Chapter 11 -How the empire exhausted an already exhausted princess

I was on my way to the empire, about to cross the border and I showed my documents and statements. Then the guard let us in and offered a guide. It was risky to come to a place like this to other countries, after all many were raising their military and the tension could feel like a heavy burden.

That is why it was so weird. Why would their diplomat be him? You might expect the phoenix princess as she is next in line. You might expect the advisor in chief of the dragon king. You might even expect one of the vampire nobles to come and greet me but yet it was just some normal noble. Well not quite so. Not un-normal in talent but how he behaves, he is quite shameful. He is very depraved and satisfies his desires like he would be dying soon. When I met him, it was very annoying how polite I had to act while this so called diplomat kept hitting on me. I am the crown princess of a country! Surely a small country but a country is a country. This guy did not care at all.

-”Hey kitty cat, you're pretty darn hot in that dress, hehehehe. You might want to take it off, after all your kingdom’s temperature and mine is like polar opposites, right? So take it off, I bet you are too hot.”, the slimeball tries to convince me. I can feel his breath on my skin, and he has forgotten personal space. This has not ever happened to me. Well, someone with my status usually does not get hit on by guys like him. So my first experience being hit on was quite distasteful. I almost forgot that I was in another country and about to teach this horndog a lesson. He grabs me from my right wrist and tries to force me into the floor. Fortunately I am still seated and able to fend him with my free hand.

-” Dear diplomat, I am very unaware of the customs of your country. I am sorry but I believe you are too familiar. In my country we have a much larger personal space that we respect way too much. If you could excuse my ignorance of the customs of your country, and respect mine for a little while, I would deeply appreciate it”, I somehow try to find myself acting like this was a diplomatic meeting and not some guy forcing himself on me.

-”Oh? Is that so, then its okay, I will teach you all our customs. I will be your own personal teacher, hehehehe”, says with such a heavy panting the slimeball. I get too angry and get a bit chilly.

-”Kehehehehehehehe! You are trying to beat me up? You are going to be erased right now!” said triumphantly the shameful beast.

-” You have overstepped your actions. I am the crown princess, make sure to remember that.”, I spoke to him after already trying my best to hold back and freeze him completely. “Ice coffin!”.

And so the empire uses it as an excuse. Of course they would. This chump was just used for their personal gain, they just wanted someone that would be naive and vulgar and then betray the person by possibly telling them what they think is going to happen.

I bet not even this jerkward would be so brazen in front of royalty putting his moves on since he is clearly so dedicated to his role of been beta male. They might have told him that I was going to do anything, by anything I mean ‘ANYTHING’, for my nation and he was chosen for such anything. Pretty simple he forces me, I might even kill him or beat him, they use it as an excuse for diplomatic relations to be over. It's such a simple and not well thought plan, after all from their movements in the military near our borders even if this fiasco did not succeed they would have come with some excuse. Any excuse is fine with them. The world is just building their strength for the upcoming great disaster. Countries are just baiting, building, forming alliances and destroying them. Is not like the world is in chaos. More like big countries are not in chaos, is us in the smaller sizes that are just getting swallowed. If they can take you on with that much less of a loss, then they do it, if they cannot, they wait and try to be friendly with you. Of course they are going to take their chances. And of course they do not want heavy losses, after they might leave an opening to be swallowed up next. But will they? I mean the heavy hitters cannot possibly be swallowed up now if they do, the chances for the world to survive is very slim. So why war at all at such a crucial time? There might be trust with some but even so forming an alliance, will they be able to beat the great disaster and if they do, how bad will they be afterwards? Will anyone in not such bad condition not take advantage of this? That is why the heavy hitters and mid size countries are looking to swallow smaller countries. They want extra resources to not fall so badly behind others. But even so this greatest upcoming chaos only known from legends is known by the first individuals in this new world. I call it new since it is much newer than the world we everybody supposed to know already. Anyways, only they know, and they are extremely strong and they are shaking in their boots, so it must be too great of a threat. But if so can they really worry about the so-called chaos afterwards? It sounds to me like they are getting things backwards. It's good to have goals to think about after the great threat but, are they not getting a bit ahead of the game? But I do guess some soldiers do need experience, if they do not, how will they be able to exercise their strength correctly against it? Especially the dragonkin but in that case, is it not bad to get them too injured? They all may have extreme regeneration but that does not make them immortal or immune to anything.

For example, magic penetration. How does that work on extreme regeneration? It's not genetic. It's an ability or magic. Penetration does not mean it nullifies the magic. It is not that it is immune to it. It does not mean it eats it or absorbs it. Even if it's immune to magic, how will that work on extreme regeneration? Will it mean it cancels out? It nullifies it for a time? What really happens to that wound? If the object leaves afterwards,does it mean the wound heals after all? But would not mean it had to be there? That would mean it is like any other object. Extreme regeneration with a normal object will just expel the object away unless you keep them pressed on for long periods of time.

Magic penetration works in a different way. After all it does not mean immunity, nullification or absorption. It kind of burns it away, and by that I mean not fire but poison. The more stronger the magic penetration the stronger the poison and the more it lasts. The more magic is used the more it eats away. Someone with extreme regeneration will die eventually from really powerful magic penetration, because it is in constant use. Dragonkin cannot turn it off, after all it is supposed to be automatic since they do not have time to continuously cast it if faced against a dragon, not that most of them will have a chance to really win. Dragonkin may have extreme regeneration but they do not live forever since the songs cast on them are so powerful that their bodies will eventually be too exhausted. Of course it will happen not in years but in decades so for the species of humans may not be that big of a deal until....that using their powers way too much shortens that window. Another reason why dragonkins may not want to fight dragons besides just straight up losing, even if they won, their bodies may get too overly exhausted. They die out but slowly turning their bodies into bodies of crumbling salt. If they use it in one shot too much they become a full statue. If they use too much in many shots, their bodies slowly become crumbling salt. It is a really horrific way to die but then again gaining that much power obviously has a price. If you were already strong, why even become a dragonkin? Most of them were trained since birth to become dragonkin that way, it feels to them like fate. Surely there are many perks of becoming one. Extreme regeneration on par with a phoenix and high class vampire royals. New abilities suited to you. Extra buffs.

That is why this little game has more cons than pros in my opinion. Planning ahead after the disaster has its merits but I think they are focusing too much on the future fears not in the current one. Giving draginking real battle experience is good, but other countries are not going to be pushed around even if they have to make a dragonkin too exhausted. Even if their original purpose was to take down the great disaster, their continuous use through all this time have been weapons of war.

And that is why I’m so exhausted, I have to fend off against all these fools when they are making so many mistakes in their management of their respective kingdoms! I already have so much on my plate as the crowning princes to have to go along with everybody else’s idiocy! The great empire is not the only fool that tries to take us. This is the third time! Fortunately the last two were not nearly as big as the empire and they seemed to do badly in the art of war. One of them already got swallowed up. The other one is putting up a good fight, it seems they learn their lesson and now they know how to fight properly. Of course the empire would attack us now! After two times, we are a bit less in shape than them. We are not that low in numbers compared to those two little wars but having less people and resources against a behemoth like the empire is not the greatest moment I would want to face them.

I was able to leave the empire unscated, as if they were saying, ‘ We are merciful even for rude guests’. So condensing when I was the one being manipulated for your sorry excuse of invasion. When I came back with the news, a lot of my generals, nobles, politicians and so forth were shocked. I was shocked that they were shocked. I could have foreseen that a mile away. Of course,since they would have used such a tasteless excuse. I thought at least they would have thought a much worthy one but I guess that is too much effort for our kingdom.
