Chapter 106:

Chapter 106 The Headmaster

Content of the Magic Box

As Suzuka searched for her lost coins, the weather took a turn for the worse, and nightfall descended upon her. Her heart sank as she realized that her precious coins were truly gone, lost in the darkness of the night. She trudged back to Mystic Oasis Inn with a heavy heart, the weight of her lost coins seeming to pull her down with each step. The once-beautiful night had turned into a gloomy, depressing evening.

Finally, Suzuka reached her room and entered with a deep sigh, feeling defeated and hopeless. The room was dimly lit, full of the sound of the rain pouring down outside. Suzuka's eyes settled on her bed, and she longed for the comfort of its embrace and the warmth of the hot springs that awaited her.

The next morning, Suzuka awoke to a scene that matched the despair she felt inside. The sky was shrouded in a thick blanket of ominous clouds, and the rain poured down in a relentless deluge, splattering against the window glass like tears. The howling wind rattled the windows and the thunder roared like an angry beast. The streets outside were deserted as if the entire world had abandoned her.

Suzuka struggled to leave her bed, the gloom and darkness of the outside world matching the bleakness of her mood. But she knew she had to face another day at university, even if it felt like an insurmountable challenge. With a heavy heart and a deep sense of foreboding, Suzuka forced herself to get ready for the day ahead.

She reluctantly donned her raincoat, the gloominess of the weather matching the bleakness of her mood. The streets were deserted and empty, void of any signs of life, and the dimly lit alleyways looked darker than ever. Thunder rumbled ominously, shaking the very foundations of the buildings around her, and lightning flashed across the sky in jagged, frightening patterns. The relentless rain pounded against her raincoat hood, creating a constant pattering sound that seemed to echo through the emptiness around her.

As she walked towards the university, Suzuka took in the dreary view around her. Despite the dismal atmosphere, she had always found solace in the rainy days. But even the familiar comfort of the rain couldn't alleviate the sense of foreboding that was beginning to take hold of her.

She walked slowly, allowing herself to fully experience the bleakness of the day. Occasionally, she stopped and leaned against the wall, taking in the rhythmic sound of the rain as it hit the pavement. But even these small moments of respite couldn't dispel the sense of dread that was beginning to consume her.

Despite her slow pace, Suzuka managed to reach the university on time for her class. As she sat down, she hoped to find some peace and forget about her troubles. However, her respite was short-lived as Professor Silva approached her and delivered some unsettling news. The headmaster was looking for her.

As they walked down the corridor, Silva couldn't resist taking a jab at Suzuka. "Ha! Finally, you've done it now, you scummy adventurer. You hurt the headmaster's son, I'm guessing you're as good as gone from this university or worse."

Suzuka's mood was already foul, and Silva's words only served to aggravate her. "Oh, shut up, you bitch. Go and kiss Sterling's ass," she retorted bitterly.

The weight of her lost coins and the impending trouble with the headmaster left Suzuka feeling defeated and hopeless. The rain continued to pour outside, matching the despair she felt inside.

Silva and Suzuka made their way to the headmaster's office, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls. The gloominess of the weather outside seemed to have permeated into the university, casting a somber atmosphere all around. As they approached the office, Suzuka's heart sank at the sight of Sterling, who was sitting in a chair, his face covered in a bandage and his arm in a sling. Suzuka knew that Sterling was a manipulative liar and she couldn't even imagine what lies he told this time.

The headmaster was sitting behind his imposing desk, his face grave and serious. As soon as Silva and Suzuka entered the room, Sterling began to wail and whine, putting on a convincing act of pain and suffering. Suzuka felt a surge of anger at the sight of him, but she knew she had to keep her cool and maintain her composure in front of the headmaster.

As soon as Sterling caught sight of Suzuka, he launched into a barrage of accusations and insults, his voice brimming with anger and vitriol. "Oh, dear father! Look at her! This shameless woman is the one who caused my injuries and those of my innocent companions. She's nothing more than a savage, an uncivilized adventurer! This isn't even the first time that she's raised her hand against us. In fact, she's been bullying poor Silvia. My friends and I had to stand up for her, and even then, she didn't hesitate to resort to violence like the wild beast she is. You can ask Professor Silva yourself, and she'll confirm everything I'm saying. This woman, Helen, isn't fit for our esteemed university! She's nothing but a scum!"

As he spoke, the air around them seemed to grow darker, the tension palpable. Suzuka's heart was cold as ice at the sight of Sterling's face contorted with rage and his finger pointed accusingly at her.

"Put that finger away or I will brake that too, you piece of shit," Suzuka said in low voice.

Sterling flinched and acted to be scared and threatened while shouting, "Father! Did you hear that? She was threatening me! I can't believe you have the nerve to show your face here after what you did! You're a violent, selfish, and cruel thing! How dare you hurt me and my friends! You have no right to be here, no right to study with us, no right to be a part of this community! You're a disgrace to the university and to humanity itself! You're nothing but a brute, a savage, a monster! You should be thrown in jail for what you've done! I hope you never find success or happiness in your life because you don't deserve it!" The rain poured down in sheets, and the wind howled, almost as if it was echoing Sterling's rage.

Suzuka tried to defend herself, but Sterling would not let her talk. His words were the only thing that echoed in the room. At this point, Suzuka couldn't care less if she gets kicked out of Magic Box University. She only wondered if anyone would even believe her side of the story, everyone see her as a violent, unstable individual.

The room felt suffocating and oppressive, with the only sounds being Sterling's angry tirade and the occasional rumble of thunder.

Sterling's verbal abuse continued, "I cannot believe you have the audacity to show your face in front of my father after what you have done! You have no respect for authority or the rules of this university. You act like some sort of savage, taking pleasure in hurting innocent people. Your behavior is unacceptable and I will not stand for it!"

Sterling paused for a second for his words to sink in then continued with even more spite, "You have caused nothing but trouble since you arrived here. You are a menace to society and a danger to everyone around you. You cannot be trusted and I will do everything in my power to make sure you are removed from this university for good."

Sterling was on the roll, he had full authority in the room. No one is stopping him now so he pushes his speech even further beyond, pouring every bit of his soul into his acting, "Your actions have consequences, Helen. You cannot go around hurting people without expecting to face the repercussions. You are lucky I haven't taken legal action against you yet. But mark my words, if you continue down this path, you will regret it."

He came up with more lies as he goes and without hesitations, he tells with great detail, "I have seen the way you treat people, especially Silvia. You bully and intimidate her, using your strength to overpower her. It's disgusting and it needs to stop. You are a coward who picks on those weaker than you. I will not tolerate this behavior any longer."

"You have no place in this university," Sterling continued, his voice dripping with venom. "You think you can just waltz in here and do whatever you want? You have no respect for the rules and no respect for your fellow students. You're a bully and a thug, nothing more."

Suzuka's eyes blazed with fury as she listened to Sterling's accusations. She couldn't believe the audacity of this man, who had clearly fabricated his story to make her look like a villain. She opened her mouth to respond, but Sterling cut her off once again.

Sterling continued, his face turning red with anger. "You are a menace to society, Helen! You have no respect for authority or tradition. You come into our university, disrupting everything with your reckless behavior and selfish desires. You don't care about anyone but yourself, and you will stop at nothing to get what you want, even if it means hurting innocent people like me and my friends!"

He took a step closer to Suzuka, his finger pointing accusingly at her. "You think you're so superior, with your fancy magic and your arrogant attitude. But let me tell you something, Helen, you're nothing but a common thug, a criminal who belongs behind bars. You're a disgrace to our university. I demand that you be expelled immediately before you cause any more harm!"

Right after Sterling was done talking, the Headmaster of the university asked in a stern tone, "Is that all you have to say, son? Or is there anything else you forgot to tell?" Sterling looked at his father with a hint of respect in his eyes and replied, "No, dear father, that would be all."

After Sterling finished his story, the headmaster turned his attention towards Professor Silva, looking for her opinion on the matter. However, before she could respond, Suzuka spoke up, her voice ringing out clearly in the tense room. "Hey! Won't I get to say something about it?" she demanded, her eyes flashing with anger and frustration.

The headmaster's gaze turned towards Suzuka, and his expression grew harsh as he spoke. "I don't need to hear any excuses from you, Helen, you don't need to say anything," he said coldly, his words cutting like a knife. "Please be quiet. I am talking with Professor Silva now."

The room fell silent, and Suzuka's heart sank as she realized that the headmaster was not interested in hearing her side of the story. She bit her lip, feeling a sense of injustice burning deep inside her. Sterling, however, wore a smug grin on his face, clearly pleased with the way his father had shut Suzuka down.
