Chapter 2

My mom yelled. So I went downstairs to see what had happened. And when I went there, Mom started yelling. "Where did you go?! Why are your shoes so dirty?!," she yelled. "Emma ruined my sketch and ran out of her window. So, I went to find her and I don't know what happened then. But, she fell in the pond in the park," I said. "How did that happen?," she asked. "How would I know?!," I said. "Where is she now?," Mom asked. "She's in the shower," I said. "Okay. Go and get ready. We're going shopping," Mom said. 

I was really happy and excited. I quickly ran to my room and got changed. I wore blue baggy jeans and a white tank top with white sneakers. I tied my short brown hair into a ponytail. 

"Lizzy, hurry up!," Mom shouted. "I'm coming!," I said and ran down the stairs. I tripped over my feet and went tumbling down the stairs. My Mom rolled her eyes. 

When we were on the road, we passed the mall we usually go to. "Mom, which mall are we going to?," I asked. She didn't answer. "Dad, which mall are we going to?," I asked. "At least, tell me where we're going!," I said. "Can't you just wait a minute?!," Emma asked. Zack, my younger brother, laughed. I kicked him in the gut. "Why are you hitting me?!," he said. "Cause you're laughing!," I said. "Well, it's because you're a joke," he said, smirking. I hit him. He hit me back. "Will you guys stop?!," Mom yelled. "Mom, she started it!," Zack said. "Just shut up! We'll be there soon," Mom said. "Where?!," I asked. "Just wait and watch," Mom said. 

The car stopped. I quickly got out of the car. It wasn't somewhere I wanted to be.
