The Unusual meeting (II)

I woke up in the evening, after having slept for more than three hours. I washed my face and came to the kitchen to drink some water. I grabbed a cold drink and headed back to my room to play games. 

"Shiba, are you awake?" It was my mom.

"Yes mom. You need something?" I replied from my chair while sipping the cold drink, waiting for my PC to turn on.

"Nah it's nothing. I just need to go to the market to buy groceries. Take care and lock the door."

"I will." 

With those words, she left. I reached to the exit and locked the door from inside. And then came back to my room. My PC was on. I immediately opened the online game that I've been playing for months! But as soon as the black loading screen appeared, I saw a reflection in the screen. Someone was standing behind me! It was a girl, but I couldn't see her face clearly. I was so scared at the moment that I didn't look back. But wait...I know her! She's the same girl I saw today in the school! I immediately calmed myself and looked back, but to my shock, I couldn't see anything. I got up from my chair, searched everywhere around my room but didn't find her. I then went outside my room and searched if everything was alright! I didn't find her anywhere in my home, moreover, the main door was locked too! 

"Again hallucinations huh?!" I thought. I couldn't understand what the heck was going on with me. I simply decided to forget everything and decided to chill myself by playing the game. 

I reached my room, the game screen was on. I marked my steps towards my chair. W...Wait! Someone's here. Someone's is sitting on my chair. I was getting chills down my spine and was sweating more. 

*inhale*...*exhale*...I tried calming myself. I reached to the chair and IT WAS THE SAME GIRL! 

"Wh...Who are you!?" I gathered my courage and screamed. She turned the chair back and said;

"So, you can see me, right?" 

"Of course I can! Just answer me. Who are you and how did you come here?"

"Calm down, you don't have to get scared."

"I'm not!"

"I see. Well, I'm a spirit and I am..."

"A what?" I thought I misheard her.

"A spirit" She answered. It was an awkward moment. I didn't know how to respond, what to respond. I simply shut myself and waited her to speak.

"Look, you need to hear me out without getting any scared, I won't harm you I promise that. I'm a spirit and I need some help. I was sent to this world to find someone who could be able to help us." 

"What do you mean? I'm not able to understand anything. And besides that, I don't believe in spirits or ghosts!" I claimed. 

"Well so you want proof?" 

I nodded to yes. She immediately vanished! Right before my eyes! I was deeply shocked and couldn't believe in what I just experienced. 

"You believe in me now?"

My room echoed with her voice. I was so damn confused and scared that I started sweating more. I couldn't move. My body felt numb for that moment. And suddenly, the window opened on its own and a cool breeze flew right after me. It felt like the temperature dropped by some ten degree or so. And then, someone touched me from the back.

"H...Hold on...I believe in ghosts and spirits. I BELIEVE IN THEM!"

"Hehe...Feels like I went too far but I'm glad that now you are serious! So just calm yourself, no need to panic, I won't harm you, I'm a good spirit you know!" She said while making cute faces and my heart moved a bit!

I took my time to calm myself. Various questions were flowing in my mind that I wanted to get answered. 

"By the way, what's this game that you were playing?" That girl, or rather spirit, asked.

"Umm, it's an online battle royale game"

"Battle huh!" She felt excited!

She was staring at my computer screen. I noticed, when I first saw her in the school, I felt like she's just a lonely girl who probably has the same problem like me, not able to hold conversations. But I was wrong, she's totally different. All of a sudden, she looked at me, smiled, and asked;

"You okay now?" Gosh, she really was cute. Or maybe it's just that I don't talk much with anyone, most accurately with females, I was kinda elated?!

"Y...Yeah, I'm fine. So tell me, how did you find my home and more importantly, what were you doing in the school?"

"Well like I said, I'm a spirit, coming from another worldline and only some 'selected' humans can see me. My brother sent me to your school as it was told that I would find someone worthy of asking for help and only that guy could see me. Turns out it was you. I was waiting for someone like you for 3 days but wasn't able to find you. But luckily on that holiday, you came by yourself. I realized that you could see so I decided to follow you. I've a special ability that I can hide in someone's shadow!..."

"So that's how you reached to me!" 

"Yeah!"

"I'm still confused. What's this 'another worldline' thing that you mentioned about?" 

"I live in a place, far away from this world, we call it 'spirit land'. It's a land where spirits reside. We spirits can travel through the human world, but no human can visit spirit land on its own."

Still confused, why this girl was here? What kind of 'help' does she want from a human like me, even though she just said that no human can reach there! I was so annoyed. But suddenly, the door bell rang. 

"You need to get outta here! It must be my mom." I explained to her.

"No worries. She won't be able to see or hear me. Suit yourself."

Ughh...I didn't mind her and went to open the door. I was right, it was my mom. 

"What took you so long?" She asked.

"Uhh I was just playing games, sorry mom!"

"No problem, I've brought the groceries. I'm going to take a bath and then prepare the dinner."

"Yeah sure!" 

I then came to my room and she was there, sitting on the floor, waiting for me. 

"So, what is it that you want from me? I hope it won't be much of a hassle."

"We spirits need your help to save out town. Our spirit land was peaceful and harmonious back few days ago, but last week, a powerful unknown evil force began to threaten our spirit's existence. We spirits tried out best but we couldn't fight the evil power because we don't exactly know our enemy and it's beyond their realm. Our elders suggested us to take help from humans as they might be helpful coz most of the spirits of our land can't harm any human."

"Hold on...How could I help you, moreover, I don't even know a thing about this 'spirit land' and there's no reason for me to help you guys! What if I get destroyed completely in your world!?" I hesitated completely. It sure was a hassle task. 

"Please, you need to understand that the evil power is destroying everything in its path, and it is only a matter of time before her town would be destroyed. They also heard from the skies that once the spirit land would be destroyed, they will take control in the human world. They are looking for some tool which can change the outcomes of any event! It's said that that thing is located in a place where both, human world and the spirit world coincides. No one knows such place, if the evil power somehow get to know about this powerful tool, havoc will be emerged!" 

She pleaded and promised to guide me through the journey. Her earnest pleas and the sincerity in her voice made me think again. Also, since my vacation has started, I decided to help her!
