Chapter 5:
Fangs and Facades
Yuna didn't say another word, instead, she changed the subject. "So, where does class start today? "Class starts in 15 minutes, actually. Let's hurry and get ready." Mika said, standing. Together, they rushed to their room. After brushing their teeth, combing their hair, and changing into new outfits, the twins met downstairs. On the TV, there was a news report. A reporter spoke solemnly into the camera. "... the murders continue unabated; police are baffled by these crimes. Many believe it must be some sort of ritualistic murder since the victims seem to be drained of blood, and their internal organs eaten. "The twins watched intently as the scene shifted to a group of detectives discussing the case among themselves. One detective raised his voice. "This is beyond anything we've ever seen before! It seems like someone is trying to make a statement." Another officer agreed. "What kind of statement could a murderer possibly want to send?" a third member of the team pondered aloud.
"Enough of this. Let’s head to class." Mika interrupted abruptly. The two hurried out the door and made it just in time for first period.
