Chapter 79:

Stadium Plush Battle

Destiny Destroyers

"Hey Yun, are you okay?"

Yun-Yeong shot out of bed to see Wendy looking over her, looking confused. Yun-Yeong looked over her bed to make sure she didn't let any blood out while she was sleeping. Nothing happened there, anyway.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Yun-Yeong sighed. "Why?"

"You were talking in your sleep. Something about a guy named Mike?"

"Oh, was I?" Yun-Yeong yawned, half of her mind still in sleep. "Sorry about that."

"Wait, was it Micah?" Wendy gasped. "Do you have a crush on him?"

"What, no!" Yun-Yeong yelled out. "He's a weedy dork obsessed with trains, what the hell is appealing about that?"

"I mean, you're both blood types." Wendy whispered.

"I'm half elemental, Wendy!" Yun-Yeong yelled, before covering her ears with her pillow. "Look, I'm not into Micah, now let me go back to sleep."

"It's seven. We need to go get some food."

Breakfast was uneventful. After about half an hour, Kalea entered the room, looking even more depressed than usual.

"Your next challenge takes place at NeoBunny Stadium. Allow me to take you there."

The fourteen of them stood in front of the stadium building. Looking proud. It looked like a standard sports arena from the outside, but with the colour palette of a hyper goth bedroom, with it's black walls and occasional neon pink lines alongside it. The automatic doors slowly slid open, where Leonie was waiting in a lobby with neon pink walls and black leather couches with a psychotic smile plastered onto her face. Ulrich almost didn't see it, with the colour palette of the room already assaulting his eyes.

"Hel-lo everybody!" She yelled out. "Now, I know a lot of you are still feeling the buzz of getting rid of someone as despicable as Lloyd Clifton. But you left us in a bit of a bind, getting rid of one of our most popular players like that!"

"He roped people into slavery!" Eric protested.

"He was a slaver, sure. But a slaver who brought in the ratings." Leonie retorted, slightly calmer. "And this could have been avoided."

Her stare shifted to Huang, as her smile evaporated into a look of pure malice.

"Someone was off the train. By all technicalities, Wendy lost. But you just had to ensure that she survived, didn't you, Huang? Make sure the person holding content for the Angelic Association survived!"

"The Angelic Association?" Ulrich asked. "What's that, exactly?"

"I think it's a filmmaking scene?" Amber replied from behind him. "Didn't think it was enough of a deal to land someone in here."

"Well, you never said I couldn't." Huang replied calmly.

"If the challenge ended with someone falling off, you should have specified." Cyrus added sternly. "I would expect someone as proud of their work as you to see through those loopholes."

"Shut it, defector!" Leonie yelled back, before contorting her face into a psychotic grin. "Now, as I was saying, Wendy and Huang cheated death, let's see them do it again. if you both would step forward, please."

Huang did as instructed, and Wendy unsteadily stepped forward, tripping as she did.

"Today's game is a test. A test of leadership. If you would be so kind as to look at the simply adorable Bunra plush I'm holding, which are available at our online store for a mere twenty tua!"

She held the plush toy of the rabbit in their watches to their faces like an excited child, before plopping it on top her head.

"But what does the cutest mascot of the last five years have to do with today's challenge, you may be asking?" Leonie asked to no one in particular. "Well, underneath this stadium is a small obstacle course, and at the top…"

She held the last word for a few seconds before Kalea pressed a button on her watch. The room around them shook, a few people falling to the floor, including Kalea grabbing the end of one of the couches. Leonie stood perfectly still, including the plush on top of her head. After about twenty seconds, the shaking finally stopped.

"If you would kindly look outside, you'll see what we prepared for you!" Leonie said calmly.

The fourteen of them stepped outside, and before them was a clay obstacle course. A small mountain made up of clay pillars and some smoothed out into areas that looked to be the size of a basketball court covered with glass.

"Now, let me explain the challenge!" Leonie yelled. "We have a Bunra plush at the top, and your goal is to get it into the safe zone of your teams side! And naturally, destroying the plush is an automatic loss."

"Teams?" Yun-Yeong asked.

"Yes, Brightside! Teams! We went through the process of picking the teams for this challenge, and at the end of this challenge, a vote for the next elimination will be picked!"

"And the winning team has immunity?" Ulrich asked.

"Close!" Leonie answered. "Votes for someone on the winning team are worth one point, votes for the leader on the winning team are worth two, votes for someone on the losing team are also worth two points, and votes for the leader are four points! And whoever gets the most points? Well, I don't feel the need to explain that!"

Leonie chuckled as she finished her sentence, and Eric felt his body move forward as tears swelled up in Wendy. Valentina put a calm hand on his shoulder, with a quiet "Calm down." Escaping her lips as she did so.

"Now, I have randomly chosen the teams for today's challenge! Micah, Valentina, Eric, Silvia, Cyrus, Seeta. You guys are with Wendy. Vanessa, Odebode, Yun-Yeong, Ulrich, Amber, Andrei. You guys are team Huang. Now, if you would oh so kindly move next to your leaders, that would be great!"

The twelve of them did as instructed, Eric looking just as petrified as Wendy.

"You okay, dude?" Silvia asked. "You look like you shit yourself."

"I'm good, I'm good!" Eric yelled back. "Come on, we need to get the plush!"

"Now, everybody. I take it we're ready for this challenge?"

"Sure am." Yun-Yeong replied unenthusiastically.

"Extremely!" Vanessa yelled out.

"And the others?" Huang asked. If he was scared of his extremely high chance of dying today, he wasn't showing it.

"Sure thing." Amber replied coldly. On the inside, she was freaking out. This was a change of plans, right? The note mentioned avoiding robots. So where were the robots?

"I'm ready." Ulrich said bitterly.

"Good, good." Huang nodded, seemingly not noticing the tones. "Now, I feel that having someone charge straight for the plush would be a good idea. Any volunteers?"

"I'll do it." Amber replied.

"Hold on!" Vanessa yelled. "If she's put on guard duty, then what's stopping her from just giving the others the plush? Huang, you got her girlfriend killed, remember? So letting her guard is a terrible idea!"

"I see your point." Huang nodded. "Didn't see that one, actually. Good job."

"Look, if we lose this then I get double the number of votes, remember? And people are gonna vote for me." Amber explained.

"I'll do it." Andrei replied calmly, politely raising a hand. "Besides, Amber's powers are better for crowd control, anyway."

"Makes sense to me." Huang nodded.

"You hear them talking about setting someone up?" Silvia asked the group. "Should we do something like that?"

"I'll do it." Cyrus replied calmly. "Is that okay with everyone?"

"I think it's okay!" Wendy replied quickly, sending another of many electric shocks out.

"If Wendy says so." Eric nodded, approaching Cyrus. "But if you do anything to screw this challenge up, I will kill you."

"Damn, dude." Silvia gasped calmly.

"If we win, we get to vote Amber off. My compliance is guaranteed."

"Okay, everybody! Are we all ready to start the challenge?" Leonie yelled, her eyes getting more excited by the minute, her body rapidly shaking with excitement as if she was about to burst into dance. "If so, Let's go!"
