The End

It is the end of the world, here we are huddled in the living room. Tears fall from my mother's eyes as the rain grows louder. Peeking from the curtains I find a girl crying alone. I invite her in to keep her last day from being lonesome. As the night's end draws near, I hug my mother and father while choking back tears. I don't say it enough, though these words flow so easily from you, it took the end of the world for me to finally tell you. I'm grateful for what you've done and for the life you gave me. I love you.
