, making inappropriate advances and creating a hostile work environment. She had tried everything to make him stop, but nothing seemed to work.

Koji spoke with a somber tone, "Give this letter to your manager. But I must warn you, if that person is bad at heart, my letter will not work. But if he has still a shred of hope left in him, he should see reason and stop harassing you. I'm afraid that's the best I can do to help. My magic is weak, my powers are limited, I fear, but this is the best that I can offer in aiding you."

With a smile on her face, Ayumi turned to Koji and thanked him for his help. Koji smiled back at her, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. "My magic is weak," he told her. "I wish I could do more to help, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do." Ayumi nodded, understanding Koji's limitations.

After a few hours of friendly chat, they said goodbye to each other and Ayumi walked home. The next day she will deliver the letter to her manager and see what will happen. As she walked away, she couldn't shake the feeling that Koji had done something truly remarkable. His magic may have been weak, but his heart was full of kindness and hope.

The next day, Ayumi nervously handed the letter to her manager, who snatched it from her hand without a second glance. As he read the contents, Ayumi could see his expression change.

At first, he looked angry, but then his face softened and he let out a sigh. "Fine," he said, handing the letter back to Ayumi. "I'll stop bothering you. But don't think this changes anything. You're still on thin ice."

Ayumi thanked her manager and left the office feeling relieved, but also skeptical. Had Koji's letter really worked, or was it just a temporary solution? She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was still not right.

As the days passed, Ayumi noticed a significant change in her manager's behavior. He no longer made inappropriate comments or demanded that she work overtime without pay. In fact, he seemed almost afraid to speak to her at all.

Despite her initial doubts, Ayumi realized that Koji's letter had indeed worked. She couldn't explain how or why, but she knew that something had shifted in her manager's heart. She felt grateful to Koji for his help and wished she could thank him in person.
