Abbadon of the Abyss

The starry night sky filled the heavens above. Stars glowing from above as night began to devour the land. Under the surface of an unforgiving light of destruction, lies the hands of anyone who tries to conquer the abyss. Below the abyss marks the retaliation of the Heroes Party.

The scenery feels hellish, I dread in fear with my eyes dead open as my adrenaline wants to fight or run away. I held my ground gathering my courage and what was left of it.

I quickly picked up my western style sword.

“Don’t just stand there! Pick your weapons.”

“Who are you to tell us what to do?”

“What’re you going to do with that weak sword of yours? It doesn’t deal any damage to these monsters.”

“This is no time for quarrels, we are in a dire situation right now!”

“Acting all bossy isn’t it, Kazuki?”

“Who’s more useless here? Me or you? Can’t you see we are about to die and you only care about bullying the life of me.”

“Nakamura, Kazuki This is no time for arguing, Pick up your weapon and fall in.”

“I’m coming.”

I walked past them as I picked up my western styled sword and scutum shield.

With all of my strength I gathered up, my classmates flock from my side one by one. Daichi has no choice but to join Kazuki’s plan.

“So what’s the plan Kazuki?”

“Daichi-san?”

“Yeah you heard me right, we could use some help from our party but since you volunteered to share your plans.”

“Well I guess you’re right. High level monsters have surrounded us. Let's try prioritising our firepower as a party.”

“Vanguard based class will be on the front.”

“Mages, and Healers will be at the back, healers will be aiding the Vanguard while Mages will cast a protected barrier spell, form a force field protecting us from projectiles.”

“And lastly the plan to escape the Labyrinth once every monster is defeated, Mage classes must perform a ritual to create a teleportation spell all the way to the surface.”

“How is that for a plan?”

“Hmm… sounds good I guess.”

“Well, not bad for a Mercenary class I gave my praises to you!”

“Thank you, everyone.”

“Everyone! Let the battle commence!”

“WRAAGHHH!”

Everyone shouted a battle cry.

Kazuki's party fought stubbornly, they gained experience and items from these powerful monsters. His plan was a success killing a few monsters from left to right.

"That's all of them, right?"

"Yeah I guess so it seems these monsters aren't as powerful as they look."

"Quit messing around, we just got lucky today."

They rested for a bit checking their stats before searching for more loot from the 62nd Floor.

Until something shines underneath the ground. It wasn't just an ordinary beam of light, it was something unusual. They observed with curiosity and carelessly walked closer to the light. The beam of light was located at the centre of the Arena.

Without realising and curious about what's going on, the strange ground where the beam of light came from suddenly opened slowly. At the same moment a devastating earthquake rumbled the ground. Suddenly an entity appears from within a strange entity that has never been shown from the books inside the Palace Library or written records about this certain entity.

"Wh… what is that?"

"That's the floor boss of the 62nd floor."

"No doubt about it."

"It's pretty strange that most floor bosses are either strong or weak, based on what floor we are in."

The Entity was named Abbadon of the Abyss.

The Entity was riding a horse with a sword that is bigger than a tree. His name was Abbadon, one of the Demonic undead knights protecting the 62nd Labyrinth. He was wearing thick armour from head to bottom the skin was dark grey and had red crimson eyes.

Power: 450

Resistance: 350

Recovery: 64

Dexterity: 34

Everyone screamed in fear.

I looked in disbelief. I was shaking and my hands were filled with cold sweat and pale skin.

"Wh… Whhhhhh!"

"What is that thing!?"

"Is that the floor Guardian?"

"Ahhh! It looks scary."

"Chief, is there a way to defeat it?"

"No, there's no way we can defeat such a powerful floor Guardian."

"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE WHILE WE'RE STILL CAN!"

"We have to hold our ground until most of our members have fallen back."

"I want half of the Vanguard to be the rear guard, the rest of you get out, now!"

"Yes sir!"

I volunteered to act as rear guard, together with my other classmates.

"Kazuki you should've run, why did you bother coming back?"

"I am trying to help my party. Why don't you stop being a jerk."

"Fine then, if that's what you want."

"Akari, Aiya, Chizuku, I want all of you to go get out while you guys are still alive."

"But Kazuki-kun I can't leave you."

"You don't have to worry about me, I'll come back for you."

"You promise?

"Of course I promise."

After I said my goodbyes to Akari I turned around and grabbed my sword.

"Alright! Let the boss battle begin!"

“WRAAAAGHHHH!”

Kazuki’s rear guard charged head on.

Abbadon slashed his sword towards us.

"Incoming!"

He suddenly stops and dismounts from his horse.

The horse, which appears to be undead, disappears in the blink of an eye.

"He is challenging us to fight head on."

"Well if that's what he wants."

He slash his sword with brute force. I parried most of the damage.

But the impact didn't save me.

"Ahhh… it's heavy."

"Hey, Genji-san, I need help here."

"Okay, Take this."

Genji attacked from the rear. But it has no effect.

Abbadon turned and attacked Genji.

"Genji-san! LOOK OUT!"

"Arrrgghhh!"

Genji got hit and he's in bad shape.

"Ahh… damn it… I'm hit."

"Somebody get me out of here… please… help… me…"

Blood oozed out from his stomach.

"Ahh, fuck man ju- just hang in there we'll rescue you."

"Hey! Hey! Do you want to live!? Do you want to live!?"

"Then go and fight that hell of a beast out there until we get Genji out of here."

"Fine!"

"Carry him and take him somewhere safe."

Ichiro and the others carried Genji to the path where Daichi and the rest of the party went.

While they were taking him to where Daichi was heading. Kazuki and the 3 remaining students are still fighting the Floor Guardian.

Ravensfield Labyrinth.

13th Floor. (Safezone)

"I hope Kazuki and the rest of them are okay."

"Daichi-kun, are you sure they will make it out alive?"

"Hope so I don't want a classmate rotting here."

"Wait, who's that coming towards us?

"Look alert!"

Daichi and his party saw a humanoid shadow coming towards them.

"Is that… Kazuki?"

"No it's… it's Genji and Ichiro!"

"What…!?"

"And Genji is badly wounded!"

"Ichiro-san, what happened?"

Ichiro panting as he's gasping for air.

"Genji was hitted by that thing… whatever you called it."

"Oh my it's deep."

"No worries, I'll heal it for you.

"Heal!"

Genji's deep wound is healed and gives an expression of relief.

"Say, where's Kazuki and the others?"

"They're not returning yet."

"I think they're dead, there's no way they could handle that powerful thing alone."

"No… I know Kazuki will come back alive."

"He promised it to me."

Genji and Ichiro are exhausted after their long walk. Genji's wounds are healed.

"Ichiro, is Kazuki and the others still out there?"

"Yes, and they are dying. I don't think they'll last a minute."

"Should we go back?"

"We can't just go back, we'll probably die."

"No

Back to the Floor level 62nd.

Kazuki's situation has become dire, they're struggling to defeat the Floor Guardian.

Daichi and the rest of the party has given the choice either they will come back and save them or abandon them.
