Chapter 19:

Discussion

Bitter-Sweet

"How did it go?," asked Aroma, the girl with short light brown hair with 2 pink hair pins in them, pale skin, hazel eyes, and a pink necklace on her neck from her dad, that she always wore.

"It was fine. You know it's weird when your child is in jail," said Benny, the girl with long blonde hair that had two thin braids in the front and slight bangs. She had green eyes.

"How did they react? What did they say? Are they gonna go see her?!," Aroma asked.

"Weren't you sick? You look so full of energy," said Angelina, the short girl with short brown hair, which were darker at the ends, dark skin, and amber eyes.

"I'm fine. I was waiting for you guys for so long. You took forever to get home," she said, "Do you want coffee?."

"Man, I'm tired. Why do I have to spend my first Christmas away from home thinking about jail and drugs?," Angelina said, sipping her coffee.

"Well, stuff like this happens. You need to deal with it. We all do," Benny said.

She nodded, eyes heavy with sleep.

"Did you sleep last night?," Aroma asked Angelina.

"Yeah, but for only two hours. I dunno why I couldn't sleep. I'm gonna go to bed early today," she answered.

She yawned. Aroma laughed.

"What are you laughing at?," she asked.

"It's just the way you yawn. It's funny," she answered.

She rolled her eyes, and yawned again. She herself laughed now.

"Man, I really think my yawns are funny, too," she said laughing.

Benny smiled. She liked it that they were getting on well with each other.

The door opened and in came Tina. She looked weary. She yawned as she sat on the couch.

"I'm back. How did it go there?," she asked.

"It was fine. They reacted like any other confused family," Benny said.

"Did they say anything we can say to Kayla? Something, motivating or encouraging?," Tina asked.

"Yeah, her mom said something like that. I forgot what it was," Angelina said, "Plus, Benny the dumbass, was apologizing for no reason at all!."

"Apologizing? For what?," Aroma asked.

"She was like, I'm so sorry Mrs. Justin. Your daughter is in jail. It's all our fault," Angelina said, making weird faces.

"I didn't even say it's all our fault! You liar!," Benny said, laughing at Angelina's imitation of herself.

"God, she was so quiet. I had to do all the talking," she said, yawning once more.

"What did you find out, Tina? And where's Mr. Young?," Aroma asked.

"Oh, he dropped me off in his car and then he left to see Ryan. He told me he'd come to our house in the evening with Ryan to discuss what to do. He told me to not say anything until then," Tina answered.

"What?! We have to wait for that long?!," Angelina asked.

"Y-yeah, I'm sorry. But I'm pretty sure there's a good reason behind it, though. Until then, we can all relax," she answered.

"I'm sleeping. Wake me up when they're here," Angelina said and went to her room.

"So, you're saying we're gonna have to follow her?!," Tina asked Mr. Young, when he was at their house with Ryan.

"But, how can we go to another district? That too, during this Christmas time, when they're so many people everywhere," Benny asked.

"That's the best thing about it, miss Anson. There will be so many people everywhere, and it'll be easy for you lot to track her," Mr. Young said.

"But how would we know where is Black Monday's hideout?," Aroma asked.

"There's no hideout, miss Nash. Everyone knows it's Black Monday's warehouse and they avoid it because people value their lives over a gang," Mr. Young answered.

"So, people know that there's a gang as dangerous as them?!," she asked.

"Yes, they do, miss Nash. And trying to get someone who's joined the gang to leave, is just absolutely difficult," he answered.

"Isn't there a way to change her mind? I meant to say, can't we get her to stop?!," Benny asked.

"Miss Anson, drugs are dangerous. Aren't they?," Mr. Young asked.

Benny nodded.

"But, they're really lifelike to people who're struggling. That is why the drugs business is so massive," he said.

"The six districts are known for six different things, you know," Ryan interrupted.

"What?!," Tina asked, eyes wide.

"Yes, miss Thorne. He's right. The six districts represent the United States' current condition," Mr. Young said.

"What do you mean? What current condition?," Aroma asked.

"We live in district four, which is known for its drugs. District one is known for it's doctors. It has excellent doctors living there. District two is known for its security. The police there is active all the time, especially at night. District three is known for its chefs. It has young and old chefs from different countries living there and it has lots of different restaurants there, too. District five is known for its bars and nightclubs. There are so many of them there because the city which was known as Las Vegas is in that district, too. District six is known for its lavish houses and it's the only district which is on par with district four in terms of wealth. To live there, you've got to have a fat bank account," Mr. Young explained.

"So, you're saying that Alethea has enough money to go and live in district six?!," Angelina asked.

"Well, I don't know. But judging by how things are going, I've come to a conclusion that she was a member of Black Monday before she joined this house," he answered.

"Woah....but it's still not clear how she'll have enough money to move to district six. And even if it's just for tour, you'll need a lot of money to go to another district, especially when everything is a bit pricey than usual due to Christmas time," Benny said.

"That is why I'm saying that we should talk to miss Elle's family, miss Anson," he answered.

"Luke, I think that we shouldn't be doing that," Ryan said.

"What? Why?," Tina asked.

"Your housemate..it's just so uncomfortable how she's so reckless and is so mysterious. She...you said her sister lives in district six, right? I....I don't know. It won't be right to just tell her parents about this," Ryan said, hesitantly.

"Why, Ryan? Speak clearly," Mr. Young said.

"Luke, you remember John Mason?," Ryan asked.

"Yeah, I do. He's your Dad's friend. Why?," he answered.

"Actually, John is involved with Black Monday. But before him, his brother Paul, was. Paul had a girlfriend whom he really, really loved. They moved to district six later. John joined Black Monday when his brother died. I heard him talking to my Dad that he had to perform his brother's unfinished duties and something like that.

Didn't you say your friend's sister had a boyfriend? Could it be that she has the same story as Paul? I'm just kinda confused here but John Mason had a girlfriend, too. Plus, they're both really young, too.

This is just a wild guess but could it be that this girl's sister is dead?," Ryan said.

Mr. Young looked down but then his eyes widened. He smirked.

"Ryan, you fucking smart ass! I don't know if miss Elle's sister is dead or not but I'm pretty sure that John Mason has something to do with it," he said.

"So, we have to find John Mason, now?!," Benny asked.

"It's not easy to find someone in a district full of so many people. But didn't closet perv say that his Dad knew this Mason guy?," Angelina said.

"Can't you ask your Dad about him, Ryan?," Tina asked.

"I am not a closet perv! And my Dad is a man of secrets. He would never do that, Tina," he said to Tina.

"But, your father, Ryan, is a man with a heavy heart. He always wants someone to talk to. You are his only son and on good terms with him. He'll definitely talk to his son," Mr. Young said, smirking.

"Oh, aren't you a smart ass yourself, Luke?" Ryan said, poking his cheek with his tongue.
