Chapter 6:

A talk with the man who calls themselves "Sage"

Mirhavel, nui vis Mairhom'ein

"Hello there, Reader—" Said the old man with a smile sitting infront of you— "Care to have tea before you continue on your way?" He added as he picked up a tray near the windowsill and placed it infront of you.

"Take a seat wherever you would like." He gestured
"I assure you no harm, let's just have a little talk. I'll tell you about our world, you do so aswell with yours. That is if you want to divulge an old scholars curious musings."

The old man across you continued as he placed a porcelain cup and poured tea into it. "Apologies for it being the regular bland tea most would associate, I did not expect a visitor." He bowed his head and waved his hand.

"Had I anticipated it, A rare visitor like you. I would have prepared Antiacasiea with Nouscia Tea, but alas— she, the Witch of Phanactis— would not allow her dear children to be brewed like some kind of dish."

"Enough of my idle ramblings, I was supposed to teach to a little about this world of ours and that I will." The old man stood up and walked behind you, towards a towering bookshelf. Sliding his hands on the hard leather covers of the books.

The old man whispered. "Children of Memories— Klitrae— I request help, Please call for Vamhelaphron and tell them to come to the reception room."

"Klitrae? What are those? Is the old man deranged? Speaking to books and caressing them as if they were alive!" You dove and mused yourself in self thought while sparingly drinking the tea that the old man has prepared for you, not noticing that the old man has returned to his seat with a book with pages fluttering wildly in his offhand.

"Now, now. Vamhel, we have a visitor. So I'd like you to behave for a little bit longer than usual." The old man scolded the fluttering book. "Now, Reader. This is Vamhelaphron, The Book of Records. The youngest of the Jequt'ns." The old man said as he handed you a large reddish book."

"This young one has records of the world, They'll help convert some knowledge of ours into knowledge that you ought to be able to understand." He added as he sipped the cup of tea and looks at the nearby wall where a clock stood affixed into it. "it's already the 6th noon's bell, so I won't be able to talk with you much longer that what I initially wanted, but it was more than well enough to have had tea with you. Take care of Vamhelaphron for me."

The old man stood up, took the teacups and pot and placed them into the tray they were originally placed into, cleaned the table and walked towards you.

"You won't have time much longer, so I'll have to make this brief." He bowed. "I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself, I am the Sage of Ashtærna, He who writes records and watches them unfold." The Sage added with a smile of self-derision plastered atop his face as he looked up to you.

"Well then, Reader. I hope the next time we meet, You have quite the bit of knowledge of this world of ours. And maybe next time, You can talk to me about yours."

"This is a temporary farewell. Let us meet again. Reader." He said as he tapped the cane he was holding on to squarely in the middle your forehead.
