Ambushed

“What the heck? Mike??” a raccoon looking demon softly asked, cocking an eyebrow while looking at the victim on the ground. 
     The one that talked was one of the four demon beasts — now three — who attacked the two adventurers in the dead of night and was the strongest among the bunch. Still, he couldn’t understand what just happened. One second he was minding his own business, getting ready to share a meal, and a second later his battle buddy permanently disappeared; Plus now his food is all soiled.

John Freedom, a Master Sergeant-class demon, possessed extremely defined muscular features — even though he’s not a full adult yet which was incredibly special for one of his kind. Having achieved the black belt level in all the martial art schools back in his village, he was an unstoppable force of nature and a true mixed martial artist.
     Though, instead of wearing the belt as to where it was supposed to go, J. Freedom donned it around his skull for maximum dapper effects — for the girls of course. But since he was always on missions, the only ones he impressed were the men under his squad.

With him as the big boss, the other two of the team were : an experienced money-hungry ranger with an eye for tracking any prey and an even sharper eye for profit; and a deadbeat father who tagged along to avoid paying tax this season — a universal problem. 
     And together they formed the Freedom Task Force — minus 1. A unit formed to hunt down a monster who terrorized their race.

Sensing no real danger from the adventurers — only the stench of urine, feces, and vomit — they braced themselves for combat against the unknown being lurking in the shadows. The ranger, however, fled the scene the moment Mike turned into splattered soup.
     Clearly, money couldn’t be made if he died, so running away was understandable. After all, no life equals to no money making opportunities.

As frustrated as John was with his eye for character, he had to stay focused on the fight ahead.
