Chapter 11:

Day-off slack.

Hang in There Mister Guard!

Despite Sunday being the busiest day of the week, Ryoichi has his day-off on that very day, and everybody has their theories on why that happens.

The first and most popular one is that given that he is the son of the security company’s boss, his parents allowed him to choose his day-off; the second one is that, given his attitude and behavior during his work, his parents decided that it would be better for the company to not have him working that day. Both theories have their respective followers, however, many of them believe it is a combination of both.

Today everything is going well, customers come and go, stores are having great sales and the crowds seem to be increasing by the hour. Almost every store is packed with a lot of customers and their employees barely have time to rest, that is how Sundays are.

An employee of a shoe shop has forgotten his lunch, so he is walking towards the food stands to grab something to eat. On his way there, he seemed to recognize someone, so he approached him and asked:

“Morita-san?”

The guy face towards him and replied:

“Good evening.”

“It really is you Morita-san, how strange to see you around here today, isn’t today your day-off?”

“Yes, that’s why I am not wearing my uniform.”

“Ah hahaha, you certainly are not, but I mean, why did you come here on your day-off, I mean, it is exhausting to be around here daily, why don’t you go somewhere else instead?”

“Because the game store here had a game I have been looking for a long time.” And as he spoke he raised his bag, showing that indeed he went to one of the game stores of the mall.

“Ah, so you were only here to buy a game?”

“Yes, and now I’m going home to play it. See you.”

“Eh?, Ah, yeah, see you.”

And so they parted ways, but before Ryoichi went home to play his game he stopped to appreciate some other goods in different stores, that is how this guy spends his days-off.
