Altair. Altair is a country in the continent of Hygeia. It sits at the base of the Alpine mountain range and experiences two types of climate. The northern part is within the temperate region while the southern part experiences tropical climate.
Together with two of its neighboring countries, Deneb and Vega, they form the “Three Great States”, former city-states of the fallen Union Empire which has relinquished from existence after the Great War that happened hundreds of years ago.
Himalia. It is the largest city and the capital of Altair. It is known as the global center of scientific research. It was a former independent city-state but was annexed by Altair after the Great War and made it the new capital after the destruction of the old one. Soon, a technocratic government was established by the following regime, headed by a council of wealthy technocrats. Years later, Himalia bloomed into a highly-developed city full of never-before-seen pieces of technology.
The city of Himalia consists of 17 districts:
District 0 - seat of government of the Altair, residential manor of the prime minister
District 1 - also known as the “Technocrat’s Hub”, home of Encrypt Laboratories main tower, Library of Himalia and Himalia Central Plaza
District 2 - Academic center of Himalia, home of Altair Academy
District 3 - Altair Academy Exclusive Zone, location of school dormitories
District 4-5 - commercial districts
District 6-8 - industrial districts
District 9 - military zone (restricted)
District 10-12 - suburbs (Elara, Ersa and Ananke)
District 13-16 - circumferential districts, gate points to the city
Encrypt Laboratories. It is actually not a single research institute but a conglomerate of several ones. It has seven branches scattered across the city and even has facilities in suburban districts. It is led by the Head Researcher Dr. Horace Perrin. The branch laboratory in Ersa suburb (mentioned in Chapter 1) was managed by Dr. Alexander Blanchett.
Sophos Project. A technology still under development by Encrypt Laboratories. Sophos refers to a sophisticated AI program embedded in humanoid robots.
