Chapter 9:

Hacker Class

Alden quickly gathered his loot from the body of the wolf before deactivating his [PUPPETEER] skill because he didn't have the space in his inventory to carry his puppets around. After finishing up everything he needed to do, Alden was ready to leave. He walked through the forest, towards the entrance and he barely met any wolves on his way. The few he saw would retreat at the sight of him, that was probably because they understood his power after he had eliminated their leader.

Alden finally left the dungeon through the portal and when he appeared on the other side, he realized something. He was filthy. There was no way he could walk on the street with his now tattered clothes muddy and bloody.

"Luckily, I am a bit of a genius," Alden said to himself pulling his bag out of his inventory. He opened it and removed a new change of clothing, together with a 2L bottle of water. Half of the water he used to wash his face and hands and the other half he drank. After changing his clothing Alden used his dirty shirt to wipe the muck off of his shoes. After he was finally satisfied with the result, he tied his loose hair into a ponytail and decided it was time to move. Alden had tied his hair up at the beginning of the fight so he could battle better but at some point in the forest, Alden lost his hairband. Luckily he had a spare.

Alden left the deserted house and caught a taxi to town where he stayed. In South Africa, the most popular mode of transport was minibus taxis. There were taxi ranks set up which had hundreds of taxis, all taking people to and from places. Although the fares could be expensive, it was worth the cost as that particular mode of transport was fast and efficient and passengers were dropped off quite near to their place of residence, unlike a bus or train. Still, buses and trains were used a lot and they had their perks.

After reaching home Alden went straight to his room so he could check out his stats and his new skills. Alden showered and after he was all cleaned up and fresh, he lay on his bed.

Alden summoned the stats screen and took a look at it. Firstly he decided to distribute his points. After contemplating for a couple of seconds, Alden finally decided on how he would spend his points.

LEVEL: 6

AGILITY: 15

STRENGTH: 20

DURABILITY: 13

ENERGY: 35

STAMINA: 12

Alden decided to keep his energy stat as high as possible and to keep his strength and agility just high enough. Currently, with just his agility and strength, he would easily pass as an E-grade basic melee combatant. Melee combatants used their hands and fought and they had high physical stats such as stamina, agility, or strength. Durability was also included in it but it was mostly tanks who focused on durability as it increased the strength of your body. It therefore increased your defensive ability which meant that people with high durability stats could take more attacks than others.

As for his energy stats, Alden only had to focus on increasing that. With his energy stat, Alden felt he was at the top D-grade puppeteers but as a Ranger with all his stats combined. He was at C-grade.

Alden stopped focusing on his stats and focused on his skills. After observing the screen he saw a tiny question mark at the top right corner of each skill. After clicking on it, Alden realized he could find out information about his skills.

Alden clicked on [DECEIT] to find out more about the skill, and this was what he found:

[DECEIT (lv 1)- ALLOWS ONE TO MASK THEIR IDENTITY AS A LEGENDARY HACKER. ONE CAN HIDE AND CHANGE THEIR SKILLS SO OTHERS ARE DECEIVED.]

Alden realized that skill would be quite helpful as when he joined a party to go enter a dungeon, his teammates could see his stats and then they would have found out about his dual class. A person having a Dual-class was not very common and additionally, a person having a hacker class had never been heard of at all. It was, for this reason, Alden was worried about what would happen when he had to complete his monthly mission.

Alden moved on and checked out the information about [DUNGEON CAPTURE].

[DUNGEON CAPTURE (lv ?)-ALLOWS USER TO TAKE POSSESSION OF A CONQUERED DUNGEON AND TRANSFORM IT INTO HIS KINGDOM]

"No way," Alden mumbled." That's way too overpowered."

He wasn't disappointed about it though. He was quite pleased.
