Chapter 16:

False gate III

Hacker Class

A fist smashed into the face of the orc. The orc's face was crushed by the sheer force of power. Another orc skull was crushed, and then another and another. All this happened in a few seconds. Light McKing was a monster, and those who witnessed his power became even more sure of that. He easily decimated the powerful orcs without even breaking a sweat. It was clear that he didn't need the companions he had brought along with him. Maybe he had brought them just so they would be people present to witness his heroics. Light McKing would travel across the cave in an instantaneous burst of speed and before the orcs had even become aware of him, he would destroy them in a few attacks. And so, in a cave where reaching halfway through the dungeon would take at a minimum, half a day, Light reduced that time to a few hours. Light stopped fighting then under the excuse of "resting his muscles", Although everyone present knew that he was far from finished. He was just getting bored of smashing in the skulls of orcs. The rest of the party then got themselves into formation and began to fight, and that was where their struggle finally began. ~~~ Alden controlled his new puppet expertly, and he would use all of the puppets expertly to put down the orcs. The orcs were powerful creatures, but they were also stupid. They would swing their axes with all their strength trying to behead their opponent but they never bothered to think what would happen if the opponent avoided the attack. If the opponent did avoid the attack, the orc would leave a huge opening allowing its opponent to make use of that opportunity. In short, orcs fought with their body, but not their mind. Alden decided to use that to his advantage. He would allow the orc to make a wild swing at his puppet but when it missed his puppet would attack it, utilizing its swords or by using its energy blasts. Lily who was at the center of their formation, since she was a healer, watched Alden fight and she was no doubt awed by his expert handling of the puppet. Alden knew that being a puppeteer had its benefits, one could be F-rank and still be able to raise their strength to D or C rank by simply having a quality puppet and a high level of skill. The reason Alden handled his puppet so well was because he had at one instant controlled 3 puppets. His skill level had risen greatly after fighting in the secret dungeon mission and thus he seemed like an expert to others. Also, his energy was at 35, which was the level of D-grade puppeteers. "I'm out of gas," Alden announced to his team. He was careful not to fight too much and raise suspicion. Alden had a low stamina stat, which meant he could fight for very low periods. Stamina stat meant how long the body could fight without getting tired. It was often confused with durability but durability meant how much damage one's body could take when fighting. It was more of a defensive stat. Some people may have high stamina and low durability and that meant when they received attacks, their health would drop faster while a person with a high level of durability and a low level of stamina could tank more attacks but their health with drop faster since they'd get exhausted quickly. "It's okay! You fought well. Soon we will be able to rest! Just keep at the center of the formation." The leader said as he swung his shield at an orc in the front, killing it. The leader was a B-rank Ranger with much experience and everyone had grown used to calling him leader. He was pretty powerful and the C-ranked orcs were no match for him. Since these people were teammates of Alden, Alden could check their stats. Alden checked out the leader's stats and he was impressed. LEVEL: 4 AGILITY: 12 STRENGTH: 69 DURABILITY: 74 ENERGY: 7 STAMINA: 60 Alden realized just how strong the leader was. Most of the orcs could not even hope to match the level of the leader. Alden had to admit that if the leader was absent, all of them would have struggled to survive. Alden shot a gaze at Lily who was healing her brother, she was healing the guy who had a bit of facial hair on his chin, that brother was a striker, which meant that he would create energy blasts and shoot at the orcs. He was in D-class and he had much skill. From what Alden had heard, his name was Justin. Alden checked out Lily's stats beforehand and she was also pretty good. He was surprised at how weak he still was after seeing such impressive stats. She had: LEVEL: 1 AGILITY: 9 STRENGTH: 6 DURABILITY: 8 ENERGY: 55 STAMINA: 30 "We can rest now," The leader announced. The party had noticed something about the dungeon. The Orcs would arrive in separate groups and after the group would defeat a single group, they would have to wait more than half an hour before a new group of Orcs came. This way, they were all getting sufficient rest. As Alden lay back, hoping to rest himself so he'd be ready for the next attack, he heard somebody call to him. When he turned, he saw all 3 brothers surround him. "Hey," Lyle said good-heartedly. "We've got to talk." Alden sighed internally.
