Chapter 10:

#010 Me and the Wolf

Lucky Draw [100 word stories]

I flee from my fate with the beast on my heels.

It salivates at the sight of its promised meal.

My heart drums heavy as it snaps at my throat,

the rhythmic tandem of our feet cracking the crisp snow.

I make a break for the lake. The orchestra of the hunt swells to its crescendo.

But, while my characteristic crimson flutters after me, I make a fatal mistake.
A gasp. A groan. The deed was done.

My red seeped into the soil and our bodies became one.

That day -like tragic curtain draw- the moon blocked out the sun.
